His new-ish business partner, Dave, has also added to the experience. He's newer but he's just as kind, helpful, and capable as Nick. The Red Sox vs. Yankees rivalry between them is friendly, fun, and with plenty of rapport. They also both give a great haircut, and have managed to keep the cuts under 20 bucks, which makes a difference! They take appointments every day, and have talked about opening up on an occasional saturday, but they are one of the few shops open till later in the evening. I'll keep going back. I'll keep sending them customers. I'd bring my friend, my kid, or my brother here--great place, guys. Keep it up. PS: When you look online for Nick's Barber Shop in Avon, it's the shop that's been there in the 'hood since, 2001, not the brand new tiny one-barber shop that opened a couple doors down. Why someone would open a new shop a stone's throw from an

I would try some here and there and was never happy with the cut. For important events I would suck it up and make the long drive to my old barber shop. I know a lot of men around here like to go to salons for their haircuts but I was looking that good old barber shop experience. Sports on the TV, real magazines in the racks and good conversation with real people. If this is what you are looking for also, then Nick's is the place. Price is about $18 which seems average for around here. The cut is good and I have not been anywhere else since.

I had heard good things about Roosters online and from some family friends so I figured I'd give it a try. That was a mistake. Since I've turned 18 I've given the same exact instructions to every barber, or haircut place I've been to. 5 on top, a little shorter on the sides and blend it together. Rather simple instructions and it always comes out more or less the same. Somehow these instructions were rather difficult for Ashley to understand. She first asked "so you want me to buzz the top?". I told her no, just a 5, not a buzz cut. She was still confused so I told her to use three fingers on top instead; another way I've used to tell barbers how to cut my hair with the same results. Instead of my normal medium length hair with a nice neat shape to it, I look like I'm going off to Marine Basic Training. In addition to my unwanted buzz cut I paid for a hot shave. I've done it before and enjoy it, especially with how clean it usually comes out. However, I don't know how what they did can be considered a "hot shave" calling it such is paramount to false advertising, there was nothing hot about it. Ashely took the Electric razor and shave me with that. She did clean up with a straight blade but it was no where near worth the additional $35 it cost. In the future I'll be going to Super Cuts instead and would recommend anyone else thinking of trying here to dk the same. Or, if you don't trust Super Cuts give your kid a blindfold and some scissors, you'll get the same result without the price tag.

She did exactly what I asked and the entire treatment was a great experience - which it should be for $33 - $40 with the tip. (Supercuts $18 but not so "super") I will be back at Roosters.
