My family recently just purchased a 2017 Lincoln MKZ from Bob Ridings in Decatur. Our whole experience was wonderful. Karah and Evin were beyond helpful and went the extra mile to not only get us the perfect vehicle but a wonderful deal! I will definitely be back! Thanks so much for the great experience and vehicle! read more

A ONCE GREAT EXPERIENCE TURNED INTO A NIGHTMARE! I originally had a great experience with this dealership and was very happy with my first purchase. Unfortunately, my second experience has been nothing short of a disaster, and I feel completely misled and taken advantage of. I traded in my first vehicle purchased through them and was sold a vehicle that has turned out to be a total lemon. It has had nothing but issues since I got it, and the dealership's lack of transparency and accountability worsened the situation. I called them for inspections and repairs while the vehicle was still under the Lemon law, and they drug their feet until it was no longer valid. I wasn't informed that the cost of paying off my trade-in would be added to my loan initially, leaving me in a position where the loan is worth far more than the car itself. This has made it impossible for me to secure further loans or get a decent rate on another vehicle. Things got even worse when I tried to trade in the vehicle to get out of this mess. I was shocked to learn that, within minutes, they ran six hard inquiries on my credit in an attempt to approve me for a luxury car I did not want, did not ask for, and certainly could not afford. The vehicle had higher mileage than the one I was trying to trade in, and the monthly payments were hundreds of dollars more, making the payment over 1K a month... more than my house payment. As a result, my credit score has been severely impacted, making it even harder for me to get a reasonable deal elsewhere. I was thankful I purchased an extended warranty through their dealership before things went entirely south, allowing me to take the car into THEIR DEALERSHIP for repairs. However, they still need to fix the issue after paying the deductible. I had no choice but to take it to another dealership in a different city, but now my vehicle is being held hostage there for a claims adjustor to inspect it, leaving me stranded for up to 48 hours in addition to the eight hours it has already been there, and however long it takes for repairs-- so probably 4-7 days. What's worse, I'm not even being offered a rental car. The rental reimbursement only covers $35 for every six hours the vehicle is being repaired, not while it's being held for inspection, which is mandatory, or my claim will be dismissed and stricken. In short, I went from being a satisfied customer to feeling completely trapped by this dealership's unethical sales practices. They tricked me into taking out a loan worth far more than the vehicle was worth, and now I'm stuck with a lemon. The experience has been frustrating and disheartening, and I would NOT recommend this dealership to anyone. They've proven that used car salespeople have a bad reputation for a reason. Run while you can. read more

I felt this was a good experience until we were ready to drive away and then were told there was only one key fob with the purchase price of the van after being told we would get two. Since it wasn't in writing, we had to pay an extra almost $400 for the second key. Note that we paid full asking price and the second key was all we negotiated for. Kristina Langford"s change of attitude was disappointing. I wasn't as cautious as I normally am because she was friendly and likeable. I wish I had negotiated a lower price so then when we were told we had to pay $400 for a second key we wouldn't have felt so cheated. It is a nice vehicle and we are glad we have it. Just not happy with a verbal promise that turns out not to be valid. read more

My experience has been they don't care what I want they tried to sell me what they wanted me to buy. Everyone I talked to flat out lied! They told me they had a vehicle I was interested in to get me to drive to Decatur, to try to sell me something different. Eventually admired after my insistence that my desired vehicle was, "no longer available, sold yesterday", long before I was conned into driving to high pressure showroom. Totally bad experience, can not recommend. They have been pestering me ever since for the last year. I keep blocking their numbers n they keep using a different number!. Impossible to get rid of the crooks. Beware‼ read more

we had our car serviced for new brakes and immediately brake dust every where on front driver side and brakes acting funny when you are stopping. Never had an issue before. take it back and now RIDINGS is saying it needs new rotors and it's our fault because we are braking to hard. odd never mentioned the rotors when you change the pads and problem only happened after you did work in our vehicle. absolutely avoid this place. Ridings/Xamis family should be ashamed of how their employees try to cheat and rob customers. Last car we buy from them. CON JOB AT ITS BEST read more

After years of not being listened to on my own car care - today I found out that the alignment I needed so badly a couple years ago was done incorrectly by Bob Ridings Service Staff, inserting my rear shims backwards. Even after I explained that the car was not riding completely smooth, they assured me nothing was wrong with the alignment. So, now I've ruined a set of tires early, and have to pay a second $300 for someone else to remove and reset shims. Never going back again, never buying another car from them. read more

I recently purchased a 2016 Lincoln MKX. It was the easiest vehicle transaction I have had in 30 years. Dalton Nicholls, Jason, Dave and Keith all worked together to make it go smoothly. I live couple hours from the dealership, most everything was taken care of prior to picking up my vehicle , so I spent only a couple of hours at the delivery. Would definitely visit Bob Ridings for my next vehicle purchase. read more

My initial dealing with Bob Ridings was positive. We were on the hunt for a used 2013 or 2014 Lincoln MKZ and Bob Ridings had the best selection and offered MKZ's that are Lincoln certified. We found one we liked so we traveled to Decatur to test drive the car. We were met by a salesman who set us up to drive the car. The test drive went well, the car we drove met are needs but was a bit more then we wanted to spend, we informed the salesman of this and left the salesman a very detailed "want" list for the car we desired including what trades we had and what we expected to get for them as well as the amount of money out of pocket we were willing to spend. Approximately a week later, the Bob Ridings salesman called us and told us that he had spoken to his manager and to bring our trades in and he thought we would be able to make a deal on the car we test drove. We made an appointment with the salesman to try and make the deal. We drove the trade in vehicles to Bob Ridings in Decatur, we arrived to the appointment approximately 10 minutes early. When we arrived, another party was test driving the car that we were interested in buying. This in itself isn't illegal, but, in my humble opinion, a bad business practice as we were there to deal on that specific car. In spite of what was happening, we continued on with the process. We asked the salesman what was going on and the salesman made the comment, "This is the nature of the used car business", he then tried to show us other MKZ's that we had already looked at and weren't interested in. Since the other party was only test driving the car, we decided to have our trades appraised for trade in value by Bob Ridings personnel. During this time, the party who was test driving the car, that we made an appointment to come in and try to buy, decided they needed to take it over night for an extended test drive. At that time we were less than happy about what was going on. The salesman returned from obtaining the trade in appraisals, stating that they had another MKZ with the equipment we wanted only it was a year newer and of course more money, we made known our displeasure of what had just happened, he stated that the other party arrived literally 5 minutes before us and there was nothing he could have done. It should also be noted that we were told that other interested party was the brother of the service manager and that they were 99.9% sure they were going to buy it. At that point, we got up and left. As I stated earlier, what happened isn't illegal and they are in the business of selling cars, but they could have simply told the other party that we were essentially in the middle of making a deal for the car with another party and if that deal fell through, they could have their shot. So, in summary, we made an appointment, we brought 2 vehicles to them for trade in, we had our time wasted. They could have simply held the car back until we had either bought the car, (which we had planned to do), or walked away, no harm no foul. Now, they have lost a buyer. Even if we wouldn't have purchased that car, we most likely would have purchased another car from them at a later time, had the right one come in. Enough said, I now know our business means nothing to them and that's ok but I will tell everybody I know what happened and recommend they take there business elsewhere. Just poor business practices. Doesn't matter if your buying a Chevy or Cadillac, a Ford or a Lincoln, used car salesman are used car salesman! I've been treated better by both Chevy and Ford dealers! One would think when your buying a luxury brand maybe, just maybe you would be treated a bit better! Me thinks NOT!!!! HAHAHA!!! read more

I leased my first ever lease from here three years ago. The experience was fantastic. My sales rep, Stephanie is awesome, and Sean, the General Manager is fantastic, and Taylor, the business office manager was awesome. The experience was awesome then, and is just as awesome now, as I went in to buy out the vehicle that I leased. They didn't try to dissuade me and try pushing me into a new car, or into something else. Stephanie and Sean truly want to ensure that the customer is completely satisfied with the vehicle they bought. I've been to three other Bob Ridings dealers throughout the past five years, and this is the only one I would do business. I truly appreciate all of the people that I have done business with, and will always give them the first opportunity to earn my business in the future. I cannot say enough good about them, but actions speak louder than words, and I put my money where my mouth is and repeat my business with them. Thanks to all of you at Bob Ridings Lincoln in Decatur, all of Mr. Ridings' stores ought to have their staff learn from you. read more

Went in to look at a car, after sitting there for two hours they needed some information with my SS#. I specifically insisted NOT to run my credit score as I was going to get a loan from my bank. The manager there said that he wouldn't..While sitting at the bank parking lot getting ready to go inside I checked my email from my phone as I had an alert that someone accessed my Credit report. Come to find out, Bob Ridings performed a Hard inquiry on my credit and eventually lowered my score by 22 points. Out of all the cars I've purchased over the years this one was the worst... I would advise going somewhere else. The Rick Ridings isn't much better to be honest.. read more

I have purchased two vehicles at Ridings Decatur over the past three years. The selection of used low mileage autos at the dealership is great, as are the prices. I bought a new Suzuki AWD in 2012 and then last year (for $12,000) a 2012 Focus for my daughter. The car only had 15,000 miles and looked brand new. My salespersons were both helpful as well as personable. The only negative was the finance department: one of the "financiers" told me "all car loans today are 72 months" (which is false) and every time I asked what interest rate they were using, all he went with was "we'll worry about that later" or "I don't know," instead throwing out monthly payments and seeing what i would agree to. I know it's a typical car dealer gimmick but it's really annoying. Not all dealers pull this crap. All I need is the price of the car and the interest rate. I can use a website on my phone and easily calculate what exorbitant rate they're trying to use. Other than that, though, things were fine, and I would definitely consider buying another car from any ridings dealership, especially due to the fine selection of cars and the low prices.. Another thing: when you go, bring a bank statement or you'll have to produce one if you plan to finance through them. I've never had to do this at any other car dealer. Also, don't let them run your credit unless you are absolutely sure you want that particular car. read more

I purchased a 2006 Chrysler Sebring from Bob Ridings in Dec 2012 on an emergency basis, because I needed a car immediately to get back & forth to work in a town I was completely new to. I had a pleasant experience with my salesman George Parks, and he made me feel comfortable that this would be a reliable car. He gave me roses as they do for anyone who makes a purchase from them, and I drove off their property happy & felt as if I was in good hands. One week after purchasing this vehicle, my heat stopped working. I returned the car to their service department, went to work, then received a call from the service manager, Tim Davis, within an hour with the diagnosis. A blocked heater core...$200! I immediately asked to speak with Jason, the sales manager whom I had previously dealt with at the time of purchasing the vehicle. I expressed my frustrations to him, in that I was uncomfortable paying for any repairs a week after buying a car. We had some disagreements, and I was literally cussed out by this man, F-Bombs & all, that I made a final purchase & I was no longer his problem..... Oh, & this was after he tried to convince me to split the bill. The call ended on a bad note, and he called me back within 15mins to apologize for his language & behavior. He then said that he would get the fee waived, and reminded me that this was a "friend to friend" favor, and not business to customer. Less than a month later, the screeching sound of my brakes got to a point where it made my body cringe & I couldn't bear the noise another day. I returned the car yet again to their service dept., received a call the next day from Tim Davis, bad caliper & brake pads...$250! I didn't even put up an argument this time, I paid my deductible & let the warranty cover the rest. Also paid for my 2nd oil change on this visit. One month later, the car literally shuts off in the road, at their intersection as I was driving home from work. I get it into their service dept., received a call from Tim Davis the next day, "no problem found...but we updated the computer "chip" on the car to see if it would give us a leading light/symbol on the dashboard next time around. Car runs even better though, $65 diagnostics owed." I paid again with no issues. 5 DAYS LATER, my car shuts off at the same intersection, again on my way home from work. I get it into their service dept., receive yet another call from the infamous Tim Davis, "well at least this time the engine light came on, so now I had a lead. Broken cam shaft & crank shaft sensor...no warranty coverage, parts plus labor $287!" I paid again with no problem. 1 Week later, the battery light, in addition to the ABS & at least 3 others flashes & dings. This time, after a rough day at the office, unexpected news of twin gestation the day before, & an extremely hot day out. I took out all my emotions & frustration on Tim Davis, as well as George Parks who promised he would do his best to help in this situation...and so did my fiancé. I took the car to a local repair shop for a free diagnosis, broken alternator. I then looked over my warranty, saw that it was covered and returned it to Bob Ridings the following day. Tim Davis looked me in the eye, and said he was told by Jason to not do business with me or my fiancé anymore because of the way we acted on the prior day... as if we didn't have a reason to. He asked me to leave the property or he would contact the authorities. The car of course wouldn't start up, so he gave me a jump & sent me on my way :-) Greatest experience of my life all in a 6mnth period! Not to mention I'm still paying a note on this stupid car. Thanks a lot to all my "friends" over at Bob Ridings!! I learned a valuable life lesson. read more
