Bob's is a wholesale house in the real sense of the word. The place is a mess. But the bargins are many. Paper goods, pots, pans, towels, misc items all at low low prices. Used to frequent here as a kid because Mom must have thought this was the place to be. Stopped in last week as we are looking for a new kitchen set, and its like its always been. A cheap wholesale store that has everything you can think of for cheap. They actually have tons of furniture and we might truly go back to get a set, but its not Good Old Wood Furniture, you wont be passing it on to your Grandkids. In the store -ish part they have tons of cleaning products & other junk flea market like things. You could spend hours in here & find tons of shit. They are hit or miss but always worth a stop. read more

Below is a rolling timeline of our experience..... starts GREAT.... ends not so well. JD our sales rep was super nice and helpful. Had kind of a Grace vibe from Frankie and Grace. We found a great couch. Our last bobs couch was from the vaunted Calgary line and it lasted 10 years until my daughter puked all over it and it leaked into the cushions. Bobs warranty is 100 bucks for 5 years. I'm sure we will get it cleaned every 6 months on account of my kids being nasty little monsters. Ts and Ps to he world. Update! Bobs just called and said the couch was discontinued 3 + weeks later. Wife is fuming and wants heads on pikes. Had to change to 1. They were pretty laid back about it. No sorry or 10% off, not free shipping offered. Waiting on the poor sales rep to call the wife back. Pray for her. Guessing we go to Jordans. We have purchased a few beds from them and had no issues. Update 2. We reordered the recommended couch. It was a complete fiasco between calling the store and calling customer support. They informed us they will discuss a discount for the headache but only after the furniture is delivered.... wife explained this doesn't make sense. But customer service kept stating it's company policy. I picture a half wit staring at a spreadsheet concluding, if we negotiate after furniture is delivered ... half the requests for discounts go away because people are tired of fighting with us , and the other half ... well they have no leverage. Bobs like, "let's call it clear and simple returns " and move some furniture! Update-JD out sales rep told us if we didn't like the couch to refuse it. She didn't tell us that we had to pay shipping costs either way. One of many very misleading tactics used to make us "feel" valued while all they are doing is lying to get the sale. Update- Couch was delivered and we like it. Very well built. Delivery went very smooth. Before that Bob's customer service rep David promised we would receive refund for our issues. Jordans once screwed up a delivery, so they waived the delivery fee. Would you be shocked to know I called him 7 times over 3 weeks and he never called back. Then I called the main line, waited on hold for a 30+ minutes and finally spoke with someone who offered 25$ in bobs gift cards...... I explained that's not what was promised, again they said its our policy and I can give you 50$ in Bobs gift cards. Here's wily old Bob taking his mistake and cleverly using it to get you to buy more furniture. Wife and I knew this was going to happen. You could tell the customer service reps were embarrassed at their company policy. when we had an issue with Jordans, it was fixed in 1 easy phone call. The customer service rep could only say, "well I see David left you a message, that's all I can go on." As if the world outside of her screen and common sense don't exist. Bob is smart, sends out survey right after you purchase and are still feeling that new purchase glow. Most people aren't as deranged as I am to keep updating to how things actually went. This is classic bait and switch and misleading and bold faced lies. Shady tactics. Just unnecessary. read more

Alright people, remember that this is a discount store in the Greater Boston area. If you are looking for incredible service and quality furniture, then you are in the wrong place. We stopped in at this store as an homage to my wife's childhood. She told me that she used to stop in at this store when she was young and recounted the stories of terrible customer service and interesting customers. It looks as though little has changed in the years. What I found was a decent selection of reduced products from box stores and low quality furniture that I would probably buy for a starter home or apartment. In no way should you expect to get more than two years out of the furniture here if you plan to use it daily. In the end, we walked out with a few different items as well as a bunch of memories and belly laughs. read more

Terrible customer service and exchange/return policy. My mother bought a bed a couple months ago. Unfortunately, she doesn't have the original receipt so now she is stuck with a bed that sinks in the middle/ despite the fact that we have our bank transaction proving the amount we spent and when the purchase was made. The managers have absolutely NO sympathy and have only caused more stress. This place is outdated with no way to look up past purchases to help in times like this. Save yourself the headache and DO NOT waste your money at this place. ZERO Stars! read more

BEWARE....the worst experience of our life, classless rude employee in Hyannis, we bought a table, they had it wrapped when i got there. Employees put the table in my truck, when i got it home, gouge in the middle of the table. I called they said bring it back....i stated im elderly, i hurt my back just getting it home. They said "oh well, that table is what your wife bought, she knew about the gouge. I stated that i spoke to her and it wasn't there. They called her pretty much a liar. I was referred to the Revere store, got a classless gem named Eileen, my god, i was berated, told that I was a liar, and that they wouldn't have wrapped a gouged table. She yelled at me, was disrespectful, and stated either i had to bring it back or keep the table. Due to my age and already being injured we are now the proud owner of a table with a big gouge that is one day old....they told me the owner is named John....wouldnt let me talk to him.....BEWARE THEY ARE SCUM, CLASSLESS, AND RUDE....FURNITURE IS CHEAP, EMPLOYEES HAVE NO HYGIENE, AND THE STORE IS FILTHY.........SPEND THE EXTRA 100 DOLLARS FOR QUALITY, AND CLASS. read more

If there were negative stars...I would have picked one. I purchased a cafe table & two stools. Before I bought the set, I asked the salesman if I could return it if it the stools weren't the right height (I didn't need the table) he said yes just return it in the box as it was sold. Brought it home, flimsy stools also the wrong height...I attempt to return it, & I am told, by perhaps the RUDEST man, who apparently is the manager, it cannot be returned as he walked away shaking his head! This used to be where I would buy gold jewelry. The prices and quality are certainly better than the lame mall jewelry stores. Generally Bob's is good stufff made in Italy. I only give two stars because the older thni , blonde lady who works there now is extremely disagreeable and obviously does not earn a commission. She makes you embarassed to ask about an item and she is really bothered buy doing her job and having to sell stuff. Nothing particular, just her general attitude. Yesterday I bought whole bunch of furniture from this place including vinyl leather couch. When i had delievry today the delivery guy was so inexperienced that he tored up my couch and when i callled them in office the customer service guy was so rude and arrogant that he refused to replace the couch with another one instead starting blaming on me that it was my fault. And also refuse to do any refund without any additional cost. Now I am stuck with new vinly couch with big hole in it.Do not go this place. read more
