I'm going to start by saying that RC is not my interest so I can't speak that part of the store. My interest is scale model kits and Xtreme carries model kits that you can't find anywhere else in this area. I know Hobby Lobby sells models and has a 40% off sale every 3 weeks but it's mostly the same kits on the shelf and they phased out Tamiya products which I enjoy using and building. Tamiya, besides RC, is one of the top companies when it comes to scale models and this store carries their kits and paint and if there is something from Tamiya you want, they will be happy to get it for you. So, I am in agreement with Jeff W. of Hanahan, don't bother with reading the negative reviews. I have been in the store many times and have not had any bad experiences and it's my opinion that the negative reviews do not accurately reflect this business. read more

Very great spot for a lot of your RC needs. Theres a HUGE dirt track on the side of the building for races too! There has to be at least 100 different RC vehicles in here. The owner was cool to talk to. His passion for RC has definitely driven him to make sure that store is great, and man it is. I regret reading the other reviews. I could not have found them any more false. This store was phenomenal! Also to note, everything had prices and the staff was eager to assist without us having to ask. Although we did not purchase anything that visit, we will definitely be customers. Their selection of cars and trucks was extensive and they had a decent collection of aircraft. Don't read the other reviews. read more

Xtreme RC - Track - Hobby Shops Near Me - Ladson, South Carolina

This is a Radio-Controlled Car-themed hobby store. Decent size, decent selection, some planes, drones, helicopters, and boats ... but mostly cars. Fair selection of accessories, glues, tools, hardware, radios, and such. Some demo cars you can run up and down the aisles around other customers' legs. My biggest complaint is a lack of posted prices. The store is set up like a gun store with busy people behind the counter. If you want to price something, you take it up to the counter and wait until somebody gets to you. If it's too expensive (probably), then you'll have to embarrass yourself rejecting the item in front of everybody else at the counter. They're counting on this in not posting prices ... ... and, of couirse, prices are outrageous as are most hobbie stores. Lots of their items are made in China, too with about a 50% markup. Hardware is placed on rotating trees which are placed directly down on the concrete floor such that if you want to view items on the bottom of the tree, you'll have to sit down on that floor to see them. You won't be able to bend down and view them, so forget that. Probably never occurred to them to raise those rotating trees up onto a proper table for their retired clients. Staff is friendly enough but not very knowledgeable when it comes to scratch-build projects or hardware problems. Their main body of customers consists of car nuts who put kits together instead of kit-bashing or scratch-building. And forget about balsa or dope or monocote ... dinosaurs need not apply. Worst customer service ever! They act like you are bothering them when you go in the store. It seems like they make up the prices as they go. When I got home and looked online there was about $100 difference in the car I bought from them. Of course it was $100 more in the store. Don't go there! read more

Absolutely great rc shop. Tremendously family friendly. Have a large selection of items including parts & accessories. Prices are comparable to online so Im not sure what the other people are talking about. Hobby shops do not have a huge market up on the items they sell, so I am have that they are willing to price match. They have an amazing outdoor off-road race track where you can rent rc vehicles if you do not have your own, as well as a rock crawler course. On Sunday's they have races which are really fun to watch and/or participate. Definitely happy to have them in the area. read more

Worst customer service ever. Buy online, if you get a defective device they don't help they just tell you to handle it with the manufacturer. They don't stand behind their products. Anything they have in the store you can order online cheaper and have to deal with this kind of crap. read more

I bought a traxxas slash 4x4 ultimate and couldn't be happier. The staff spent the time required by me to make a good decision. They didn't push the most expensive truck on me. They provided useful info instead. I will say they seem to focus most on the wheeled vehicles as far as stock, but that is what I was there for. I did encounter a problem With my esc not recognizing the remote so I went back, it was fixed in 5 minutes. ( if I had bought it online I would have been on my own ) The owner made the repair required and then brought me out to the track to make my first runs with the truck. The truck is exactly what they told me it was, no b.s. I have been back a number of times for various accessories and to use the track, the staff has been extremely helpful and nice each time. The track is cool too, I prefer a track over bashing and if you look online they are few and far between. Super satisfied customer here. Oh and the price I paid was the same online as the store, but it came with what I feel is excellent customer service. Can't wait to race!! read more
