Wonderful place, the portion sizes on the food are PERFECT. Our waitress was very sweet (an older lady with purple hair) and the service was quick. The ambiance reminded me exactly of a southern farm home and I loved it. My dad got the potatoes w/ beef and onion rings (pictured) and the presentation was wonderful. We will be back! read more

This Jaskson location is the best we have found in the area. Ypsilanti, and Adrian are dirty and always poor service. Here, the service was excellent and the restaurant was clean. I do wish the food quality wasn't going down hill, so that we might want to visit a little more often. It's just not what it used to be. Especially the oh so coveted sausage gravy. It seems like the recipe has changed on the last couple visits. Just that something is off with it. I took a healthier turn for my main meal on this visit and ordered the chicken salad. It was a mount of chicken salad surrounded by perfectly fresh and ripe fruit. Fruit was great... but the chicken salad.... No way. Why did Bob Evans ever think to put VINEGAR in chicken salad? It was horrible. I asked the manager to check "the box that the chicken salad comes in" and sure enough; vinegar is an ingredient. It was overpowering. I ate the fruit. Still a good breakfast place and major points for cleanliness and friendliness. read more

Our server was terrible! Had to track her down for refills then after waiting 40 minutes for food ( not her fault of course) it was wrong but she never returned to check on us ‍ ... Four adults went to Bob Evans in Jackson,MI for Thanksgiving dinner. We arrived at around 2:10 PM. The lobby was full clear to the front door. There were two lines. One for meal pickup and one for in house diners. We were seated within 15 minutes which very much surprised all in our party of four. A waitress came within 4 minutes and took our drink order. The next waitress came within maybe seven minutes and took our food order. Now this whole time they were still seating people and taking orders. We had our food within 20 minutes. It was an excellent meal and a very good price. Our waitress (wish we would have gotten her name) was very very pleasant even though she was constantly moving and being asked for items. We had two takeout orders and she filled them exactly as asked. I just wish I knew her name as she is an excellent employee. She was so pleasant. I would have been going crazy. I've only been to Bob Evans a few times in my life, but we decided to stop here on the way to the airport for breakfast so I wasn't starving on the plane back to Florida. This location is clean, organized, friendly, and quick service no complaints there. I am a lover of breakfast skillets, but I feel like I can never find one anywhere..so I resorted to ordering blueberry pancakes which honestly, were super good and just what I needed to hold me over but it's not something I would continue to come back for over and over. I feel like the menu for breakfast could definitely have more options as it feels weak for a breakfast restaurant, but maybe they do more food service for lunch and dinner so focus on those areas more but I've always known it to be a breakfast place. It's okay but not my favorite or first choice to go for breakfast. read more

Ordered breaded chicken with mashed potatoes/gravy and green beans to be delivered. Delivery arrives with no mashed potatoes. Called manager and was told they need to more careful with the orders. This location has greatly improved over the last year & half or so and is much cleaner. The wait staff is friendly and prompt to greet you when you walk in. The food choices are plentiful and portions are decent. They recently got rid of the broccoli cheese soup though so that's a bummer! Piggy pancakes are cute for the kids. The biscuits with honey are tasty. The chocolate chunk cookie is awesome! Get one you won't regret it! read more

This location is poorly mismanaged. Expect to wait an additional 20+ minutes on top of the 37 minutes they will tell you when picking up a take out order. The register/pick up area is a chaotic nightmare and you are lucky if anyone even acknowledges you. Lastly do not expect to get exactly what you ordered. For example, you will get the gravy but forget the biscuits. We live in the Napoleon/Brooklyn area and there aren't many choices close. We've tried this Bob Evans multiple times in the last ten years, hoping for improvement but this location has never delivered. This is unfortunate and highly disappointing as we have had excellent service at other Bob Evans. Nice restaurant - serves all 3 meals, which is pretty neat and means a larger menu. I got the salmon with the broccoli and carrots. While the carrots were too mushy for my liking, the broccoli was good, even though it was mostly good because it was buttered. The salmon was good too - not the most flavorful thing, but it wasn't bad and I would get it again next time I go there. The salmon also comes with bottomless bread so that's a nice plus. Overall not a bad place to go. Looks like an IHOP inside but they serve dinner on top of breakfast and lunch too. Will have to try the breakfast next time I read more

I miss Bob Evan's. It's a Midwest institution. I think the food is decent and consistent. If you want comfort food, this is the place to go. I think the breakfast is good, but small and skimpy and expensive. I'd rather go to a diner or greasy spoon, but when you're in Jackson, this is about the best you can get. I also really like the salads. Today the food was good and service was ok. My diet soda was never refilled and that was disappointing. I'll chalk it up to a server falling in the kitchen by stepping on a menu. It was pretty scary. I hope she's ok. read more

I can't believe just how much this restaurant has gone downhill. We went during the week, during a slow time. It took 15 minutes to get seated, even though they were not busy. People that came after us just left and went elsewhere. The hostess??? was incredibly rude when we asked (after 10 minutes) if we were suppose to just seat ourselves) the waitresses all seemed very unhappy to be there. On Sunday Aug,6th 2023 A group of 15 of us went to Bob Evans to eat. A member of our group had called ahead to reserve a table and when we got there. they said they had no reservation but they did seat us fairly quickly. The problem was we waited at least 45 minutes for food when I asked the waitress did they wait till everyone's food was done before they started to bring it out because we had watched at least 4 tables come eat and leave who had come in after our party. The waitress said she would go back and check on it. she returned and said she had put the tickets in 3 sections. We waited a few more minutes then we talked to the lady manager and told her one of our party had to leave soon because she had to go to work could she check on our food. Finally food started coming to our table the problem was half of our party got parts of there order for example i ordered 1 slice of toast with my breakfast and i asked for it 2 more times after i got my eggs and bacon and 25 minutes later i still had not got it. I like to eat my toast with my meal . plus a few others got pancakes but didnt get the main part of there meal. My son ordered his sandwich minus onions but it came with onions. MY niece told the FLOOR manager TWO TIMES HER ORDER and was still waiting at least another 10 minutes then she asked to speak to the general manager . A slim brown hair man from the kitchen came out and he sat down beside her and started talking saying that he had 2 cooks out due to illiness plus one of the cooks in the back cooking right now had fluid in his lungs and the other cook had lung cancer . I heard the lady he was talking to tell him to just stop she didnt want to hear about them as her own husband had just been diagnosed with 3rd stage lung cancer and she didnt want to discuss that with him she just wanted him to deal with getting the problem handled with the table getting there order and the one lady still didnt have any of her order at all and she was gonna have to leave as she had to go to work. . He started to walk away when one of the other customers at the other end of the table asked him if everything was ok now and he turned around started back to our table when a red headed guy with a beard stood up and yelled just shut up . I told the guy the problem was we had been there about 2 hours and we still didn't have our food and that guy said he didn't care, for us to just shut up. A member of our party told him to mind his own business this didn't concern him then the so called male manager told that guy to shut his mouth and sit down then that guys wife stood up and started yelling and in the mean time the manager that was coming back to our table was told by our party just to keep going as we needed our food. he couldn't do that instead he started arguing with the guy at our table this caused the lady to get up because she didn't want any issues all she wanted was her food. THE so called manager started yelling at our whole table where there was a grandmother of 84 years old. I believe the red headed guy is employed at Bob evan's also even though he wasn't working when this happened or at least the so called male manager knew him if he didnt work there. The waitress seemed to be fairly new and the girl was trying to get our table drinks plus wait on everyone when the woman manger stood up at the bar just watching not helping at all. I hope you have video in your restaurant so you can see how unprofessional the so called managers are. Plus who want to hear one of the cooks has fluid in there lungs and is back there cooking our food and coughing all over it .The so called male manager plus the restaurants employees all was standing with the manager listening instead of working and then the male manager just started yelling for all of us to get out, I saw people video taping with there phone also plus we offered to pay for the food we did get even though only a couple people got there whole order which was cold when it got to them the so called manager said just get out screaming at us. Then he said i'm gonna get your license plate and he was asked why ? we offered to pay for our food he just kept pointing and yelling get out upsetting the whole restaurant. She chose to order us the $11.99 herb roasted ck dinners.... 2 of them Just letting everyone out there know to double check your orders.... we have gone here several times and each time was another one for the books. you would expect to have warm food, this was not the case. the wait staff were decent but the food was horrible. we went 2 times for breakfast and something was wrong both times. the third time we decided to try out a dinner there and low and behold it took 40 minutes to get our food. then when we got the food it was dam near in edible!! unreal. they say they are short handed but come on now. three times now it's unheard of. read more

I ordered 3 orders of pancakes and had them delivered to the hotel we are staying at when I gave the kids there's they asked where is the syrup? After looking through all the bags again I found none so I call the restaurant and the manager told me she would give me 2 dollars off my next order. I told her what am I supposed to do with 3 orders of pancakes and no syrup she said she had no way to bring them I could come get them!! What I had it delivered so I didn't have to take the kids out. This location is clean. Food is always good. Some of their menu options are pricey but not bad. Just watch for the upselling. Example is every-time I come in for breakfast they try selling me soup to go. I mean I know the waitress probably has to say it but come on, I don't want soup to go at 8AM. Also stay away from the juice if you want to keep your breakfast around $10. I think the juice is around $3 per glass and coffee is over $2. Overall good spot for a decent breakfast. Management has been visible each time that I've been so service wise they're almost always on point. read more

I arrived between Breakfast and Lunch. Many cigarette butts on entrance ground despite ashtray. !?? The staff was thin and I had to wait a little longer than I wanted.(20 secs vs 3 ) Also had to look at one of those signs I HATE....PLEASE WAIT TO BE SEATED !!! I would like to have a Great/Seat within 3 seconds or less and door opened during Busiest times ! (Standard I kept at a restaurant years ago). But when I was just about to give up, a team member (server) greated me and sat me. I would have loved to hear "Welcome to BOB EVANS",etc. But the server did acknowledge me (a great part of the teamwork they displayed during my visit.) Then the server of course sat me in her section which Should Be a reward for her teamwork. Offered me a Coffee or Pepsi. Nice variety and overview, but the "sparkle words were not there, like "ICE COLD Pepsi, etc. My waitress had a nametag, but did not introduce herself by name, to encourage me to come back and ask for her by name. (salespeople do that). Her name was on the check, but people remember things by 3s !! Intro by name, Name tag and Name on check.. for return requests to build sales and $$$ for her !!! During my visit the cashiers saw a SPIDER ! Instead of being quiet about it they announced it to the whole donning room ! No manager coached them to "say nothing out loud"! As my trash (empty creamers) became evident....no PRE-BUSSING happened !? A passing server did perform great teamwork by filling my coffee and a bus-person did acknowledge me and say hello. Overall the service was a B- and the Food quality was an B+. SOOO, my visit was a B. Good but NOT Legendary. I wouldnt tell anyone about this restaurant. But then I wouldnt badmouth them either !!! Both restaurants in Jackson are horrible. First of all when it is 90 some degrees outside turn the air on. No matter what time of day when I eat here my food is either not made the way I ask or there even has been times there was a little extra in it i didn't ask for. I once ordered banana pancakes and was eating it enjoying it and found a half a sausage in my pancake. The most recent time i ate there i was eating my french toast and happened to look down and there was strawberry sauce under the toast like it was slid across the dirty counter and then sent out to be served. Alright so the only reason they're even getting TWO stars instead of ONE is because of the manager. So my family and I came in on a Sunday morning around 12:30. Of course we expected a little bit of a wait because I am a server so I know sunday's around that time are busy. It's pretty common knowledge. But the host was just so terrible. I don't know if she was new or what but she sat a huge party before us that arrived AFTER us. They might have had a reservation i'm not sure.. but then she just kept seating 2 tops, 4 tops, even 6 or 7 tops in front of us instead of saving those tables to push together for us to sit at!! We waited for almost an HOUR to sit and one of the people that was with us even had to leave before we got sat because they took so long. So our experience was ruined even before we sat down. I heard the manager say, "I told you guys to keep those seats open so they could sit" and motioned toward us. So it's just the hosts' lack of training I guess. I'm not sure. He did offer us drinks and apologize though so I could see he was trying. ONLY reason they're getting another star. Once we sat down, we ordered right away. Our server (I wish I could remember her name) was just so bad. She was slow and rude asfff. I asked for lemons because she forgot them the first time I asked and then took 15 minutes to check back in with us and got a sigh and a "sure." And we were her only table!! She had a stank ass face the whole time and all her replies were short. I didn't even want to give her 15% but I did cuz I as a server obviously know that's the only way we make a living. Once again this location was nothing more than utter chaos. Together my wife and I arrived at 545 pm figuring it was a good time to avoid the big dinner rush. We were greeted by a less than cordial host. Not even a glimmer of a smile was revealed. Then our server greeted us with news that they were short staffed and also there was a large table already in the restaurant. Personally as a consumer this information is not relevant to me. I ordered the new roasted chicken and my wife attempted to order the chicken strips. This soon changed as my wife was informed they were out of the buffalo sauce as listed on the menu. I'm pretty confident the Meijer directly behind the store carries a variety of buffalo sauce. Perhaps the Bob Evans on West Avenue was up to speed on their truck order and could transfer a case to this location. Now 45 minutes later the server came to the table to inform me that they were out of the roasted chicken. Are you kidding me, you are out of a new item before the dinner rush and then you take 45 minutes to relay this news. As I left the store I informed the manager that this visit was bad. He apologized for being out of the roasted chicken in a manner that displayed "Oh Well". At least that was my interpretation. I also voiced my dissatisfaction over the store not having Buffalo sauce in which he replied "We don't offer Buffalo sauce". My wife had to show him on the menu where this was offered as he did not believe us. After a wasted 45 minutes in this store I do not envision a return visit in the near future. This display was a complete embarrassment for your organization from a managerial, customer service, inventory control and training standpoint. read more

Poor staffing and managing. My family and I go there from time to time because it's close but we cross our fingers every time hoping the waitress is good and all of our food comes out correctly, which is extremely rare.
