We're in the market for a kitchen backsplash to finish our renovations. We got 5 samples of tile from Home Depot, most arrived chipped and broken. Not to be discouraged, we decided to nix the big box brand and shop local. My parents purchased their kitchen floor here years ago, and the service hasn't wavered a bit. Their showroom is extensive, and you're greeted upon arrival. Betty quickly honed in on what we were looking for, and took us straight to the section that could meet our needs. After showing her the granite we already have, she brought out several samples and a few that varied a bit from what we said we were looking for. Well, we brought a sample home, and the one we fell in love with was actually quite different than what we thought we were looking for! They have a huge array of products at different prices. Our selection just happened to be on the low end, at $11/sq. ft. Some other marble tiles we viewed were as much as $50/sq. ft. You definitely get what you pay for - $11 was a little more than we were looking at from Home Depot but the quality of the product and the service were so much higher at Cloutier, it's worth it!

Funny story...I am an artist of sorts and am out here on the Cape caring for a family member. My friends asked me if I'd painted anything interesting since I got here and I said, "like what?" One said, "we'll, any rocks or sea shells?" So when I met the owner and she asked if I was looking for anything special, I said, "Well, since you asked, do you have any large cape sea shells?" (Just expecting her to laugh.) But she said, "just a minute" and then came back with two large clam shells she and her husband had gathered from the bay last summer. She gave them to me for free. I originally wanted Trex cabinets, but the owner, David, talked me into a different brand. The drawers don't close all the way, so they stick out more than the cabinet door below. I was sorry I did not get the Trex. Then the kitchen faucet he recommended malfunctioned. He assured me that the LYNX company would send me a new one for free. Three months and many emails and phone calls later, I still don't have a faucet. I called LYNX directly, and they will gladly replace it as soon as I send proof of purchase. I asked Chatham Refinishing for a receipt that included the faucet, and I still haven't received it. This is the most frustrating company I have ever dealt with. Do not be fooled by the congenial demeanor of the owner, his mother, or anyone else there. It's a very expensive lesson to learn.

We had a contractor visit the store just to get some information so we could pursue this matter on our own and the owner made him wait an hour and then would not even come out to see him. I was able to find the small fans I had looked all over for very quickly in BB&B. Easy check out. I had no problem using their coupon. If you're on their mailing list you get some decent coupons periodically for 20% off or $10 off purchase of $30. All their prices are elevated, but with the coupons, it's not so bad for hard to find things. Lot parking is somewhat shared with Home Depot so watch out for large trucks and folks with oversized loads.

If the items are mismarked, you have to get one of the few staff to come check out the discrepancy. The discrepancy in this case, they advertised in-store, in writing, and show on the large sign next to a display a set of Essential Home aluminum pots/pans a 12 piece boxed set for $ 27.99. There were at least 12 boxes at the display. At the register it rang up for $45. When one of the staff came over, after the rosaming check out assistant called her, she said that $45 was the correct price. I walked her to the display, she scanned one of the boxes and the written/posted ad, turned to me and said that the skews did not match. Off we went to find a manager who promptly said that the advertised item was not what is on display and not available except to order and ship. What was on the floor and what we had selected was at full price. The ESSENTIAL pots/pans that was on sale could be ordered. I asked why the sign was there, if it did not relate the the product that it was with? It was a clear BAIT AND SWITCH. BAD PRACTICE BED BATH AND BEYOND. Seems like unfair and dishonest treatment of your customers. I told one of the staff to VOID the rest of my merchandise which already totalled $260 and left the store. I went to TARGET instead. Hey BB&B, treat your customers better or you will go out of business. I will NOT shop from any of your stores again.

Owner called today to find out if I got the cabinet and I said what kind of furniture place just leaves something on your doorstep when you are not home, he says " I was doing you a favor" , and " I had to drive an hour and a half to get the cabinet from Falmouth" ( you can't make this stuff up) oh and would you please bring back the blanket( that they wrapped the cabinet in ) , BUYER BEWARE!
