Great place but the bartender( white lady with white shorts hair,) today September 30 was horrible didn't attend us but every other person that came in AFTER us she did. I Had to walk to her and ask if they were still serving drinks, and order my drinks in a bar that was almost empty (8 people) while she sat there and played on her phone. I was at the bar for an hour, and after walking to her, ordering my drink and finishing it, she still didn't attend us( It honesty had to do a lot with everybody in the bar was light skin and we were brown) If you go, I recommend going when the rooftop is open and the bartender with dark hair is there, she's the best. Updated new review. Was there this past Tuesday. A shorter blond was the bartender. Was not busy but counting me there were 4 sitting at the bar. She stayed on her phone texting with her back to us which to me in inexcusable. If it's slow and you want to text, I'm OK with that but to have your back to the customers? A friend recently moved into the neighborhood and wanted to go see the Bulls play so I drove over and met her there. It was during the week so not too crowded. Loved the hardwood floors and over all look of the bar. The bartender was very nice and checked in on us often enough. The prices very reasonable too. Filled with locals. The place is some what small, but you'll only notice that on busy nights (weekends). Relaxed crowed, low ceilings, hard wood floors, pool table, and an online jute-box. Through late spring until early fall (weather depending) the backyard is open...which is my favorite part. Unfortunately for the first time in my life I had to deal with discrimination at a place of business. I was out with my investment partners from California at a pizza place down the road . We then decided to catch the rest of the nfl game at a local bar . We unfortunately decided to come to Bobby Gs . It was our off day so all of us were not dressed in our usual business attire . We were casual dressed mind you were all clean cut . A few of us are of Latino decent. As we entered the bar we glanced and said hello to the bartender . A middle aged short Caucasian woman was working . She didn't bother to say hello or welcome . She looked at us with a grin on her face and continued talking to what seemed to be the bar regulars . We waited for a good 10 mins until she finally came over and looked at us with a " what do you want look" on her face .A few of us drank Jameson and a few Hennessy which we ordered . Her response was " you are all at the wrong bar." We nervously laughed and looked at each other. She can back poured us out shots and walked away. We really couldn't believe what just happened. We took our shots and called it a night because our mood was not in its best after that . One of us actually caught her saying it on his Snapchat which we look back at sometimes. So unfortunate that we are in 2019 and still deal with this type of behavior. This bar needs to make staff adjustments for its own sake . read more

So, it's taken me about a year to get in this place. i don't know why i was apprehensive about coming into this bar. First time our experience was great nice welcoming young bartender for me & my husband. It was afternoon happy hour time and a great time. Then we went there another afternoon and older short blonde lady is very rude and not welcoming AT ALL. We ordered our 1 drinks each and left to another bar thats how uncomfortable she makes the mood & its happened twice with the same lady (we had tried the bar again thinking maybe it was a bad day or something for her but no shes really like that so we left again after our 1 drink) but now when we drive past and see her working we keep on driving because she is racist towards young Hispanics. Havnt been back since. (P.S A bar makes money when younger ppl are the ones who keep buying drinks & buckets not the regulars who sit drinking their 1 miller lite for 2 hours) read more

I fell like giving this place 2 stars is being generous, but oh well, I will call it charity work. The place looks nice... and that's about where the good parts end. Its very small, yes there is an outdoor area but you have to fight your way through a very cluttered interior that has very poor seating arrangement and watch out when you go to buy a bucket of beer. $18 for 5 bottles of domestic? Sorry but the Miller Lites I got from here did not taste any better to justify a $6 a bucket more, price tag in comparison to the $12 buckets at Toms Tap or Lawlors. So that's all I have to say about this place. If you got $$ to spend and don't care about getting ripped off then this is a good place to be. read more

This is a great spot! Parking is rough, but we were there on a Wednesday night and didn't have a problem. There to celebrate a friend's engagement, we practically took over the bar. This is a small place, but with good service. Liz, our bartender, was hilarious and awesome! This is for sure a great dive bar atmosphere. read more

I used to like this place alot a few years ago. There was different management but I heard that manager and her girlfriend/partner opened up their own spot. No food and cant bring food in. They have some peanuts and chips. A fairly young rowdy crowd. They have a cool beer garden in the back with its own bar. I've never seen a place with a bar outside (except downtown) so this is pretty cool if you could get variety of drinks out there but really just a beer and shot joint. read more

Nice clean bar, most nights the crowd is small and service is excellent. The biggest problem with this bar is that depending who bartends they attract and bring in gang bangers and make the crowd uncomfortable and choose to leave. read more
