Crossroads Farm

The amenities offered at Crossroads Farm, at first glance, appear and sound incredible. However,…read moreafter several months of boarding there, I began to have a feeling that my horse was not being tended to per the contract. To verify that my horse was not being given his supplements and also not being turned out regularly, which I paid for, I devised a way to keep track of my horse's care and found out my hunch was correct. Even after voicing my concerns to the barn owner twice, nothing changed. I believe socioeconomics played a big role in the lack of care for my horse. As a school teacher, I was not one of the clients at Crossroads Farm whose horse was in training nor was I able to afford regular lessons. Neither of these variables should have diminished the care that my horse was guaranteed in my contract and the services I was paying to receive. I was a client at another hunter jumper barn for many years and never experienced this type of "you are less than" regardless of a training program, going to shows, or how many lessons I took. That barn made always made my horse and myself feel no less important than their other more wealthy clients. The same certainly cannot be said for Crossroad Farms.

While she went to go ask an old lady came by and was very rude basically told me to leave. Not very nice considering I am looking to get my daughter lessons. So a little off putting. I also called 10 times over a 3 hour span and no one answered.

This is a great place to board your horse!!! It is very clean and welcoming…read more The facility is well looked after with the owner Max on the property. Max kindly introduced himself to familiarize himself with new faces that would be coming to Triple L. He responds timely to my texts. We had some difficulty loading our horse and I called and he came right out to assist. He got out his lasso and it did the trick quickly. Our horse Travis loves it there. Thank you for such a wonderful place to spend time with our horse.

After owning and stabling horses for over 25 years and never…read moreencountering a problem, I stabled my horse at Triple L Stables in Gilbert, Az, which was a big mistake. My horse was there 3 days before we noticed that he was not eating the alfalfa pellets. Initially, the owner, Max had told us that his facility fed alfalfa pellets but we could feed alfalfa hay so long as we brought it in and fed it ourselves.  After the 3 days, we took our horse to a local rodeo and prior to leaving we noticed our horse had not eaten his pellets. At the rodeo, we confirmed that he would not eat the pellets at all. Our poor horse was starving and dropping weight. We switched him back to alfalfa hay. I called the owner and reported this to him. He stated that the horse had eaten the pellets, which was not true. Three of us saw the trough full of pellets when we picked him up. I told the owner that we would be switching him back to hay. He asked me if I was going to be feeding our horse daily because he would not do that. I responded with yes. He then stated for the very first time that he would not allow hay on his property, because it's messy and causes too many flies, which was contrary to what he told us before we signed the boarding agreement. He stated that his place was not the right one for us and that we needed to go elsewhere. He was insistent that we find a new place immediately. I told him we would move out and asked for a refund since I paid him in advance for the month. He stated he would pro rate the board and refund the balance. When it came time to the refund, the owner stated that he was going to continue billing me on a daily basis until he rented out our horse's stall. I reminded him that he asked us to move out. He refused to refund me the amount he withheld until he rented out the stall. I paid him $325 for the month , which the stall was only rented for 7 days (horse was only there for 3 days). He refunded me $152 and stated he was being generous. I reminded him that he canceled the contract and breached the agreement. When it comes to business, this man has no conscience or moral compass.

I was able to ride a lot of different horses there because I had gotten the hang of riding really fast, so they wanted me to keep trying new things. I was here about one/two years. It was great, until I went on a trail ride with my instructor and a few other experienced students. Nearing the end of the ride, the horse I was riding got spooked and took off at a gallop, causing the other horses to spook as well. I had never galloped before, so I stayed on as long as I could before I was thrown. I injured my elbow and had bruised tissue in my hip. After I had recovered from that experience, I was afraid to canter like I used to. As soon as I got back we went to normal lessons that involved centering. I wasn't ready mentally to canter, but the instructor (Lisa) Kept trying to get me to canter. After I wouldn't canter she got a little frustrated. That was the first of the problems. As the weeks passed by she kept on filling the classes with five kids, including me, at a time. Most of which didn't know how to control their horses very well. The arena was packed and I didn't feel safe. Then my instructor tried to put me on a horse I had prior issues with. When I brought up my concerns, she tried to put me on a different horse that hadn't been ridden in a long time and they had to call someone to get permission to use. That was my last time ever going there. I left as soon as i heard her try to call someone. Im sad about that though because I had so much fun riding here. I hope to revisit this place, but i will most likely be looking for a different place to ride in the future.

BEWARE of the owner, he makes promises with no intentions of following through with them…read more I would have done zero stars but there is no option for 0. I had to take a month long work trip with very little notice and after looking and talking to multiple horse boarding places I decided to go with Oasis. First we talked on the phone he said he had two 12x20 stalls next to each other with all day turn out. I made him aware that one of my horses is 21 and has severe ring bone and arthritis and definatley needs daily turn out. Also very important my 21 year old gets her 12 pounds senior feed daily or she will loose weight. He said no problem ill take good care of them. When I got there to look at the facility the stalls were only 16x16, really small for 16 hand horses. He reasured me they would be turned out all day, daily and only in the stalls at night. Yelp just said I couldn't have over 5000 characters so I had to really shorten this. Long story short my 2 horses got turned out 1 time in 30 days, my horses did not get there grain and my 21 year old horse appears to have lost atleast 75 pounds, missing there new halters and lead rope. He promised me my horses would be well taken care of. He told me they sent everyone a daily report on water intake, stall cleaning, turnout time and food eaten. I thought wow thats cool never had a facility do that before. He seemed like a very nice and knowledgeable man so I agreed to board my 2 horses with him. A normal border can always hand walk a horse during irrigation or rain, ride them or put in arena but I was 1600 miles a way so I trusted him to do what was needed and he didnt even try. I feel so bad for putting my horses in this situation. And, to put it nicely I really dislike the owner because not only did he totally neglect my horses and there needs he caused me enormous stress for a month. Soooo dissapointed! Feel free to call contact me through messenger if you want more info. There is so much more to this but yelp only allows you to right so much. Misty Beck
