We love coming to Bob Evans and maybe this was a bad day, but the server was rude (most likely because she was overwhelmed) It was REALLY cold in the restaurant. (I understand it's cold outside, but it was still really cold inside. Even the lady at the table next to us said something about it) Even with how cold it was, there were gnats everywhere. So I order my husband's meal for him because sometimes he has memory issues. The server said "are you splitting this? I'm just asking because you are saying 'we' but it feels like you are ordering for him. Which is it?" My husband said it was for him so she turned to him to ask him what he wanted. Again he has memory problems and so when she said "ok got it." I had to let her know "no mushrooms and add bell peppers and onions." And my husband said "oh yeah I forgot." I ordered two eggs over medium with hash browns. I asked for banana bread with my meal. The banana bread came and I got two end pieces that were stale so I asked for biscuits instead. She brought them no problem. Our food came and the eggs were cooked perfectly. I was happy with how the food was prepared, but I kept having to kill gnats and then one landed in my food. Dined in on Easter as limited options available that day. To describe this in one word AWFUL. My server was mostly inattentive despite there being only four tables during my visit. Add to that a very obvious unpleasant odor in the air. I ordered the Turkey & Dressing platter which came with stuffing, cranberry, mashed potatoes and a choice of bread, I selected banana bread. The turkey and mashed potatoes were the only decent part of the meal, while the carrots were the MOST DISGUSTING vegetable offering I've ever been served. You know those packing peanuts that are soft enough to squish flat between your fingers, that was the texture of these AWFUL carrots. I ate only one and my palate cursed me for even putting it in my mouth. The banana bread was not brought with my meal and had to be requested. It was so-so but under baked. My wife and I, along with my father have been coming here most Sundays for around a year. While we often freeze during the winter, due to it needing updating we love the servers and staff. Our server Jose is always on duty and has an amazing personality and ability to put a smile on our faces. The managers are also attentive and actually know our orders. No matter what we get its not amazing food but its consistent food from week to week. You can tell this staff has been together along time and understand how to make customers happy. read more

We were completely ignored for 30 minutes after having ordered. Both my dining partner's and my orders were extremely late and messed up. We ended up having two servers, both of whom would disappear for 15 minutes at a time. Portions were also VERY small when they did arrive. This particular location simply needs to either be shutdown or completely renovated. It is not sanitary and every table/booth is rundown to the point where one can't even enjoy their meal because of rocking tables and chairs. The smell of urine that hits as soon as you walk thru the door is very intense. The food is what it is but gets you thinking about the conditions it's being cooked under. The wait staff is really good. One particular bad experience though had me waiting for a simple omelette for 30 minutes during a totally dead early afternoon time. I worked at this particular location for 14 years, I eat here at least once a week but recently the food and service have been completely unacceptable and most certainly not up to Bob Evans standards. I will start with a dine in experience that I had a few weeks ago, the server was not friendly at all, she never returned to our table after delivering our food. Drinks were left empty and when I asked to place a carry out order she responded with "you will have to wait a couple minutes". That is not the way you treat a paying customer and especially treat someone that is going to tip you. Tonight I called in to place an order for a whole pie and nothing else, the General manager of the store answered the phone and asked if I would like to place a carry out order I responded with yes, I would like a whole and he cuts me off and says hold on. He placed me on hold for over 7 minutes and never came back to the phone I was driving to the restaurant and got inside before he even got back on the phone so I hung up. I went inside and waited at the carry out counter while him and another manger were cashing people out, and the phone rings, this same manager that answered my call answered this one and took the persons carry out order while I was still standing there not being waited on. The female manger asked if she could help me and I told her what I wanted, the pie came out fairly quick. She hands me the bag and tells me the pie is frozen. Well thank you, I came to a restaurant to get a pie ready to eat not go home and bake it in the oven like she suggested I do. This store is the oldest standing Bob Evans and it is being run into the ground by the staff that you have placed in this store. Your general manager of all people should know how to deal with customers. The honestly sad thing about the whole situation was there were a total of 7 cars in the parking lot, they were not busy. I am usually a fan of Bob Evans restaurants, but this is without a doubt the worst I've ever been to. The staff is rude if not downright mean. The service is terrible, and the food is not even fit for my dogs. Avoid this location at all costs if you value your health and sanity. My plates were dirty, the silverware was dirty, the whole dining room was dirty, and the server was dirty. I would hate to see what the kitchen looked like. Needless to say we did not stay to eat the food so I can't review the taste. If there was one positive to this experience it is that no one in my party had to go to the hospital. read more

The servers are courteous, the food is reasonably priced, the proportions are standard, and the food is good. My only complaint is that it is usually too cold for me, and I cannot remove my coat. I had a great meal here--so great that I went off and left my purse at the table. I was an hour away from Youngstown when I remembered and I was more than a little panicked. I can't say enough about the manager and staff here, who saw my purse safely returned to me. We figured it would only take a couple seconds to purchase it. Nope... It took roughly around 20-25 minutes to just check out! There were a few other people waiting too, assuming for take-out. There were a few employees that walked right passed us who know were we waiting to check out. It looked like they were preparing a group order, BUT customer usually come first in any business. Found a piece of paper in my sausage. Told the waitress who apologized saying she's heard many thanks, but never that. Some man approached our table, with introducing himself, we assumed he was a busboy or cook by his manner of dress and hair net of a different color than his hair. He talked a lot but wasn't clear. Never just apologized, rather made some long story about berating the cooks and making them feel bad. When the waitress came back after he left, she said he took off the coffee. They were unable to removed the sausage from the bill. ??? I guess their computer screens are as ancient as their customer service. And to add insult to injury, the cashier refused to honor my 20% discount coupon that I was given because I had already received a discount, i.e., the coffee? I wish I had read the other reviews before going to this Bob Evans. We were traveling through, staying in a local hotel and wanted a quiet place to eat. We should have opted for the Chinese restaurant in town that looked like a dive. At least the ratings were better! I've always thought Bob Evans was fair, but this was bad! We were served our beverages soon after arriving. But from there it was downhill. We sat for 15 minutes before our salads were served and after asking about them, the server said they were just being made. If the place had been busy, we might have understood. As it was we were surrounded by empty booths and tables. We watched several servers walk by the nearby tables, all filled with dirty dishes. One server cleared the dishes and left dirty rags on two of the tables that sat there for most of our meal. She finally came to wipe the tables, pushing all remaining food onto the floor. When we FINALLY received our entrees, 45 minutes after sitting there, my bowl of chicken and noodles was barely warm. My husband carried it to the kitchen to be reheated. My entree should have been advertised as "noodles with chicken". There were 2 small bite-sized pieces of chicken among the broth and noodles. There is definitely a need for training here, from the management level down to the servers. Never again will I go to Bob Evans, leaving here totally turned off. The one redeeming quality were the hot biscuits with butter and honey. read more
