I went with a group of 3, on a Sunday evening. We waited about 5 minutes just to get service, when the worker talked to us, they told us that we would have to wait about 10 minutes, we waited 25 min just to still not get seated. We decided to leave and go to another restaurant. read more

We love coming to Bob Evans and maybe this was a bad day, but the server was rude (most likely because she was overwhelmed) It was REALLY cold in the restaurant. (I understand it's cold outside, but it was still really cold inside. Even the lady at the table next to us said something about it) Even with how cold it was, there were gnats everywhere. So I order my husband's meal for him because sometimes he has memory issues. The server said "are you splitting this? I'm just asking because you are saying 'we' but it feels like you are ordering for him. Which is it?" My husband said it was for him so she turned to him to ask him what he wanted. Again he has memory problems and so when she said "ok got it." I had to let her know "no mushrooms and add bell peppers and onions." And my husband said "oh yeah I forgot." I ordered two eggs over medium with hash browns. I asked for banana bread with my meal. The banana bread came and I got two end pieces that were stale so I asked for biscuits instead. She brought them no problem. Our food came and the eggs were cooked perfectly. I was happy with how the food was prepared, but I kept having to kill gnats and then one landed in my food. The comp'd my meal, but I was turned off to the food at this point and left hungry. read more

Ordered takeout. The biscuits were hard as bricks the sausage, egg and cheese omelette was undercooked and full of onions that I did not order. The hashbrowns were not cooked and still half frozen. Other than that, the utensils were OK. read more

Ordered the pot roast, mashed potatoes and carrots. I noticed the look and taste of the pot roast was terrible. Googled as to why my pot roast tasted different. Found the meat was cheap and the way it was cooked changed. Same price, cheap meat. Terrible!! read more

Our breakfast took over 45min to get to us and once we received our meal, the food was not hot. We were extremely disappointed with the service, not our waitress but the cook. read more

Dined in on Easter as limited options available that day. To describe this in one word AWFUL. My server was mostly inattentive despite there being only four tables during my visit. Add to that a very obvious unpleasant odor in the air. I ordered the Turkey & Dressing platter which came with stuffing, cranberry, mashed potatoes and a choice of bread, I selected banana bread. The turkey and mashed potatoes were the only decent part of the meal, while the carrots were the MOST DISGUSTING vegetable offering I've ever been served. You know those packing peanuts that are soft enough to squish flat between your fingers, that was the texture of these AWFUL carrots. I ate only one and my palate cursed me for even putting it in my mouth. The banana bread was not brought with my meal and had to be requested. It was so-so but under baked. This restaurant really should just close their doors before they make someone sick or worse. I feel there is no pride in what they are doing so why do it at all. Bob Evans corporate TWO WORDS, SURPRISE VISITS. read more

I love this Bob Evans and the low rating is egregious. Grace is an amazing waitress. The cook/manager they have from Wednesday through Sunday is great. Whoever they have back there Monday Tuesday is ass. Simply can't do the job. If you go on Wednesday - Sunday, it's 5 stars. If you go Monday Tuesday, it's not good. Like, at all. DISCLAIMER: I ONLY COME HERE FOR BREAKFAST read more

Let's see, the hash browns leave a coating on your tongue, tastes freezer burnt...no seasoning...terrible. I used to love the roast beef, now it's to salty and I didn't get much in my carry out order! Only 3 pieces of broccoli, dried out corn...no mashed potatoes. The biscuits were hard as rocks. I don't know what happened to this place, but management needs fired and they need to hire cooks and prep cooks who knows what they are doing. But it's Youngstown area...no one cares....If you people need a cook...let me know...I'll show you how too cook real good food!!!! WONT BE BACK! read more

This Belmont Ave store has the worst service and the staff is rude and off-putting. I thought that it was just an off day for everyone until I visited again and received the same poor service, and sour faces. The manager should train his staff with the people who train the workers at Chick-f-la! This place sucks and I will not patronize in the future. One star was given only because they wouldn't post my review otherwise. read more

Always dependable, fresh food. Had a great omelet and famous biscuits. But the clincher was our server, Grace. Fun, funny, attentive. There's a lot going on in the world now, and it's nice to know that there are people like Grace out there to give you faith in humanity. read more

Bob Evans in Austintown is fantastic! due to some family situations I have order from the one in Boardman 6 times in the past two weeks. NOT ONE order has been correct. I ordered from Austintown and everything was perfect!! Chris went above and beyond to make sure everything was correct. I will make the drive to this Bob Evans from now on even though the other one is five minutes from my house. it's really nice to get great service. read more

Message from Corporate and they made it right by refunding. I appreciate the action taken and might go to another location and try again. read more

Bob Evans - Hamburger and fries meal - American Near Me - Youngstown, Ohio

See all

Most disgusting meal I've ever had. I had the turkey dinner. World famous mashed potatoes tasted like powder potatoes, Carrots were obviously cooked in a microwave, The turkey tasted like a cheap frozen dinner, and I'm not sure what the stuffing tasted like. The one star is for the buns. read more

Food was just ok, but the service horrible, not the normal Bob Evans restaurant I normally go. Definitely not recommendable. :(

My wife and I, along with my father have been coming here most Sundays for around a year. While we often freeze during the winter, due to it needing updating we love the servers and staff. Our server Jose is always on duty and has an amazing personality and ability to put a smile on our faces. The managers are also attentive and actually know our orders. No matter what we get its not amazing food but its consistent food from week to week. You can tell this staff has been together along time and understand how to make customers happy. read more

The worst place in Youngstown Ohio. Avoid at all costs. Our waitress had blood on her hands, and my breakfast bowl had mac and cheese in it... Unless you're in Youngstown to experience the crazy. Avoid at all cost. read more

We were completely ignored for 30 minutes after having ordered. Both my dining partner's and my orders were extremely late and messed up. We ended up having two servers, both of whom would disappear for 15 minutes at a time. Portions were also VERY small when they did arrive. We were just passing through and were excited to eat at Bob Evans, since we live in a part of the country that doesn't have them. This was a very disappointing experience. read more

This particular location simply needs to either be shutdown or completely renovated. It is not sanitary and every table/booth is rundown to the point where one can't even enjoy their meal because of rocking tables and chairs. The smell of urine that hits as soon as you walk thru the door is very intense. The food is what it is but gets you thinking about the conditions it's being cooked under. The wait staff is really good. One particular bad experience though had me waiting for a simple omelette for 30 minutes during a totally dead early afternoon time. I just can't visit this place again. This location is a travesty only being saved by their wait staff. read more

I worked at this particular location for 14 years, I eat here at least once a week but recently the food and service have been completely unacceptable and most certainly not up to Bob Evans standards. I will start with a dine in experience that I had a few weeks ago, the server was not friendly at all, she never returned to our table after delivering our food. Drinks were left empty and when I asked to place a carry out order she responded with "you will have to wait a couple minutes". That is not the way you treat a paying customer and especially treat someone that is going to tip you. Tonight I called in to place an order for a whole pie and nothing else, the General manager of the store answered the phone and asked if I would like to place a carry out order I responded with yes, I would like a whole and he cuts me off and says hold on. He placed me on hold for over 7 minutes and never came back to the phone I was driving to the restaurant and got inside before he even got back on the phone so I hung up. I went inside and waited at the carry out counter while him and another manger were cashing people out, and the phone rings, this same manager that answered my call answered this one and took the persons carry out order while I was still standing there not being waited on. The female manger asked if she could help me and I told her what I wanted, the pie came out fairly quick. She hands me the bag and tells me the pie is frozen. Well thank you, I came to a restaurant to get a pie ready to eat not go home and bake it in the oven like she suggested I do. This store is the oldest standing Bob Evans and it is being run into the ground by the staff that you have placed in this store. Your general manager of all people should know how to deal with customers. The honestly sad thing about the whole situation was there were a total of 7 cars in the parking lot, they were not busy. I would recommend going to the Niles location if you want good service and food. read more

The food was good and the service was good, just have a problem with 6 staff members just hanging around talking. My server brought my salad with my food, well if she wasn't talking so much she could have brought it before my dinner was done. But other than that after a 10 hour drive the chicken fried steak was just what I needed! read more

After a long day in the car, we stopped at Bob Evans on Belmont Avenue off Rt 80 for dinner. Staff incredibly friendly, service speedy, bathrooms clean and food very serviceable. read more

Like others who reviewed this restaurant before me I am only giving this place one star because I have to. It really doesn't deserve any. I am usually a fan of Bob Evans restaurants, but this is without a doubt the worst I've ever been to. The staff is rude if not downright mean. The service is terrible, and the food is not even fit for my dogs. Avoid this location at all costs if you value your health and sanity. My plates were dirty, the silverware was dirty, the whole dining room was dirty, and the server was dirty. I would hate to see what the kitchen looked like. Needless to say we did not stay to eat the food so I can't review the taste. If there was one positive to this experience it is that no one in my party had to go to the hospital. read more

We are traveling with 3 young kids and chose this place off the highway without checking the reviews. It was after the dinner rush, but our waitress and the rest of the staff was pleasant and food came out quickly and was good and the place was clean. I can be a restaurant snob, but I was pleasantly surprised. read more

Great comfort food, excellent prices, great service!!! Great place to get a decent priced meal, and still have left overs!!!

I eat at this restaurant about twice a month. I am always very pleased with the dining experience. The servers are courteous, the food is reasonably priced, the proportions are standard, and the food is good. My only complaint is that it is usually too cold for me, and I cannot remove my coat. However, the server will turn off the fan affecting you, if you but ask. Good job, staff! read more

I had a great meal here--so great that I went off and left my purse at the table. I was an hour away from Youngstown when I remembered and I was more than a little panicked. I can't say enough about the manager and staff here, who saw my purse safely returned to me. I walked away incredibly thankful that if I was going to leave my purse somewhere, it was at such a helpful and trustworthy establishment. I will make a point of stopping by whenever I am passing by again, and I will remember to tip big! read more

I ate breakfast at this site on April 11, 2017. The waitress was very nice, very good and very attentive. While checking out the lady who took our money she barely acknowledged us. Was talking with another worker at the same time, laid our check down and couldn't find it. She was fairly rude, not at all friendly. read more

My wife and I went to this Bob Evans because we wanted banana bread from the bakery. We arrived and picked up our bread from the bakery case. We figured it would only take a couple seconds to purchase it. Nope... It took roughly around 20-25 minutes to just check out! There were a few other people waiting too, assuming for take-out. There were a few employees that walked right passed us who know were we waiting to check out. It looked like they were preparing a group order, BUT customer usually come first in any business. They didn't even apologize for us having to wait. I gave them a three star review because we never ate at this one before. Not great customer service. read more

Our trip tonight was less than what MD's offers. First counter worker turned her back to us while trying to get someone else to help us by tilting her head our way then the waitress had to decide who would seat us.Anyone who orders breakfast usually gets their food first but not tonight cold French toast cold eggs.M y family got hot burgers and hot fish, when I asked to add bacon and a extra piece of fish for my husband's order I had to reassure the waitress that I could pay for the extra she said I don't know if I can do that laughable it's bacon and fish I again reassured her that it's gonna cost and it's cool just place the order all said with a smile UNTIL MY EXTRA BACON WAS BURNED!!!my poor husband left her a tip. No thanks BOB read more

I wish I had read the other reviews before going to this Bob Evans. We were traveling through, staying in a local hotel and wanted a quiet place to eat. We should have opted for the Chinese restaurant in town that looked like a dive. At least the ratings were better! I've always thought Bob Evans was fair, but this was bad! We were served our beverages soon after arriving. But from there it was downhill. We sat for 15 minutes before our salads were served and after asking about them, the server said they were just being made. If the place had been busy, we might have understood. As it was we were surrounded by empty booths and tables. We watched several servers walk by the nearby tables, all filled with dirty dishes. One server cleared the dishes and left dirty rags on two of the tables that sat there for most of our meal. She finally came to wipe the tables, pushing all remaining food onto the floor. When we FINALLY received our entrees, 45 minutes after sitting there, my bowl of chicken and noodles was barely warm. My husband carried it to the kitchen to be reheated. My entree should have been advertised as "noodles with chicken". There were 2 small bite-sized pieces of chicken among the broth and noodles. There is definitely a need for training here, from the management level down to the servers. Never again will I go to Bob Evans, leaving here totally turned off. The one redeeming quality were the hot biscuits with butter and honey. read more

Found a piece of paper in my sausage. Told the waitress who apologized saying she's heard many thanks, but never that. Some man approached our table, with introducing himself, we assumed he was a busboy or cook by his manner of dress and hair net of a different color than his hair. He talked a lot but wasn't clear. Never just apologized, rather made some long story about berating the cooks and making them feel bad. When the waitress came back after he left, she said he took off the coffee. They were unable to removed the sausage from the bill. ??? I guess their computer screens are as ancient as their customer service. And to add insult to injury, the cashier refused to honor my 20% discount coupon that I was given because I had already received a discount, i.e., the coffee? I had to make a stink and then they honored it. Have been a customer for over 30 years but I must say the place has gone downhill. I would rather frequent Cracker Barrel. Won't be back. read more

TERRIBLE service. Melissa (our server) messed up our order, and she was extremely slow. Then, as we were leaving, she told us NOT to come back! The manager was super - nice that's why I'm giving it one star. P.S. Our bill came to almost $100.00 - and this was the way we were treated! read more
