My fiancé reached out on Tuesday via text to both Mike and Shannon to set up a ride for the upcoming Saturday (my birthday). Didn't hear back so he called Mike on Wednesday. I texted Mike and Shannon myself on Thursday knowing it was a shot in the dark. We figured they were busy and surely someone would get back to us before the weekend, but we were wrong. I really wanted to go for a ride and had Monday off too, so I followed up on Saturday morning and finally got a response. After some back-and-forth over the weekend we finally got a ride set up for Monday, only for the ride to be canceled the night before due to some emergency on their end. While Mike was very nice on the texts exchanged (thus the 2 stars instead of 1), the amount of communication attempts necessary to get a response was really frustrating. If customers feel like they have to hound you to get your business, they're certainly not going to try again a second time much less recommend you to anyone else.

The mystical building was unreal. Be warned if you very motion sickness I got queasy! Matt at the mine tour was also great! Loved this so much I came back to hear the ghost tour by Michael! So good! I got lucky as I was the only one on the tour so I basically got it private tour and Michael's storytelling is off the chain! Love the multimedia to accent his stories. The young woman giving the tour was apathetic at best during the tour. She also completely skipped the elevator ride, saying it was too crowded. That removes all illusion of actually "going down in the mine". The kids with us asked "why didn't we go down in the mine!?" Then the mystery shacks tour guide seemed like he was doing us a favor by even being there. Sorry, did we disturb your day here guy? We ate in the restaurant. Food was ok, expensive, but ok. Service was good. Don't appreciate the political bumper stickers on the wall but whatever. Lastly it was two days before Christmas and nary a decoration to be found. Not a bit deal here but it would have been nice to see any holiday decorations. Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa-I'd take it.

The guides were polite, knowledgeable and took the time to prepare us for the ride, including how to deal with the temperment of our assigned horses. The guide let us ladies lock our purses in his truck since we couldn't bring them on the ride for safety reasons. They also gave us pouches to hang on the saddles for water, cameras, etc. The gentleman who led our tour was very funny and patient with our larger group. You could tell he loved his line of work. I think the tour was also longer than an hour but we weren't complaining....we had a ball. As a matter of fact, we are planning another trip soon. FYI, it is set within the Goldfield Mining Town which is fun for mine tours, gift shops, staged gun fights, etc. This place was a lot of fun.

This tour was actioned packed with hiking, biking, horseback riding, and my favorite: whitewater rafting on the Snake River. We saw much of the beautiful scenery and amazing geological features in both parks, bison and elk too! The lodging was comfortable within the parks, and in the fun town of Jackson. I was very satisfied with the meals. We dined at the lodges, delicious restaurants, and a very popular brewery in Jackson. While on the road we had picnic lunches from market delis.
