Justin was very nice and personable. He had advice on hairstyling tips that no one else has offered me before. He did a great job of communicating what he was doing and why. If you're working towards a hairstyle, he's determined to get you where you want to be. The entire shop seems to truly care about their customers. I'd definitely recommend scheduling an appointment for their shop. Great quality of care and friendly staff all for a good price.

A friend suggested I try a barber shop, and good riddance to all the salons who charge me $50+ for a "women's haircut" when their men's cuts (read: short hair) are much cheaper. Other than Madison's uncanny ability to know exactly what I want with my vague descriptions, what I love about Constitution Plaza Barber Shop is they charge one flat rate for everyone. My biggest pet peeve is when I have to pay a haircut upcharge for no apparent reason other than identifying as female. It's really convenient now that my husband and I can get our hair cut at the same place, and Madison does as great and as consistent a job on his fine, curly hair as she does with mine. For safety reasons, for now they are requiring people wear masks at all times inside and to stay in your car while you're waiting. They have sanitizing procedures between each appt and hand sanitizer at the door. They do take walk-ins typically but I do recommend booking ahead, especially now. Also they're cash only so make sure you bring extra for tip!

Gave Nick's a try since my other barber was booked. I was not disappointed with the service. It is a small shop, only two chairs, and it was pretty hard to find because I drove past it without even knowing. Dave cut my hair and even though I was a few minutes late he did not rush through the cut. He seemed pretty focused on details and was very open to comments and my suggestions of "a little more here" and "a bit shorter there". I've honestly never felt that comfortable with a barber right off the bat. The phone did ring off the hook and since Dave was the only one in the shop we had to pause multiple times. He made sure everything was to my satisfaction. At the end of the cut, the finishing touches were the hot shaving cream for the back of the cut and a skin toner. This is Phil's shop. Not sure how long it's been around but I think a long time. I've been…read moregetting my hair cut here for about a year. Phil is really friendly and it's a great little shop. The barber's chair is an antique. He even shaves the back of your neck with hot foam and a straight razor after he's done. Nice little touch. The space is a little hidden above a Chinese restaurant. But just walk up the flight of stairs, turn right, and it's the first door. $16 for a trim. Little less for kids.
