I bought 2 loaves of banana bread as carry out. I sent one with my daughter to her workplace and a co-worker found A HAIR in it. I contacted corporate and told them what happened and that both loaves were thrown in the garbage. This is their response dated Jan 15, 2026: Thank you for reaching out to Bob Evans Restaurants about your recent carryout experience. We sincerely apologize that we did not meet our standard of excellence and would like to connect with you to make this right. We are sharing your experience with the Director of Operations for the restaurant and you can expect a call or email from them. As of today, March 20, no one has "connected" with me. I have not received any phone call or email from anyone, even though I have sent three additional emails and basically said "I'm still waiting." I've been to a few Bob Evans over the years, some better than others but overall not impressive. The last one was about a year ago in another city and wasn't an enjoyable experience. This one was convenient and we just wanted a quick salad and sandwich. First of all, very clean location and staff is very friendly and welcoming. Salad and sandwiches were very tasty. My husband and I stopped for a quick meal. We both ordered the fried chicken strips. They have changed them drastically. It looked like chicken but tasted like fat. The most odd texture I've ever seen. We didn't eat it. Complained to our waitress,complained to the person at checkout. It was not taken off our bill. That person even told us everyone is complaining about it. They didn't understand why they had changed it. Everything else seemed to be ok but that absolutely was the worst! This was my first time at a Bob Evan's and while I don't usually review chain restaurants--since there's often a certain consistency and standard that doesn't always warrant detailed feedback--this experience was worth noting. Despite the mixed reviews I read beforehand, my experience was fantastic--the service and food were outstanding. Our waiter, Tom, was exceptionally friendly, welcoming, and attentive. We ordered from the breakfast page of the menu and both of our meals were indulgent and rich...which was exactly what we were craving lol. The Farmers Breakfast Platter came with juicy sausage patties, crispy hickory smoked bacon, and well-seasoned eggs. The hotcakes were incredibly moist and buttery--pure comfort food. My girlfriend had the Breakfast Burger, which came on a crispy, buttery roll with a juicy patty, thick slice of American cheese, sausage, and a side of glossy maple syrup. The restaurant itself had a cozy ambience, complete with Christmas music playing softly in the background. The best part was the entire meal, (including tip) came to around $30!! And yes, I know chains like Bob Evan's aren't exactly known for being the healthiest or most gourmet; yet still, this Bob Evan's delivered excellent service and hearty, delicious food at a great price. Hi, -10's My Husband, Myself and My Son, had Thanksgiving Dinner there on 11-28-2024. We were very disappointed in the quantity and quality of our meal. We each got Ham and only 2 slices of turkey on dry dressing, 1/2 a tablespoon of mashed potatoes, 1/2 teaspoon of gravy, 1 tablespoon of green beans and a small bowl of corn. We should have gotten the same amount of vegetables and mashed potatoes, as we got in the corn. Everything and I mean everything was cold. Not luke wam, warm or hot, but cold. We even gave our waitress a $20.00 tip as soon as we got our food. This has happened many times, whether it was a Holiday or not. You've raised your prices to a five star resort status, but the quantity and quality of your food is below one star status!!!??????? I have complained several times. according to the health department the food temperature should be hot. why can't they get this issue sol????? So I'm on a road trip from the west coast and I'd never seen or heard of a Bob Evans until I made it nearly all the way across America and I'd have to say. Man We're missing out on these over on the west coast. I started really looking forward to their signs along the road and making it a point to stop and eat a decent breakfast at one of these. Now some are better than others but in my experience of visiting more than a handful of Bob Evans locations they all come in squarely and comfortably over the bar. My sister loved her pot roast dinner, including the vegetables which were a little soft which she likes. My chicken pot pie was a good meal size but lacking in much flavor or color. Adding a side of green beans helped. It was hot, but bland overall. The restaurant interior is dated and while outwardly kept up, a deep cleaning is definitely needed. The walls around the plentiful seating shows deep dust in all areas and the glass partitions have hand prints in many areas that show lack of cleaning attention to detail. We always go to the Bob Evans in South Charleston after church on Sundays but my complaint is not about the food and service! It was great! My complaint is a family of 4, was sitting at a table in the middle of the restaurant. They had two teenage sons. One was sleeping at the table while the other had his pants down where you could see the crack of his butt. My wife could not eat her meal with that view of the boy's butt staring at her 10 feet away. I was going to walk up to the table but my wife was afraid of a confrontation, so as we left we told the manager about and he agreed with us that it was unacceptable and it should be addressed. I am not sure if he did anything but if it happens again, we will take our business elsewhere. read more

Bob Evans has always been a favorite for me and my family, yesterday my daughter and I went out for lunch and shopping, we stopped at the south Charleston wv location. We were greeted immediately by a friendly host and seated right away. Our server was wonderful and got everything correct. I am lactose intolerant and he was familiar with what was dairy free on the menu. We each had a salad and half sandwich, I felt like we had a feast for $18!!! This will always be our favorite place!! We've always received a good meal here, be it breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Sometimes the service can be a bit slow, but their friendliness and food easily make up for it. Parking is plentiful. Seating is spacious. We like to sit in a booth and have never felt crowded. They do run out of banana nut bread in the evenings, so be aware. Their portions are huge. We always take some home and it serves as lunch for my husband the next day. They can easily accommodate large parties. Their carry out is very convenient and fast. First, getting off the highway and trying to get into the parking lot is confusing, though not the fault of the restaurant. It's right next to a highway on ramp which made it confusing. When we walked in at 5:00 on a Saturday night, there was no wait and very few people in the restaurant. Several servers were gathered in the serving area chatting and it took a few minutes for the host to slowly meander his way over to us. We told him we had two adults and needed a big chair for our little one. He seated us at a booth then went to get a high chair, but brought back a booster seat. Our little one is too small for a booster and when we pointed out the three high chairs in plain view he said we could not sit at a booth with it. He gave no reason other than the manager doesn't like that. I would have much preferred a booth but went along with a table since I was tired from a long day of driving. We watched him do the same with another family as well. The food was ok. I had the potato crusted flounder (which I've had at other locations) and it wasn't very "crusted." The broccoli was dried and flavorless. The carrots were fine. Our server was average, not very attentive but not terrible either. When you spend $70 on a call in order several days ahead of time and are told to pick it up at 11 AM on Thanksgiving, and you are still waiting in line at 1 PM, that is piss poor management. I have one of my buddies waiting in line to pick up the food. I was diagnosed with Covid on Monday. My mom was diagnosed yesterday. So my buddy volunteered to go pick up her food for her and my brother. If mom was not sick and had to stand in line for 2+ hours, it would've been a bad day today Bob Evans management when I came to visit them. The management needs eliminated from the payroll.
