You know that you have found the right stylist when you drive 1/2 hour to "follow him" to another location of Bob Steele salon. This is what happened to me after I found Wes. Wes "fixed" a bad haircut for me at the Bob Steele salon at MAA. He listened so well, and gave me the best haircut ever. I went from a frizzy squirrel to a sleek, bob cut. Wes explained to me that natural curly hair should never have a point cut, but blunt. I had tried to share this twice with my last stylist. You know that feeling when you have the perfect haircut? I do. So! Wes moved up to the East Cobb, Marietta Bob Steele location, and I thought nothing of commuting up to see him. My second experience with him was as good as my first. I have been going here for years, and when I my previous stylist had to leave, I was happy to meet Wes. He is a thoughtful and sincere professional. DO NOT BOOK WITH COCO I have cried three times over the weekend about my hair!!!!! I booked a haircut with this salon after using Bob Steele in Roswell, many times. I went in for a simple trim on my layers after getting my hair dyed at a different location. I had a shag style with choppy layers. They put me with an intern, which I wasn't aware of until she started cutting my hair. I had asked for a trim on my layers, but I started noticing that she wasn't cutting layers. She was just cutting random pieces. I then asked her to do my bangs in an inverted V, and she basically told me she didn't know how to do that. She told me that it was her first day on the job and her work really shows that. My hair doesn't curl in its natural waves anymore. It sticks out in Tufts, and overall just looks super uneven. SO DISAPPOINTED AND SAD. Brown is her work. Blonde was 2 days before. read more

This was my first time ever coming to Bob steele salon in Marietta. I was seen by Wes, and asked for a balayage with very cool tones of blonde in my hair, and to get rid of all of the brassy pieces. I showed a reference photo of my hair from a previous balayage, so I know that what I was going for was attainable, but this was my hair after the first visit. I wasn't happy so I reached out to a manager and was only offered to come back the following week and have my hair done again, unfortunately by the same hair stylist. After originally spending 4.5 hours the first time, I then spent another 2 and a half hours there for the hair stylist to tell me at the end that he had not accomplished what I came in for. Some strands of my hair are three different colors, and also still very brassy. I was basically given highlights when I asked for a balayage. I'm giving a 2 star review because of the fact that they offered to do my hair again for free, but I will not be returning nor would I recommend you this salon. read more

He is personable and takes the time to really understand his clients. I'm so lucky that I found him. The Salon itself is very nice and staff is very friendly, however, I have gone to Olivia, and she is sweet, but I'm not sure she knows how to cut hair or has experience enough to charge $58. I went to her prior to this last time and even tho she didn't cut my hair the way it should have been, I gave her another shot 9 months later, only to realize she is still the same. I told her I wanted a pixie but she just gave me a short hair cut that she razor cut and nothing was blended evenly. Also, at the end she never gave me the opportunity to see the back of my hair...maybe cause she knew she didn't do a great job? She's a sweet girl, but I won't be going to her again. read more

I went to Bob Steele many times, but my hairdresser moved up to a category so high I could no longer afford her, so I saw a different stylist. I literally looked like Lord Farquad. It was cut unevenly and far too short. The ends of my hair looked like a broom. I called and said that I was not happy with my haircut, and they put me with the same girl who didn't cut it right the first time. It was like trying to put out a fire with a children's tea-set cup. There was no hope, I had to wait until it grew out. Worst three months of my life, and worst way to spend 200 dollars on a cut and color. Cut your own hair. read more

I've absolutely loved this salon & Olivia since I started going last year. I just recently had an appointment with Olivia, and after leaving I just wasn't loving how my hair turned out, Jennifer & Margo (I hope I am spelling this correctly, and I am sorry If I am not) were AMAZING about hearing my concern about my hair (my money pieces were just a tad too light) and were so great about getting me in for an appointment to fix it. I just had my re-do appointment with Olivia.. she was an absolute angel about hearing what I wanted changed & she got it fixed with some toner & im OBSESSED. I won't ever go to another salon, everyone at Bob Steele is so nice, so friendly & are so genuine if you have a concern/problem. Went in at 3pm for a trim and lady told me they are closing early. Sign says they close at 6 so not sure what kind of business they're running. The disadvantage is that they are located in a shopping center that meets all the needs of the community. I wish they had rented the space to a similar business that can manage to meet patrons needs by being available to provide needed services. read more

Only reason they get 1 star is because the manager was super nice and welcoming. They say they cut men's hair but it's definitely NOT a place to get a men's hair cut. I have a simple classic men's hair style and now I have spiked hair. I look like a little kid that got a botched hair cut from his mom. I gave clear instructions that I wanted it the same but shorter and cleaner. My hair stylist decided to cut it so short and high that my part is not clean, hair sticks out all over and it's impossible to style even with heavy product in it. NOT what I was looking for at all. Will NEVER go here again or refer anyone to get their hair done here (at least not men). read more

Over quarantine I box dyed my brown hair caramel brown. But it turned orange, not rly a surprise. I went to this salon to get my hair back to BROWN and get a TRIM. I was there for 4 and a half hours! First Damaris dyed my whole head RED?? I was confused but she told me that she needed to do it would get brown. I was so excited to get my hair back to my brown color! My hair was also long. Long curly hair. When Damaris trimmed it she cut layers so short when we just asked her to cut off dead ends and make the layers better. She didn't do that and cut sooooo much off. My hair was wet when we left so I thought it was dark because if that. No. Instead of dying my hair back to my brown color she made it PITCH BLACK!!! It's almost BLUE I hate it my hair is acctually blue black. the layers in the front r to my eyes and before they where to my shoulders. when straight my hair was to my waist now it is only a little below the shoulders! I'm so upset I hate my hair now. Never going back my hair is a wreck! read more

I've been going to Van Michaels in Sandy Springs for a long time--even though I live right by this Bob Steele Salon. My favorite stylist went on maternity leave, so gave this salon a try. I'm so glad I did...it's less than 2 miles from my house and my stylist, Peyton, did an awesome job. Best in every category! Peyton cuts my hair, and it is perfect every time. No stress at all, I can just relax because I know I am in good hands. Jenn, the manager at this location is great too. Truly wants the best for the clients. One time, I needed a hair cut ASAP and was unable to see Peyton. So I saw someone new, which ended up a little uneven and not loving it like usual. Jenn checked me out, and casually asked how do I like my hair cut and I told her it was kinda "meh". She was very prompt and insistent that they fix it! So I let a top stylist fix it as best she could (which she could totally tell it was uneven). The best part was not only was that hair cut taken care of, but my next one was half price. This example is a few years ago, but left me knowing what GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE really is. read more

Fabii absolutely ruined my hair. The worst most unprofessional experience I've ever had with a salon. Had been here a few times with mediocre results, but just had first visit with Fabii and she has 100% Destroyed my hair and worst of all seemed to have no idea what she was doing. All I wanted was roots done and highlights toned down. Discussed at length how I did not want to go dark and wanted a subtle change. She used a blue/black dye unbeknownst to me, shampooed my hair about 5 times thinking it would wash out?? panicked and tried to lift it with a chemical- had to keep asking advice from senior stylists about how to proceed- left it on too long and turned my hair streaks of blue/gray!! Even in the wash my hair has so brittle couldn't get a comb through it. When I mentioned this to Fabii she said I could sit for a conditioning treatment but she didn't have time to do that. Finally had someone step in and they just kept layering gloss upon gloss on in a desperate attempt to conceal the blue. Utter disaster. And not so much as an apology from Fabii- just let me know her next client had arrived and could she move my bag from her station. Classy. Had to go to another salon to attempt a color correction and was told it was 100% the worst thing she'd ever seen. It is so damaged now that it will take "months and months and hundreds of dollars to correct and even then it will never be what it was". As it stands it's too damaged to do anything to it now lest she was afraid it would break and fall out. Just have to live with it. The manager called me and offered for me to come back In a few months when my hair has had time to heal and pay for services to try to correct it!?? Unbelievable. read more

I went here to dye my hair blonde. Well you see they added multiple charges without telling. They said it would be 208, and what did it end up being 343! You cannot charge a customer another 100+ dollars without telling them. This is the second time it has happened. I hope Bob Steele is happy he is ripping off customers. read more

I left work early to get my hair cut and colored at Bob Steele Salon in Marietta. Because of the shooting on 75, traffic is obviously horrible and being routed around Marietta. I called them 6 times with no luck because their phone wasn't working to tell them that I was going to be a few minutes late. When I finally got ahold of them at 5:40, they said if I were more than 10 minutes late they would not be able to see me. I tried to explain to them that it wasn't my fault, that this was unusual circumstances, and asked if there was anything that they could do. She went to talk to the stylist, and when she came back, said that the stylist said that if I were more than 10 minutes late she would not be able to cut my hair because she double books her clients and wouldn't have time to do both of us. At that point, I told her that I was not interested in being a client of that salon, that I was not happy with the way they were treating me as a brand new first time client, and that would I pay good money to have my hair done, I expect more than being double booked. Impressed! I've been going to Van Michael Salon of East Cobb for the past year and although they do a pretty good job with my hair, I feel they are extremely overpriced and I hate driving the 20 mins over there and its a pain to make an appointment. I'd seen Bob Steele Salon many times as its located in the same strip mall as my grocery store and a few favorite restaurants so I decided to give it a shot. I went on their website and was able to schedule my appointment online which I love! I travel a lot for work so its difficult for me to schedule appointments way in advance. I love the convenience of being able to book around my schedule easily online. I scored a same day appointment for highlights and cut with Brittany and was pleasantly surprised! The salon is very nice and the staff very friendly. Its more calm and spread out compared with Van Michael. Brittany did a fantastic job on my color and cut and styled my hair perfectly. She paid attention to the way I had it styled when I walked in the door and gave me a great blowout! I also took advantage of the paraffin hand wax while my foils were setting and Brittany gave a great head massage. The best part was the price! While I was paying $150 at Van Michael for cut and color, I only paid $83 (actually $66.40 because they gave me 20% as it was my first visit). What a deal! I also liked that they didn't try hard to sell me products. That always turned me off at Van Michael. Very impressed with this salon and I will definitely be back! read more
