This review is a bit different. I came here to make a donation to The Period Purse. This DYMON is a drop-off for this charity that is dedicated to menstrual equity. It provides free period products from community partners and donations. It also has education programs across Canada. I was at Sansotei Ramen and used a single stall washroom before I headed to shop at Square One. I noticed free sanitary pads and tampons for periods in the washroom. I thought that it was a thoughtful gesture. We have food banks to support those who are having a tough time with groceries, especially as their prices continue to increase. What about folks who can't afford to get period products? I have been fortunate that I have not struggled in this area, but there are folks that have who could use a break. I did a search and found The Period Purse. Perfect! You have the option to donate to this charity. You get a tax receipt if your donation is at least $25. You can also donate period products. I like that it accepts open boxes of disposable pads and tampons, as well as new, unopened reusable products. After work a couple of Wednesdays ago, I drove over to DYMON. I was heading eastbound along The Queensway. DYMON is on the left, but it's an interesting setup to make a left turn. I basically had to pass by DYMON because there's a barricade as you go up the overpass and down it. I made a u-turn at Kipling Avenue and then turned right onto Vansco Road. There's a RUDY burger joint before you turn right, which is across from DYMON. There's an IKEA across The Queensway from both DYMON and RUDY. In other words, YOU HAVE STORES THAT USE ALL CAPITAL LETTERS IN THEIR NAMES IN THIS AREA. How coincidental is that commonality? I found a parking spot in front of the main doors. I backed into a spot and headed over there. I was a bit shocked to find that DYMON has kitchen and storage accessories. I felt like I was in a Winners store, but a fancier version of it. I was definitely not in a U-Haul store. The floors were shiny and spotless. It was bright and inviting. It was clean. I saw a few sales. It was cool. I was heading over to Guest Services when a female staffer was flagging me by saying hi behind me. She asked if I needed any help. I said that I was dropping off a donation for The Period Purse. She nodded and said that I'd be hitting Guest Services ahead and to my right. She frankly startled me. I was heading in the right direction. I will say that she was trying to be helpful, but I felt like she was chasing me down as I was walking. I ended up in a spacious area. There was a FedEx vehicle that pulled into this area. There were a handful of vehicles. If you have a storage unit, you can drive into this area to load and unload your stuff. I saw dollies to help out. I also saw mailboxes that you can rent. All services in this area are 24 hours. I like that you don't have to deal with weather if you are moving your goods in and out of your storage area. You drive into this area that keeps you and your vehicle dry and safe. I also saw a wine cellar area. You can house your wine here. It apparently has a bunch of controls, from humidity to lighting, to ensure that you wine collection is in pristine condition. It was a fascinating visit! I learned so much dropping off a donation to a cause that had nothing to do with storage or moving. At Guest Services, a nice man said hi and asked if I had a donation in my paper bag with handles. I did. He happily took it from me. I was pleased that I did my part. I don't have the need to rent a storage unit. It was nice to see a more modern approach here. I last visited a U-Haul store in Winnipeg eons ago when I moved from Rochester, MN to the city. That store was never as nice and appealing as this DYMON. (149)

They had to navigate narrow hallways and stairwells in our small home, which added to the complexity of the move. Would definitely recommend this crew for future !! Dymon is lucky to have them on their team. Thank you !! Jackie S

It brings me much pain to give this storage a two star rating because the biggest asset they have…read morehere is convenience. Bear in mind, sometimes convenience can come at a cost. 1. The service at Access Storage is kind and courteous. They took me in on a Sunday and even supplied me with a truck. Mind you, this is common practice for storage places. What prevented this from becoming a 1 star review is their employees. Very kind. 2. The price for what you get is a bit high. After taxes, I pay about $140 a month for a room that's a bit smaller than a walk-in closet but again.. convenience comes at a cost. 3. The interior definitely needs upgrading. The floors are a bit rusty (see photos.) I feel like the services are priced at a premium due to its great location only minutes away from square one, or Dundas street west.. remember folks, convenience comes at a cost. 4. The radios used to crackle a lot but it seems like they've been replaced. There's no real special playlist, it's just the local radio station, but you're not there for music, you're there for storage. This ain't your iPod! Lol. Convenience at a cost. 5. The pin code system is a bit complicated. For the monthly price we pay, I wish they would have equipped us with cards we can tap to go in with in addition to the code. Speaking of code, when I try to get into the building, my pin code says invalid, so I tug a little on the door and voila! The door pops open! Needs more security. A guy just parked by the door and spent 5 minutes trying to get in the building. Continue reading. THIS JUST HAPPENED: As I was writing this review, a guy parked by the door blocking the road and a guy in a big truck was honking at the dude like crazy and they got into a huge fight. Lots of slurs. I feel weird watching this unfold as I'm writing the review. The dude who parked by the door couldn't get in, so he gave up. Convenience comes at a cost apparently. 6. The road around the building is narrow so if you're driving a truck, please park your truck (or car) in a way that doesn't block traffic. Anyways, you can tell this place has been around for a while.. but my feedback to Access Storage would be this, please put more care into your facilities. This is how your brand is being represented and I'll update my review when I see changes. UPDATE: The owner responded to my Yelp review. I'm willing to update the review as changes are made. Thank you for responding!! Service is a huge thing to Access Storage so I'm curious and excited about what's to come!!

John Street Mississauga location is clean and well temperature controlled…read more I have rented a large unit for 4.5 years so far and have spent about $25,000 and climbing. People should realize that Access Storage can raise their rental costs at any time without restriction. Your rental rates are for a four week period. So not monthly but rather 13 payments per year. Again sad! If you are late over three days (which during Covid has been difficult for me) they tack on a late charge of $17.50. WOW! No mercy or leniency for Covid loss of work pay issues past June 2, 2020. And should you be in arrears more than 28 days, as per their contracts contract you will then be penalized AN EXTRA MONTH! WOW AGAIN. They hold your precious belongings and you hostage for a lot of money every four weeks. After divorce I have tried to keep family heirlooms and treasures safe in hopes of a future other than renting. It's financial suicide which leads to depression and hopelessness. Especially in the present Covid 19 climate. While government encourages landlords to be kind and considerate with money owed and many businesses are doing the same, Access Storage maintains its greed even with someone who has spent $25,000 and climbing. Do not rent from Access Storage or any storage company if you have any other choice. You have no wiggle room. They hold all the cards and charge dearly for the privilege. At times it truly feels like ransom pay due to their policy of taking an extra months rent for being late over 28 days, their sneaky 13 payments per year and raising the cost whenever they wish. They are holding your treasures as hostage/collateral and sadly that is that. In summation, not a considerate business. All for the money. And they've got ya by your unmentionables.

This is the entrance to the freight elevator which is hydraulic. It takes a while to get it, but it works like a charm.
