The waitress we had Cynthia, was an absolute delight she made sure that me and my boyfriend were well taken care of, she gave us recommendations to food items (since neither of us have ever been to a bob Evan's before) and constantly made sure that we were doing well and listened to me explain a medical issue I had a year ago, she had also explained told me about her recovery(keep up the great job). She also made sure to wait on my boyfriend's dessert so it wouldn't melt and so I wouldn't have to wait while watching him eat his. She made the whole experience peaceful and so much more enjoyable. Towards the end of it all, she gave this cute little Jesus figure that I will now carry around with me as symbol to make faith and show everything will get better. Absolutely love her! Came for Easter lunch as we are in Michigan for the weekend. The food was good and quick, though the cappuccino was incredibly too sweet and I honestly should have sent it back. Our server was friendly and helpful, but the girl at the register was rude and my husband wishes he had complained. When we arrived she didn't appear to want to help him, then as she walked out to smoke her e-cig, she let the door shut on him instead of holding it open. Haven't been a fan of this place for awhile but wanted oatmeal for breakfast and Panera stopped serving it . This review is strictly graded on the service... horrible. We were seated and a server, Kathy, came over to take our drink order. We got our coffee and ordered breakfast. I got the oatmeal and hubby got the sunrise burger. Oatmeal was good and the burger was also adequate. After he was half way done Kathy finally came over and asked if he wanted mayo or anything for his burger. Would have been nice to be asked when we actually got the meal. We had to ask several times for coffee refills I got regular filled quicker than hubby got decaf. Once I even asked Kathy, as she was whizzing by our table, for a refill and she said "as soon as one of us gets a chance". And with that I had to ask again. Food is mediocre at best. It's incredibly greasy. We've been twice and the entire family has had the runs all night both times. Yeah, I know. After the first time we should have stayed away. I was taking a client up north and he wanted to stop here as he really enjoys Bob Evans, he comes here frequently and I've never been. As we drive up to the entrance this place is quite packed, the wait was about 25 minutes and a largely packed waiting room (some people wearing masks, others not). Once seated our waitress was wearing the cheapest face covering that had an opening at the bottom, I could see her mouth through the face covering and I could see it under her face mask, I do not know how she gets away with this and how she feels comfortable using that to protect herself and others (based on that alone I will never come back here personally). My client ordered biscuits and gravy, a black coffee, as well as pancakes and sausage. He ate almost everything off both his plates - like I said he's a fan. I ordered the chicken noodle deep dish dinner, which was basically chicken noodle soup over mashed potatoes and a biscuit - served very sloppily and the chicken was a little overcooked but it tasted okay. I only had a few bites because the waitress having her mask completely exposed freaked me out if she had sweat or something drop into my food. I might order that entree again at a different bob Evans or somewhere masks are taken more seriously at. Every few tables were blocked off for social distancing but we were still pretty close in proximity to others. Up north Michigan people take masks a lot less seriously and a lot of people didn't wear them. read more

Standard diner with hearty fare; just what I've been craving! It was 7am and I was starving! Luckily we were seated immediately and our server, Rebecca, came by quickly to take our drink orders and after she brought those she took our breakfast order. I got the Rise and Shine with sunny-side up eggs, bacon, hash browns, and biscuits. The food came out quickly and everything was cooked perfectly; especially the bacon which was just the right mix of crispy and chewy for me. I got the hash browns "loaded" which means it comes with cheese, sour cream, scallions, and crumbled bacon. No regrets! It's a shredded, fried, and loaded baked potato; delicious and even moreso with the salsa that Rebecca offered to bring. She checked up on us a couple of times and refilled my coffee and even offered to get me a cup to go when we asked for the check. Diners are not gourmet restaurants. I got everything cooked the way that I wanted, the price was very reasonable, and the service was efficient and friendly. What's not to like? read more

Food-wise, this is a typical Bob Evans - lots of average, artery clogging food at fairly reasonable prices. They had a $9.99 three course dinner and I got a salad, blueberry bread, chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes and gravy, and cookie. For an extra 99 cents, I splurged and got green beans. Funny enough, the green beans were not only from a can but came cooked with onions and ham. Veggies that a vegeterian would have to reject. The service here was OK - the young manager came by to check in at one point - but not particularly friendly. Where's the joie de vivre? Where's the warm smile? They put them back on and we ate there this morning. Got our food super fast and it was delicious! Especially enjoyed the rye toast ! Thank you for listening Bob Evans. You're back on my list of favorite restaurants! -16- Rye Toast is back at Bob Evans! Had a great breakfast today. Service was outstanding and low and behold, they had rye toast on the menu! Yahoo! I think they should re-name Bob Evans to Bob Evans-Bring Your Own Bread-restaurant. First, they stop offering rye toast which is probably the most commonly ordered breakfast bread. Now they no longer offer English muffins. So your choices are white wheat and sourdough bread. I don't know about most people but I have never ordered sourdough bread in my life and according to the waitresses, rye bread is the most popular bread choice for breakfast. You may think I'm being silly for writing about this but I would just like to understand why one of the most popular breakfast chains is no longer offering such a popular breakfast item. Dining at Bob Evans for the first time as an adult is like realizing the aunt and uncle you always thought were lame growing up are actually cool as h*ck and make really good breakfast. The only reason we were here was to satisfy an evening pancake craving. The only reason we knew this Bob Evans existed is because we've driven by it countless times on our way to feed the geese at the mall wetlands. The atmosphere Bob has created is pure comfort. If I lived in a restaurant I would feel right at home here. The food was honestly so good. Buttermilk pancakes: perfect. Cinnamon pancakes: see "buttermilk pancakes" then imagine that with cinnamon. Sausage and salsa biscuit bowl: everything you could ask for in a savory breakfast dish. The service was excellent. We asked for ham in the biscuit bowl, which was accommodated no problem. On the check, we saw that this was entered in as "HAMMMMMMMMMM". Plus one star for humor. In conclusion, Bob Evans is a restaurant chain with sparkly gems and charms dangling from it. What's happening to Bob Evans? This was once a great place to go with a guaranteed pleasant place to eat with great tasting food. I know they changed management companies, down hill it has gone. First of all they switched from Coke to Pepsi. Second, they removed the comment cards and box, can't let them know when wait staff is outstanding or when there is a problem. What's up with "running out of pancakes "?, yes, that's what we were told!!! Also, the menus are so over used they look like they belong in the dumpster. I just wanted to say I ordered our dinner online last night June 11, 2021 and went to pick it up. The young man brought it out and shame of me for not checking. It was getting very stormy and I drove away. When I got home and checked the bag we only had one of our meals. I called and talk to the manager and was told he would deliver it out himself. It arrived in about 15 minutes and he was drenched from the rain. He also gave us a free loaf of there banana bread. He went above and beyond. When the food finally got here, my over easy eggs were hard, hash browns didn't come loaded even though I paid an up charge, and almost everything was very overcooked. Let me start with this - nothing is wrong with the food. If you want Bob Evans, like all other Bob Evans, then this is your place, simply because they ALL are your place. Same food. Same walls. Same cashier. However, for me, the place feels like it's a slow, walking march toward depression. The last few times I've gone here the food has gotten worse. They always forget to bring out our soup until we've gone halfway through our meal, and if my meal has fries they always seem to be cold or undercooked. The "steak" is clearly a meat glued conglomerate that is NOT a sirloin and appears to be universally used as roast as well. Not only was I shocked at the fact that my steak fell apart and was raw on the outer rim and over cooked in the center, but the nerve of the staff to look at me like I was crazy questioning why my "steak" was able to be "cut" with my index finger and mushed up like it has been pulverized in a blender just by merely touching it. Its Bob Evans what can I say? A whole lot that is what I can say. First, the only time we go there is for breakfast, because being a vegetarian that is about the only thing can eat, other then the salad but sometimes you have to wonder about there salads. Anyways, the breakfast is not bad, there are some good omlets and breads for people like me that do not eat meat. The one thing is, the grits are nasty, very watery and they have no flavor what so ever. The pancakes are not bad, and some of the other things are ok as well. The wait staff is iffy, sometimes you get someone good who comes by and makes sure that everything is ok, other times you get the really slow, really unatentive older wait staff who would rather wait on the older people then us younger ones who are just as valued as the others. Also my brother was with us one time and ordered a side of bacon, three very small pices does not warent a side order that is pathetic. This Bob Evan's just got a renovation that added on a bakery to its already full menu. There is something for everyone and the kid's menu's are a great meal for large family's. Tuesday night my family goes and the kids eat free with a desert included. I really like the service and they got new uniforms that update the outdated look. We frequent this location regularly for breakfast. Both service and food quality have diminished over the 10 years we've been going here. The portions have gotten smaller and there has been a lot of turnover in staff. There is one particular employee who insists on "high-fiving" you when you pay your bill, which is utterly annoying. I feel that the meals are over-priced for what you get; we've gotten much better value at the Boulevard (if you don't mind the bar-type ambiance!) Midland could really use a nice place for breakfast; the Texan, Big Boy, Shirlene's, and Li'l Chef all leave much to be desired. read more
