Living in SF and having my car repaired in Merced isn't the most effective system, but they really are worth the 2hr drive! So long story short, the 3 estimates I got here were $1,600, $1,800 and $1,900 (I can assume it would turn out to be more after taxes, hidden costs, extra labor, etc.), and Mark offered to do mine for $1,400 out the door!! That was worth it to me, so I had my car towed and just got word that it's done today. Now here's the clincher. I'm going to Modesto for Easter (40 miles away) and because the shop is closed on Sunday, they offered to drop my car off at my dad's place, so I can pick it up while I'm in the area.
