This place is way, way, way off the beaten path. Holy Cow! On a recommendation from some locals we found our way here and so happy we did. The atmosphere is perfect for one of the best Dive Bars ever. The food and staff are wonderful! 3/4 pound burgers and a side of fresh onion chips or fries is banging. P.S. unless you haven't eaten in days, get the half order . So much fun and genuine peeps! Keep up the great job!! Outstanding Grinds!!

Wow. I had a campaign event here and loved it. The place is homey and the food is plentiful. No small portions here. I'd highly recommend especially if you live in Sioux City.

Pork tenderloin. Sorry I forgot to get pic before I shoved it in my face. So yummy.

Old old small town hole in the wall. My favorite kind of place!!!! No renovations. Nothing fancy. Most food is deep fried frozen bar food that you wash down with a cheap beer. How often do you get to do that?! The portions are HUGE. And cheap! Perfect for a large party and good time. Loved the pork tenderloin! It was a busy busy Saturday night and it took a while to get the food. About an hour from the time we sat down but that was fine with us. Waitress kept our beers coming so just sit back and chill and have a few beers and just enjoy the laid back good time atmosphere. Where else can you drink beers for an hour for less than $10?!?! Even though it took a while to get food, it all came out fresh and hot. All straight out of the fryer so totally worth the wait. Only 3 of us so it was nice to get half orders of the appetizers which we still couldn't finish. Definitely a must have place at least once if you're passing through or camping at Ponca. CASH OR CHECK ONLY!!!

Visited here during our Nebraska passport trip. This was worth the stop for some hamburgers and fries. A very hidden hole in the wall in rural Nebraska. Very cheap prices and they give you a lot of food! Would recommend if you're in the area

    Amazing food!!!!

Fantastic food in a small town!!!!!! Cold beer and fantastic service!!! Absolutely huge sides!!!!

pork tenderloin sandwich, cheeseburger, hamburger, and a half order of fries and cheese balls

Incredible bang for your buck! If you want a large portion, Bob's will fill you up! The sandwich meat is triple the bun size and the sides are gigantic. This place isn't big or fancy, but the food and drinks are honest and good.

The best dive bar I've ever told other people I've been to, I've even invited my family to come along. As the address says Bob's Bar is in Ponca, NE, they are actually located in Martinsburg, NE. The town is so small, that their address is a P.O. Box in Ponca. The main street is paved, but if you do a tour of the rest of the town, many streets are still dirt roads. So, you really do not have to worry about parking, you get the entire town to choose from. Bob's Bar is famous as being "This Home of the 1 Pound Hamburger." You will not come here if you are on a health kick or a diet, you come here for dive bar food at a ridiculously cheap price. I have been coming to Martinsburg for years and it seems the economy has even hit Bob's Bar. The burgers use to be the size of the plate back in the 90's, now they are just a little bigger than the bun. Still large and in charge, Martinsburg is worth the drive. As I do not live in Nebraska anymore, on my last visit home, I did take my Colorado girlfriend here for a visit. Her words exactly, "I loved it! I love the giant hamburgers, I loved the cheese curds. Just greasy artery clogging wonderfulness." I think she said it best and so true. To the locals of Martinsburg, this is possibly the only business, for sure the only restaurant. The menu is quite simple, I do not think it has ever changed. Pop is ordered per can, fries and side orders are much larger than a regular side. They come on a full plate, piled up like a pyramid. If I remember correctly, their credit card machine did not work, so be sure to bring cash just in case. If you get the chance to chat with a local, they will give you a great history. If you get the chance to eat here, I hope you take it allllll in.

Fried pickles spears with the rock n roll sauce were great. I wouldn't have ordered these except my server recommended them out of all the apps, so I went with that. Fried things at places like this usually lack flavor and are just salty, fried bar food. These had some kick. The rock n roll sauce was like a Mayo with Frito's Chili Cheese Twists, so they were yummy. Tilapia on wild rice was ok, but it's tilapia, so how amazing can it be, right? Broccoli wasn't too over cooked and it still had a healthy green color, so I was happy with that. And the fries were a tad greasy, but they came out hot and crunchy. I think if they let the oil drain off them a bit more under a heat lamp, they'd hold their crispness a bit longer. Oh, and it was an entire plate of fries, so portions were generous. Lastly, everything was served very quickly. The place wasn't super-busy, but it wasn't dead and I was happy about the timeliness. I ordered an app first then placed an order for my entree after munching on that. And I was out done in 45 minutes. Granted, I was eating alone, but still. If you enjoy meat, I highly recommend giving this place a shot. I am a pescatarian (mostly vegetarian) and I have a sneaking suspicion that their beef and chicken options have much more developed flavors.

I'm going to try and not make this review a comparison between the two. The location isn't the easiest to get to, but parking is ample. It's also connected to a family fun center and a bowling alley. Right across the lot is the city's minor-minor-minor (I don't know the official term) baseball league home. It's all next to an ice rink that is used for sports and recreation. It's a great family-friendly area of Sioux City. Food is the same as the SSC location which is wonderful. They have the BEST burgers in town. I also LOVE their fries. The only thing not making these restaurants my favorites is the ranch dressing. They just use generic, bottled ranch. It's not good. I'd kill if they made actual 'restaurant' ranch. I've literally brought in my own ramekin of ranch when I'm craving a meal I usually eat with it. BUT, the brown gravy and queso are to die for. It would be a part of my last meal. Staff is great. This area has a smaller bar than the SSC area, but the bartenders whip up everything the same. I don't drink, but they're down for their margaritas. This place is kinda like a locally-owned Chilis, but with better food. A great place for even a couple drinks and some poutine.

My first thoughts were ugh, bar food. But it's better than that! It's delicious. I had the chicken taco salad. It was made with a homemade chipotle tortilla shell. It cooked up just like a regular tortilla and was yummy. I really enjoyed the salad as well. It was HUGE. Sometimes taco salads have like no lettuce and they are a soggy mess, other times they have lots of lettuce but no goodies. This was a nice balance. In addition to fresh lettuce, it had spinach, onions, lots of yummy veggies. I didn't really care for the guac and the salsa is Pace. A homemade salsa would text this up a notch or two! My friend also had a taco salad but she had the beef. Both equally full and delicious. The third person in our party stole the show with his meal. He got a philly and probably the best sweet potato waffle fries I've had. They were large and full of soft mash but with a little crunch on the outside. Sometimes sweet potato fries are small and overdone but these weren't. They were sweet like a funnel cake. They were hot and crispy and you get a ton in your order! Literally perfection. We all shared them. Kim was an awesome server!
