Clark's Mini Storage is a family-run business; I've always talked to Julie, who has always been helpful and polite. The storage lockers are generous for the price: as of Dec 2020, I pay $150 inclusivefor a 10ft x 10ft outdoor locker with 24hr/ 7 days a week access. The lockers are well designed with a roll-up door, and you can provide your own locks. Being somewhat rural, they do provide pest control, and as long as I've had my locker, I've never had rodent damage. They have also been quick to have snow cleared, usually within 2 days, so everyone still has access during the winter. The only thing that some current customers may have found bothersome is that Clark's has been harder to reach during Covid with their reduced hours. It would be nice if they had some set hours they will be on-location, even if they changed it on their voicemail weekly. However when you do reach them, they are quick to deal with any issue you have to satisfaction. They even offer discounts on long-term storage over 12 months, which can save decent money if you know your storage will be long-haul. You can also ask for reoccurring monthly payments by credit card. If you're looking for outdoor storage, then Clark's is not only a great deal, but you're supporting local business vs the US Franchises.

Five weeks later Chris Clark informs us they need to make a special unit for our Wiarton location and it will take 10 weeks. Their documentation for the building permit was useless. A floor plan and pier diagram, neither stamped by an engineer. It was becoming a nightmare to get a building permit for this US built unit. We found another Canadian made unit in Barrie ready to be delivered with full engineered documentation. (18 pages, all engineer stamped) I informed Chris and asked for a refund around July 22. The incredibly unresponsive Chris became even more unresponsive to phone calls or Emails. This modular home is for my parents to live on the lot next to mine in Wiarton. My dad turns 90 in 4 weeks and they are not in great health. Chris seemed shady from the beginning and I should have gone with my gut. You could tell he was self-centred, arrogant and doing us a favour by letting us talk to him. We want a refund of the $5000 deposit. Seems pretty simple. I'm guessing keeping deposits and disappointing customers is actually a major source of income for them.

These guys did a really hard job for us--moving a huge sectional from the garage into our basement…read morethrough our very tight/narrow entryway. They did it very quickly. Knocking off a star because they did leave a lot of damage to the trim of multiple doorways. They warned us they would be a knick but I didn't realize the extent of the damage that would be done so I wish there had been a little more communication. The damage repairs ended up costing us hundreds of dollars, so I wish had been presented options, rather than them pushing to get the job done. I also didn't appreciate them stepping on our rug with their shoes and smoking on our front lawn (and leaving the trash from it there too).

I saw the reviews left here and also received many positive reviews from family members that had…read moreused this company previously. I therefore felt no hesitation in using these movers. That was a mistake. The movers showed up on time but it was quickly clear that their punctual arrival was going to be the highlight of the day. One of the movers was perfectly fine but the mover who made this into a shitshow was beyond incompetent. Here are just some of the obnoxious things he did. - Repeatedly asked me if I spoke Hebrew (I do and was not offended by the question but to hear it 6 or 7 times was a bit much) - Repeatedly asked my girlfriend if she was Moroccan (she is not) - Tried to prop open doors with a quarter on multiple occasions (this did not work on any of the occasions) - Dropped a box on his foot because of his carelessness - Insisted on showing me the Donald Duck impersonator he hired for his daughter's birthday (I have no idea why) In addition, the move was incredibly slow. I spoke to the owner of the company - Serge - at the end of the move and he told me it was because one of the two buildings from which we moved had very long hallways and two elevators. I agree that this made things more difficult but the move could still have easily been completed more quickly had we had two competent movers who spent a few minutes planning things out and showed just a little bit of urgency during the move. Finally, they did not have basic proper equipment including something to hold open door (they spent 5 minutes at each building breaking up pieces of cardboard) and enough shrink wrap to cover two mattresses. I'm sure that, based on what I heard about them previously, this company is perfectly competent on a good day but our move was not that day and I wouldn't risk your move either. RESPONSE TO JOSEPH While I appreciate that Joseph took the time to respond to my review, the response completely misses the point. It is true that nothing was damaged and that movers need to pace themselves. It is certainly not true that no expense was incurred. Despite the challenges associated with the elevator and hallway in one of the buildings, there is no question that this move could have been completed in 6 or 7 hours. I've moved apartments many times. I know how fast good movers can typically get stuff out of and into an apartment. These guys were moving at a glacial pace by comparison, leading to an inflated bill. Joseph mentions that Serge (the guy managing the move) rounded the number of hours down from 9.5 to 9. This is true but in no way did it bring the bill to anything remotely reflective of the number of hours that should have been worked. UPDATE Without any prompting on my part, Serge reached out to me on June 11 over text and offered a $200 refund. I appreciate the gesture and think that it speaks well of the company that they made the offer without any prior commitment on my part to update this review. As such, I've changed it from two to three stars.
