I went to this location this afternoon, and the quality of the food was horrific. Got biscuits and gravy with a side of home fries . You could clearly tell the home fries had been laying on the grill. They were old. The biscuit was old and the gravy was not hot. Said something to the waitress, She said "I can heat it up", but I already had the gravy on everything. Then I told the manager as I was checking out and he said "we would've heated it up". Here's an idea for the people who work in this place make the food right to start with. where do I even start, the food took 50 mins to come out for 5 people, my eggs were under cooked ,and my family's orders were messed up, my brother ordered mac & cheese and they brought out fries, they gave me dry pancakes and took 5 mins to go get my syrup, while all of this was going on the cook was at one of the tables flirting with some blonde lady, while so many people were sitting there waiting on food. We were told it would be a 15 minute wait to be seated. We waited 45 minutes and walked out. There were not enough seats in the lobby area so stood the whole time. (The lobby was filled with guests and no one was seated in restaurant area the 45 minutes we were there.). Waitress refused to seat anyone in dining area even though customers were leaving after paying their food bills. We came here two days in a row and had the same experience. Too bad Wilmington doesn't have more breakfast places. Manager never assisted with trying to at least seat us and provide us a drink. I do not plan on returning to this Bob Evans. I would like their employees to stand in lobby for 45 minutes and see how it feels. read more

We just returned from this place. They are grossly understaffed. We waited for a while before we got seated, then another 15 minutes before our waitress showed up. An hour and a half later we finally got our food. The hash browns were barely cooked, so we sent the entire meal back and left. We heard a crash and we figured it was our order that hit the floor. If you don't have staffing you should either close down sections that would not receive good service or you should close the place all together and use staff on hand for cleaning and restocking. I visited this restaurant after church on a Sunday right after restaurants opened after the coronavirus quarantine. This was actually my first time dining into a restaurant since the quarantine was lifted. We were looking for a place to have lunch on a Sunday afternoon around 1230. We did not have a lot of options for a sit down restaurant nearby, so we decided to check out this Bob Evans. We were greeted once we stepped inside by a lady with a mask. We were told that we would be waited upon shortly. The lobby was pretty small, so it was very difficult to stay 6 feet away from one another. The lobby coincided with the cashier, so space was a bit limited. There were two areas for a small bench for couples to sit down and wait. We weren't worried, but we did not want to invade anyone else's space. We only had to wait about 15 minutes or so before we were seated. We noticed that some tables were sectioned off. It looks like every other table was in use, as there was a sign on tables telling guests that this table was not in use do to keeping parties apart. They did offer us paper menus. We were given silverware wrapped in a disposable napkin. We had to ask for containers of butter, but it was not a hassle. I can't remember if they had salt and pepper on the table itself, but whatever we needed, we were able to get access to. Honestly, the food was just okay. It was nothing amazing, but it was alright. I had asked for no tomatoes on my salad, but my salad arrived with tomatoes. I just picked them off. I did appreciate two containers of ranch dressing for my salad, so I did not have to flag down the waiter for an additional dressing. My friend ordered French toast without powdered sugar, and unfortunately, it came with powdered sugar. We do not mind taking care of these discrepancies ourselves, so we did not say anything. We ended up staying at the restaurant for quite some time to talk. It was not very crowded at all, so we did not feel badly in taking a table from others. We did leave an additional tip, as we felt we owed rent on that table. For the most part, the staff was very friendly! read more

Our first visit in 2 years was great! It was Sunday about noon and we had to wait at least 15 minutes, though we were told it would probably be about 5 minutes. Incredibly disappointed with the service here. Our four person group was looking for a quick bite to eat after a long work day, and the hostesses were rude and condescending when taking down our name to be seated. They quoted a 10-15 minute wait -- which was no problem for us. Thirty five minutes and multiple open booths later, we were told that the kitchen was short staffed and that if we were seated it would take another thirty minutes to have food come out. Our problem was not with the staff issues at the restaurant, but that we weren't made aware of it prior to putting our name down. When we got up to leave, the hostess was catty and rude. Great place with great food. The staff is super friendly, and normally on top of things. They will be busy on Sunday morning and Weds nights after church just an fyi. It is a little smaller, but they will try to accommodate larger parties as well, and normally do a pretty good job of it. The food is normally always fresh and good, and hot, and the flavored teas and banananut bread is to die for! I recommend using ranch with the rolls instead of butter. It's awesome. Since the remodel of this Bob Evan's it has been even better. The service seems to have gotten so much better and the food is great. When you walk in you are greeted by the host or hostess. They always have a smile and eager to serve you. The newest menu item the Broasted Chicken is out of this world. It was excellent addition to the already wonderful menu they offer. If you are looking for great comfort food then this is the place to eat. And the pumpkin bread and pumpkin pie are excellent way to end your meal. So if you are looking for a meal that is home cooking then give them a try it is as close to home cooking you can get. read more

Last week with all the warm weather we were in the mood for a nice cool salad. The Homestead salad was removed from the current menu, and it was my go to and my absolute favorite. When I asked about this, the server was very accomodating and said if the kitchen didn't want to fix what I wanted, she would fix it herself. The place was almost empty, was seated by someone who works in the kitchen and then our waitress said no one even told her we had been seated. She was sweet, but we could hear conversations going on in the kitchen area, which were loud and loaded with profanity. So thanks for the salad, but experience could have been better. read more

Ate there on a Sun Evening about 6 PM. The service was S L O W, (they weren't busy), when I did get my food it was C O L D! Went to check out had to wait for someone to come check me out no one at the register (in kitchen visiting). The only time I saw my server was when she took my order, brought my food, then when she brought my check. 2nd consecutive time in 7 months, last time we had Bob Evans in Wilmington, did they screw up an order. Ordered through doordash, who were great btw, and left out an 11 dollar bowl of soup in our bag. Called to rectify issue and was told they'd get ahold of doordash to refund that part of the order and let me know when it was handled. Well here an hour later and no feedback, awesome. Well if you could get food that is hot it would be a good place to eat. Came back yesterday in hopes that things have changed from a year ago but seems to have got worst. I always order the turkey meal and ask please make sure it is hot.. Well guess that is asking to much. Took almost 1 hour to get the food and was not even that busy. Food arrive finally and was, you guess it, all cold except for the turkey.. Mash potatoes would not even melt the butter. Dressing was so cold the extra gravel i ordered would not even heat it up.. I have eaten breakfast here since you opened the door 20 years ago. I come here everyday. I heard rumors of changing my favorite waitress Sheila West. I also got drift my favorite assistant manager Cheryl would move to other shifts. If these two women are not there when I show up at 7:00 AM, then I will find a favorite waitress at Frishes, which is cheaper. I spend $10 every morning. Plus your computer scheduling is stupid. Research has shown changing shifts makes workers less efficient. By the way the bald headed manager , Mike never roams to see if customers are happy. He stays in the office.
