After perusing the assorted yummy veggies being sold at the outdoor part of the market, the hubby noticed a car show was also going on there, too. (Note: is my spouse the only one with a near superhuman ability to sniff out a car show?) Anyway, I used this as an opportunity to check out the indoor area (it's called Pybus Market), which was housed in a renovated old steel mill and reminded me a little of San Francisco's Ferry Building (but without the insane prices). As I sampled a lovely gouda at the resident cheese shop, I noticed the lovely wine bar next door to it... and this, my friends, is how I found Jones of Washington. This intimate little tasting room features wines by the bottle or glass, or for a $5 tasting fee you can sample up to six of their fine wines. The fee is refundable with any bottle purchase. I chose three whites and three reds, with bottle prices ranging from $10 to $50, so there's pretty much a price range for everyone. I settled on buying a bottle of their sweet (but not *too* sweet) bottle of their Riesling. Well, wouldn't you know it, they were actually having a killer special on Riesling by the case so I ended up with 12 bottles to take home! The service could not have been friendlier here, by the way. They also sell various wine-related merchandise as well.

What a great idea for an event. Once guests signed up to attend, answered game questions and registered through EventBrite, Annie followed up with printable and suggested wines to enjoy together. The purchase of the wine is optional however it was so nice to be introduced to some unique wines. Since Annie is not an employee of a winery she is unlimited with the wine selection. All the wines suggested for our party were easy to pick up at the local grocery store. We spent the evening on Zoom laughing, playing games and drinking wine all from the comfort of our own living rooms. That was just what we needed. I can't wait to gather another group of friends to see what she has in store again!!! Ps. This is an event and not a hidden wine sale. Sorry I did not take a picture to share!!! But the pre Covid Pic proves we like wine.

Annie took my idea and made it into something much more special than I could have dreamed up on my own. Altogether we hosted 10 different virtual events for my clients and everyone had a wonderful time. Annie guided me thru the wine selection process, helped keep an eye on our budget, coordinated the shipping of all the wine, and of course gave an excellent presentation where everyone had fun and learned a ton about the wines we were drinking. If you're looking for a way to break the Zoom fatigue were all feeing and engage your customers in a unique way or just have a fun evening with friends Eventful Wines will do an amazing job for your group. Thank you Annie!

Terra Blanca Winery & Estate Vineyard - Chard So Hard

I absolutely adore this winery: the wine, the space, the people, the food, and the community…read more The Wine: The wines are consistently amazing and are made to be aged, without the usual high price tag that comes with that. I like bold, flavorful wine, and they have that in spades. I thought I hated Merlot, for being generally weak, but Terra Blanca's Merlot is fantastic. I thought I only liked red wine, but their Albarino is now my go-to summer white wine. I thought Rose was too sugary of a wine, but their Rose has incredible flavor without heft. I'm an enduring fan of their Block 8 Syrah, but the Cab Sauv is a close second. The Space: It's gorgeous. The building is beautiful, the grounds are well-maintained, the vineyard (which you can tour at some of their events) feels old-world-meets-tech, the cellars are amazing, and everything feels welcoming. Like, I don't just want to go here, I want to spend time here. The People: The employees are wonderful: welcoming, knowledgeable, happy, humble, and it never feels like they're just trying to sell you something. They're honest and upbeat, even at times when I *know* they must be feeling rushed or stressed. It makes the whole place feel like hanging out with friends and neighbors (but in a classy way). This is *not* the kind of winery where they pour, recite a litany about the varietal, and walk away. This is the kind of winery where you can walk in and say "I know nothing about wine" and they'll be excited to take you wherever your curiosity about wine takes you. The Food: I've eaten at the Thursday happy hours, at buffet banquets, and at a tasting/pairing event. Each time the food has been delicious, unique, and well-paired. And it's all from scratch, locally grown & grazed, etc. even their charcuterie boards are lovely (and a lot...you will not leave hungry). I recommend trying the flatbread pizzas off their wood-fired grill. Oh, and the menu changes quarterly, so I've yet to get bored with anything. The Community: In addition to this place feeling like a community, and growing one with their wine clubs and virtual tasting group, they're involved in the Tri-Cities community. I love when local small businesses support each other and non-profits in the area! They have regular events and banquet fundraisers for orgs like Children's Developmental Center and TROT. Oh, the prices? I'd call them good. High enough to convey the quality, but low enough to be approachable even for people who are just starting to try wine. And they do a lot of sales and discounts throughout the year. The tasting room prices are spot-on, which keeps Terra Blanca feeling inclusive. TL;DR: Tasty wine at affordable prices, great customer service, welcoming atmosphere, excellent food, fun events

She was incredibly attentive and took the time to answer all of my questions, which I really appreciated as a first-time guest. The food and wine were excellent. The atmosphere was relaxing, the service was outstanding, and the quality of everything I tried was top-notch. Overall, I had a very enjoyable experience and highly recommend Terra Blanca to anyone looking for great wine, great food, and genuinely warm service.
