I had bought a used bike that had been left outside for an extensive period of time. Then it languished for two years in my garage. I finally got the gumption up to take it and have it repaired or find out if it was even worth trying to. Bob's bicycle shop was so sweet and very honest. The bike was salvageable but it really was depended on how much I wanted to spend. I did the math of what I had paid for it two years ago plus what it would cost for them to bring her up to speed and decided it was worth it. They had the bike ready in two days! She needed some TLC and some new parts. They were very conscious of my budget because I'm on a fixed income. I also had a dislocated shoulder so they help me get it out and into the car. Great shop! A friendly bike expert named Talon efficiently and affordably lined me up with the obscure air pump part I needed. Then he poured me half an IPA from one of the two local draft beer taps built right into the wall by the register. For free, just because they care for their customers. What?! I'm a bike fan who's been to like 100 shops in different parts of the country, but sure as hell never got a nice beer thrown in for my $2 transaction! I went in today and worked with Ben because I wanted to purchase an e-bike. I wanted an Electra Townie and had decided already which model and color I wanted. Ben made the transaction so smooth! He brought the bike outside for me to test ride around the block. I loved the bike and also noticed they had a roadside sign that advertised a free gift for an e-bike test ride. I won a $20 store credit on the scratch off card. I had brought my bike that I purchased last year from Bob's Bicycle shop and was given a very fair trade-in price! When I returned home with the new bike and was looking online at the Electra website to show my friend the type of bike I purchased, I saw that it was $200 less than the price I paid. I called Ben and he was very surprised and immediately offered to send me the $200. This is the type of customer service that keeps customers coming back! I love this and can't recommend them enough! I moved to the area three years ago and needed my 12 year old bicycle tuned up, I took it to Bob's and they brought it right back to like new specifications. I put around 1000 miles on my old bike when I decided (now after nearly 14 years, to upgrade in technology. I chose Bob's because of my service experience and the selection and sales experience was every bit as great! I am no longer a road bike person but still wanted something that offered similar characteristics and, after discussion we settle on the perfect model -and size for me, at least in theory because it has not been assembled yet. This was because the shop was too busy (shocker). But the salesperson agreed to assemble the bike simply so I could test ride it. They called literally the next day and I went up for the ride. I had a million questions after the ride including comparisons to higher and lower prices bicycles in the category and the choice between carbon and aluminum frames as well as disc versus standard braking to name a few. Garrett answered them all patiently and throughly making my purchase experience top notch. I ended up buying the bike they assemble for me, not out if obligation but because it was literally after all the questions, exactly what I was looking for. Hats off to this place, good bikes are costly but usually worth it when you make educated choices. They really helped me pick the winner and I highly recommend them! read more

It's convenient having this place around the corner that's for sure but I have to be honest it's not very affordable. Also I know nothing about bikes or the difference between speeds and breaks. 3 speeds are more then 1 speeds so I got the 1 speed but now I can only break using the handle bar? I have an ebike, it's not easy finding folks to work on my off brand ebike (a Himiway, RadRover clone.) Most places will only work on ebikes that are the model that they sell themselves if they even sell ebikes. Bob's does sell ebikes, but not my brand so because of liability, etc. There's not much they can do on mine. Understandable. The motor work I wanted done was major and they were so apologetic that they couldn't work on it and offered other places I might want to check into. After I had the motor issued addressed elsewhere I noticed something else about my bike. The back tire was out of round, a bad bead that wouldn't seat, thereby creating a wump wump! as I rode. I was out riding when I rode up to Bob's Bike Shop, bummer they don't open till 10AM, I'll just wait 20 minutes. While I was there hanging out, a young man rode up on his bike toward the backside door. Taking off his gear, he looked at me and asked if he could help me. I realized he worked there, and I said it's okay I'll wait till you guys open. He asked if my bike was okay, I told him about the back tire. He enthusiastically says hang on, that's a four inch Kenda right?, I think I have something like that in the back. He rushes in while I'm trying to let him no that there's no rush I can wait until they open for business. He insisted it was fine, no worries, super nice and obviously sincerely dedicated to his craft and his people. He comes out with the tire, and says do me a favor, because we can't work on that bike, take the back tire off and bring just the wheel in and I'll put this new tire on. Deal! I ran the bike home, took off the rear tire, threw it in the SUV and drove back over, dropped it off. He said great, I'll have it ready as soon as possible, I have about 53 bikes to work on. I said wow, okay, no rush, whenever. He says he'll call me when it's ready. Sweet. That afternoon phone rings with a local number, I answer, it's Bob's telling me tire is ready! Okay sweet! I dropped in to pick it up and was warmed by their welcome and how a few of them came out of the back with the tire, all proud and happy to present it to me. Asked me if I want my old tire, I said no you guys keep it. I thanked them for being so quick about the service.... "Aw no problem, we jumped on it and knocked it out, happy to get you back on the road again." Somebody pinch me. I told them how much I appreciate their friendly attitude, work ethic, enthusiasm in addressing me even before they opened, and fast service. I made a few friends. I would give it a negative star if I could. I went in as a new bicycler wanting to be fitted for a road bike. The first salesman couldn't even be bothered to look up or say I'll be right with you. The second salesman first walked in the back then came back and asked what I was looking for today. I explained my situation, he asked my height, told me what size and that was it. I asked well do you have any I can try? He said no, that was it, I was dismissed. He didn't offer to show me bikes, he didn't offer to order one, he didn't offer to ask questions to offer any help. I went in the shop about a year ago. I had just moved in the area and wanted a new bike. The area in Indian Harbour Beach is very bike friendly. So I went was just looking around and there was a young women and maybe 2 guys in there and not one of them asked me if I needed help or looking for anything in particular. I was maybe walking around for 10 min just checking out the bikes and accessories. Not even a "hello". I walked out and went and looked at the bikes that looked used and still no one helped me. I left upset. I'm a person that would of asked questions and bought a bike, but I seen they didn't really acknowledge me...I'm an older women, I just assumed that was why. These people are awesome! Especially Ben. I bought my new Trek at a store in Atlanta, and it came with several significant problems that the selling bike store never fixed or responded to well. Ben listened to me, consulted with a Trek representative who had done work on the bike, and fixed my bike! Now I can enjoy riding my expensive, new bicycle like I couldn't before. Unbelievably, Bob's didn't charge me for the repairs they made! Instead, they apologized for the treatment I'd gotten from another authorized Trek dealer, and showed me the kind of service I should have gotten from the start. WoW! old fashioned customer service. I love these guys! I needed a rear mount rack for an upcoming trip. My car dealer called first to make sure they had the one I wanted. Walked in, they had the box already out and were waiting for me. I was shown various locks and components (if I wanted them) with no pressure to buy. Rang me up and then 2 of the guys followed me out to the truck to install it for me and show me how to use it. Wonderful, wonderful experience with a nice group of folks. If you make a reservation for a bike with this shop and guarantee it with a credit card maybe you can actually rent a bike from them.... or maybe not. It's an exciting game of chance and if you enjoy that type of game, THIS is the place to rent a bike... or maybe not. As the official bike shop of the Rocketman Triathlon at Kennedy Space Center, I decided to use this shop to rent a bike for the race. Since the race is May 5th I made a reservation online well in advance on 3/31/13. The auto reply said I would be contacted "soon" with details. When I had not heard anything by 4/8/13 I called. The dude that answered was either a skilled actor practicing his spot on impersonation of Jeff Spicoli or he was stoned or possibly just stupid. I can't say for sure. I told him that I wanted to confirm that they had my reservation and I would indeed have a bike for the race. He said the guy who does reservations doesn't work on Mondays. I asked if he could just look to confirm that they had my information, he said he didn't know how to do that. (apparently computers are just too technical and fancy for our buddy Jeff) Later that day I got an email saying they had my reservation and would be contacting me with details soon. Silly me, I thought this meant I had a bike reserved and didn't need to worry. A week and a half later (4/16/13) I get a voice mail from the shop, they don't have a bike for me. No apology, no explanation they just don't have enough bikes. They suggested I call another shop. And since they are the "official bike shop" for the triathlon you would think they just might have thought ahead to have a few extra bikes on hand. That would be craaaaazy! I did find another shop in town, Infinity bike. A wonderful person there named Melissa helped me. I'll write a full review of my experiences there after the race. But based on my initial contact I'm expecting good things. At least they have the basic concept of customer service figured out there. As for Bob's Bike Shop if you want to play a game of chance go ahead and try and rent a bike from them. It could be fun... or maybe not. read more

Ben was a terrific help assuring me that Trek had a 30-day seat guarantee and could be exchanged if the seat was not a good fit. Once the seat arrived he installed it and checked the height for me. Went to have my bike tuned up and new brake pads installed. My first bike is called a Green beach cruiser from California bought online. Bob's fixed it and I was satisfied. Next I brought them my Lectric XP for the same work. NOPE they said. If it is not a Trek electric they will not work on it. Bob's lost all my future business. I have 4 bikes. If you did any type of regular bike, then you should fix any type of electric bike too. Gave me bogus claim that they got complaints from customers on their work on electric bikes so they won't work on them. Truth be known, they have a exclusivity clause with Trek.
