My wife and I have been going to Bob's Bagels on Ridge Road for probably at least 3 years now, about once a week, but we had a very negative experience there today and are very disappointed in how it was handled. We were eating at a table inside, when a man sat down next to us and began playing some news site on his phone, right next to us, at full volume. This is very rude and very irritating, and so we started standing up to move to a table outside. We said something to the man like "you know, this isn't your home," and then he became extremely confrontational. and started yelling at us to "get the f*ck out of here" because "he can do whatever he wants." At about this point a manager from the store came out, and he was standing right next to us when the man told us to "get the f*ck out of here," several times. And nothing happened. The manager tried to calm everyone down, we went outside to finish eating, but this is simply not right. We shouldn't have had to move, or be forced to listen to some random guy's phone for 20 minutes, just because "he can do whatever he wants." We love Bob's and their staff, but the way we were treated and the way they treated the bully who got to insult us repeatedly, even in front of a manager,is not OK. Kindness is supposed to win, but instead, this angry, selfish, offensive man was validated for his unreal, uncalled for, bad behavior. We're going to miss it, but if Bob's can't stand up for good, loyal customers, then we're not going back. read more

I come to Bob's Bagels often. The food is good, but the service is pretty lousy. The girl at the register rarely speaks. I ordered a coffee and didn't realize it was self-serve. She gave me my change and then I stood waiting to get my coffee. She didn't say anything--just looked at me. When I asked, "My coffee?" she pointed behind me and said, "Over there." This happens often. It's always busy, and the place is disorganized. I once ordered a dozen bagels, paid, and was told to go stand by the bagels. It's shocking how many employees behind the counter just look at you and say nothing. No "May I help you?", "Be right with you," or even "Are you being helped?"--nothing. This happens every time I visit, and I find it very unprofessional across all employees. Honestly, I hesitate to go in because I know I'll be standing around waiting at least 10 minutes for my dozen bagels. It's frustrating to be looked at directly and not even spoken to. Not to mention, the girl at the register seems more concerned with how she looks or singing along to the music playing than actually providing good service. This is the closest bagel shop after church, and my grandma loves fresh bagels. If it weren't for her, I'd stop going. Just a tip to management: please take more control over customer service. I often see customers looking confused or waiting around for their orders. Ugh. I just really hate unpleasant service--when no one is polite, barely speaks, or even makes eye contact when handing you change or directing you. I worked in food service during my teenage years, and I now run my own business. It makes a huge difference when employees are welcoming and pleasant. My wife and I decided to come here since we live in the area and enjoy trying all the different bagel shops. I can see why there are many low star reviews. First off, there is a parking lot, but I would just recommend to park on the street because it is rather small and gets cramped. Upon entering, as many others have said there is no real order to how anything works. Nobody greeted me or asked to take my order. Once someone took my order they told me to pay later. 10 minutes went by and I hadn't received my order, which was just 2 bagels with cream cheese. I asked the person who took my order, he forgot about it. Then someone else brought me my order and gave an attitude because I didn't pay yet, even though the other worker told me to pay later. So we used to order from Bob's all the time. We'd either pick it up or order thru grub hub. The reason we stopped ordering was the fact they could never get our order right. Well today after about a year we decided to order and guess what? They got the order wrong. And here's the thing, the orders are never huge orders. At the most its usually 2 sandwiches. I ordered online which was a very smooth and easy experience. Inside was very clean and the staff was on point. I ordered a Taylor Ham, egg and cheese on a round roll with hot sauce. My son got a sausage, egg and cheese on a round roll and we got Ann order of home fries. The potatoes were phenomenal. Extremely tasty and cooked perfectly. A lot of times you'll get half cooked potatoes, etc. Nope, these were excellent. Not for my sandwich... instead of hot sauce, I got ketchup on my sandwich instead. I know I didn't make a mistake being that it was on the receipt as well. It was nice and cheesy but the Taylor Ham was nearly non-existent and over cooked being for how thin the slices were. My son enjoyed his sausage sandwich. That was a typical sausage patty. I didn't try his, so I can only go by the looks and his 10 year old opinion and he said it was a thumbs up. The service is generally pretty good here. Any time we've eaten in-person they've been slammed with people, so I can understand the staff being straight to the point. That being said, the food's kinda hit-or-miss. I've gotten bagels and sandwiches there that were really good, and other times they've been disappointing, with something over or under-done. I had the egg, cheese and Taylor ham bagel everyday and split it with my co-worker. One day, I had the blueberry bagel with strawberry cream cheese, and there was so much cream cheese, I had to skim some off. Not sure why so many people said the wait was long- I went everyday for a week (even Saturday morning) and my wait was no longer than 10 mins for 3 bagels (one of them from the griddle). I saw they had low reviews but after my experience with few places I know not to fully trust the reviews I walked in there were few people waiting for their order . The place was clean , lots of drinks options, coffee outside so you can help yourself leaving the staff to make your food and get the line moving , lady behind the register was nice. I felt a bit rushed but that's normal in a busy store . And in a away I appreciated that since more people are now in line. Got my bagels and left . I wasn't able to enjoy them worm for personal reason. But when I finally got the chance to eat them they were delicious. My favorite was the sun dried tomatoes cream cheese. This place is horrific on all accounts. The service stinks, the food is awful and the prices are even worse. I ordered a sandwich from them and they put 4 slices of cold cuts on it. When I called to let them know, they asked me to bring it in. After showing them the sandwich they all got together and laughed . At that point I told them to keep their shitty sandwich and that I'll never go back there again. Learn from my mistake and avoid this awful establishment.
