She suggested an alternate item for a missing one that I needed. I couldn't get my phone to work, so with my permission, she pulled up my Michaels' account, showed me what to do, I couldn't remember my pin! Near tears, I found that I had cash! Courtney made 3 trips back & forth to the store! She was so willing and eager to help me but also very thoughtful, caring and concerned that I was upset. This young lady is an amazing person, an exemplary employee and ambassador of goodwill for Michales. I cannot thank her enough for her courtesy and kindness!

Chase, the young man working, matched my son's enthusiasm as he showed us each treasure and minifig! He knew exactly where to find the pieces my son was asking about and showed us all the amazing sets and builds they were working on! This is a hidden gem for Charleston parents!! I'm going to start by saying that RC is not my interest so I can't speak that part of the store…read more My interest is scale model kits and Xtreme carries model kits that you can't find anywhere else in this area. I know Hobby Lobby sells models and has a 40% off sale every 3 weeks but it's mostly the same kits on the shelf and they phased out Tamiya products which I enjoy using and building. Tamiya, besides RC, is one of the top companies when it comes to scale models and this store carries their kits and paint and if there is something from Tamiya you want, they will be happy to get it for you. So, I am in agreement with Jeff W. of Hanahan, don't bother with reading the negative reviews. I have been in the store many times and have not had any bad experiences and it's my opinion that the negative reviews do not accurately reflect this business.

Hobby Lobby is one of those comfort shopping experiences that cater to a plethora of different…read moreneeds and interests. I recently moved back to Summerville so I made the trip to North Charleston to get a few items. Overall this is pretty much like any other Hobby Lobby with one exception, which I'll bury somewhere in here if you keep reading. Walking in a week after the doors were unlocked for the general public, the experience is almost exactly similar to all other Hobby Lobby's; the space wide open yet filled with shelves of knick-knacks, art supplies, nostalgic themed items and many other items. The place is very clean and sterile while being well stocked and thoughtfully displayed, playing on the casual shoppers innate impulse shopping with "Oh I might need that one day" mentality. Therein lies my personal weakness as I headed back to the front to grab a cart to load up with items, I really didn't need but I could justify in my mind. I could drag the review out but, it's Hobby Lobby and you know what you're getting. Clean and safe stores with all sorts of items, and generally good employees. But that is one of the flaws of this particular store, the people were slow to respond and weren't well trained as they seemed to be missing a clue or two. While I'm ignorant of the inner workings I'd wager management isn't exactly up to par here. That said for the general public I don't think that would be an issue, just my knit picking. I'll end my review with it's not a bad store and it just needs a little TLC in terms of customer relations. Stop on by and take some time to relax and walk around a little and enjoy life while shopping.
