I don't know why this place has never had a review, but I think it's awesome place! A couple…read moreof months ago I dropped off a glasses prescription from Target and asked if they could fill it for me. "Sure" they said. I found the frames I wanted (they were super nice and took time selecting just the right frames) and they took care of it. A little over a week later, my glasses were back. However, because I have progressive lenses it's been hard to figure out if the prescription was too strong or the placement within the lenses was off. Either way, I'm not seeing as well as I would like. So I made an appointment on Thursday and they got me in the next morning at 7:15. Cool. Now, my appointment took a a little more time, but that was mainly because I didn't have my original exam there. So Danielle, the super nice and efficient tech and Dr. Doss were so awesome to take time to figure out exactly what the problem was. Seems like it may be a bigger issue with my right eye, but I'm glad they were willing to figure it out. They gave me a different script and placed an order for new lenses. No issues or problems. Every single person there was cheerful and pleasant. They have a large staff. That was the first doctor's office I've visited that had a kiosk check-in. I'd heard about them but I've never seen one in person. Very cool. NO PAPER OR CLIP BOARDS! It was like a kiosk at the airport...scan your ID and insurance card if you have it and then your info comes up. The exam area is much larger than it looks from the outside. I visited the Trussville location so I'm not certain about the other locations. The waiting area is spacious and the optical side is neat and orderly. The selection is not as large as it is at Schaffer, but the best part is that the frames at VisionFirst are NOT over priced. I saw a lot of frames I liked in the $185 range. A lot of name brands and also frames I've never heard of but loved the look. I can't speak for all locations of VisionFirst, but if you are needing to change eye docs or just want to try some place new, check them out!
