Terrible service and rude workers. The office staff alters bills to charge more. Do not use this service.

    Pipe Dreams Sewer & Drain

    Pipe Dreams Sewer & Drain

Tyler of Pipe Dreams Sewer & Drain is *fantastic*. I've lived in my townhouse condo for nearly 12…read moreyears, and the kitchen sink has never drained marvelously well. I had understood that it was due at least in part to a shallow grade of the outlet pipe...whatever. A couple of years ago, it had gradually become clogged enough that it was draining painfully slowly. I had RotoRooter out to clear it, and when the work was done, it was much better. It drained just fine, like before. Over two or three months this past fall, it gradually slowed down again, and I waited because I remembered how expensive it was the last time. Finally, there was no more waiting. It had become gross, it was so *disgustingly* slow, and I was even wondering whether it would require major work of some kind. I am so happy to have seen the glowing reviews here of Pipe Dreams. I called them & they were able to get me in in two days. Tyler was here for about an hour, and the tools he used were very different from the long, manual snake that RotoRooter had used. It/they were motorized things that had a reach far down the pipes. Tyler explained that he was staying mindful of the neighbors' pipes and not disturbing those. When he was done, he filled the sink with water & then released it. Since we bought this place all those years ago, I had NEVER seen it empty so fast, and I didn't even think it was possible. The water began to spin and make the most beautiful whirlpool and then was gone. The whole time he was here, Tyler could not have been more considerate, clear in his communication, and helpful. He also gave me tips on how to keep the drain clear. I kept meaning to write this review soon after he was here, but it's now been three months - oops! Here is the bright side to the delay: I can report that the sink has been draining wonderfully ever since, and it makes me soooo happy every time I use the sink. Call Pipe Dreams! You will be glad you did.

We feel very fortunate to have found Tyler and Elizabeth Scott, of Pipe Dreams, for our septic pump…read morereplacement. They were reliable, open and honest about the entire process even when the items on the blueprint didn't match the actual equipment that had been installed 20 years prior, along with outdated instalment features. They had to find a different pump, and electrical replacement solutions. They were great and did it with positive attitudes and friendly hardworking ethics. We enjoyed getting to know them and were very impressed with how much they care. They made the job change work with the price they had quoted us as well, which was very reasonable. Thank you both for being a great team. Louisa and Dean

I'm stuck on the rating. I would give them a four stars for all the years we've used them in the 20…read moreyears we've lived in this house, however, yesterday's dealing with them really bothered me and I can't say I'm comfortable using them after this. When taking two showers after running a load of wash, our system started backing up and the shower water would start dribbling out the pipe where the washer drain hose goes into the septic line in the basement. Usually, it overflows and puts about 3 gallons of water into a bucket we put there the first time it happened a couple weeks ago. We'd just had the tank pumped last year and all was fine, so we called them back out to pump the tank and then discussed what our next steps would be. The driver, Frank, suggested digging out the outlet pipe and he and my husband found a collapsed section of pipe. He then suggested calling Drummac to have a camera run down the system to see if there are other collapsed sections. Money's an issue. We have some set aside, but not thousands. We called and the woman said the price is $125 an hour and that it usually takes no more than 1.5 hours and that we'd be charged $125 if it took less than an hour and that after that, we would be billed for the actual time accrued and not another full $125 if it only extended 15 minutes over it. We were fine with that. The guy came out and said he couldn't get past the collapsed part, that they already knew was there, and that until the pipe is replaced, they can't do anything. He then charged us 2 hours and 10 minutes though he was only here for an hour by that point. He said that they always bill the customer for driving time too. No one told us that on the phone when they gave us a quote. Had we been told that, we would have chosen a company who is a little more expensive per hour but doesn't start the clock until they come out to your house. We've now spent almost $500 with them and still don't know anything. He said to replace the pipe, they'd have to bring in excavators (our soil is sandy with no rocks) and that it would be $175 an hour, plus the hour driving to our house, and about $80 for the parts, a little over $600. He said it would likely take 3 hours but that the shop would get back to us with the full cost because he could only give an estimate. At that point, we started calling around again. There's another company who said they will come out, replace the broken section of pipe for $75 to $100, including labor, they don't charge anything to drive out to your house. Then he'll go down with a ball snake rather than a camera to see if there are other collapsed areas of pipe between the septic and the distribution box. He said he was shocked they don't have sections of piping on their truck so that they can immediately repair a crushed section of pipe and then continue the job rather than leave a homeowner hanging.

Update: Ended up paying Drummac $380 for an evaluation during a septic overflow. The technician and…read moresupervisor both stated our leach field was completely dead and needed to be fully replaced, leaving us stranded. We brought in a second opinion. It turned out the leach field was perfectly fine, the 1/4 HP pump had simply failed. We replaced it with a 1/2 HP pump, and the system drained immediately. Drummac completely misdiagnosed a simple pump issue as a multi-thousand-dollar failure. Buyer beware. __________________________________________________ Incomplete service and a lazy, flawed evaluation. I am incredibly disappointed with the lack of thoroughness and technical competence from this company. I had to do all the heavy detective work and troubleshooting myself because their teams failed to properly diagnose a potential structural issue. The Major Issues: 1. Incomplete Pumping: The original pumping technician only emptied the main sewage tank. They completely ignored the separate 1,000-gallon pump chamber, leaving it overflowing, above the alarm sensor levels, and actively causing an emergency alert. 2. Lazy Diagnostics: The evaluation technician who came out next refused to wait for the pump chamber to be properly emptied. They attempted to diagnose a complex hydraulic system while standing over a dark, flooded pit. 3. Flawed Logic: The evaluator simply disconnected the pipe union, watched water squirt out for one second, and claimed everything was "fine." All this proved was that the pump motor spun. 4. Ignored Critical Failures: Their rushed test completely ignored a potential failed internal check valve, heavy outside groundwater infiltration possibly leaking through the concrete seals, and the fact that the waterlogged hillside was actively looping water backward into the system. 5. Incorrect Explanations: The technician claimed the high overflow pipe from the empty sewage tank was dripping water into the pump chamber. It is physically impossible for water to climb up four vertical feet from the floor of a completely empty tank to drip into the next chamber. The sound we heard was likely actually groundwater leaking in from the saturated yard. This was a lazy guess by a technician who failed to do their job properly. We paid over $900 for what we expected to be a proper, professional service. Instead, we were left with an active plumbing emergency, an un-pumped tank, and a completely useless, lazy diagnostic guess that could have cost us thousands more in unneeded repairs. If you want a company that actually understands plumbing physics, data, and complete system diagnostics, look elsewhere.
