I had to have my bike serviced as a friend borrowed it and messed with the gears and brake cable. I've been to BB's a few times before and had fast, excellent support...but today was special. I gave them a set of MAXXIS 2.5 Assegai DoubleDown tires to mount on an Industry 9 Wheelset. This place is very unhelpful. Firstly, this is the only bike shop that wouldn't fill in a brake line. It doesn't matter what type of system it is. A brake line is a brake line and it's pretty much the same process all around. Didn't even attempt to think of any alternative to help or fix the problem rather just said it would take days for a step by step process of what they have to do. I just moved here to the area and had discussed with my wife that it would be nice to pick up some bikes for the family to take on trails. I searched some local bike shops and Bob's Bicycles popped up at the top of the list. I brought the family in store to get us all sized up. The gentlemen working the sales floor seemed very knowledgeable and helpful. But of course the kids are excited and see bikes the perfect size so they want to jump on. Me as an excited dad wants to see if my kids can even reach the peddles. While I was working with the salesman my wife tended to them but the gentleman behind the counter had rudely explained that the kids were not to ride the bikes in the store (the kids were not riding around the store just going about 2 feet at most to ride to her). At this point I'm still working with the salesman and did not catch wind of this but made my wife uncomfortable enough to want to leave the store. When I had asked her to come back to get the correct size bike my kids were so excited to take their bikes home but to no avail the kids sat down and peddled ever so gently while I'm in front of them to see if it was the right fit. Now the gentleman had raised his voice and this was the first time I heard him. He had his arms crossed and his body language was enough for me to not want to do any business with the store. So I came to the conclusion that although the store may be pretty knowledgeable on bikes. Maybe work on their people skills and learn some manners. read more

During our trip down to FWB, a screw literally fell out of my 6-week old Trek Townie Go. The front fender was vibrating like crazy! After checking into our condo, our 1st stop was Bob's Bikes. Mike was super nice & welcoming. He gave us not 1 but 2 screws at no charge. He told us about local bike trails and important differences between trails in FWB versus north GA. We were very impressed & are now the proud owners of 2 Bob's Bikes t-shirts which we will be sure to wear back home, especially when visiting our local Trek shop, Bike Town USA in Gainesville, GA. Very large selection of discs for disc golf. Decent selection of parts and bikes. Unfortunately they had no mountain bikes.

One, they always say hi and are quick to see what you need. Two, the estimates have come quickly and accurately. If they found something new, then they called. I have been buying bikes from Bob's since I was a kid and every single time it feels MAGICAL, like the first time you rode without training wheels. Even in my 30's, they still manage to bring back that giddy feeling when you pick up your new Bike. Looks like a new bike shop opened in downtown fort walton. I window stalked and saw a selection of Electra cruisers and bike maintenance area boo yah. This place has a selection of Trek, Electra and Townie cruisers/mountain bikes. They have a few kids bikes as well. I love their accessories they have for the bikes and it priced pretty reasonably. They even have a maintenance and repair spot. GoPro camera section and awesome staff. They recently moved from the Mary Ester area and have found a new location in downtown fort walton beach. We go to Miramar Beach each September. This year I had a problem with my bike and found out about Bob's bike shop. You never know being from out of town where to go or whom to trust. I did visit their store and was totally happy with my experience. I want to thank them for speedy service and for servicing, fixing and making necessary corrections to my bike. Off and riding again! I put a $200 deposit on a remaining 2013 Trek. Found out my wife has just bought me a bike for my 40th birthday. Bob's is keeping my deposit. What a horrible way to conduct business. I will not shop for any accessories, apparel or service there. I will never recommend this store. It is not the 1980's and that is not the way to do business read more

I made an appointment and dropped my schwinn bicycle off to have the rear tire replaced . I supplied the factory tire and was quoted a price of ten dollars total . About ten minutes after leaving I was called and advised a spoke needed to be replaced for fifteen dollars, so I agreed for a total of $25.00 which I thought was fair . Upon arrival I was given a bill for $42.40 . When questioned I was told of another fee of $15.00 for a rear brake adjustment , which was excessive and I had not agreed to ..If you go to bobs, watch for hidden fees .
