Went to Bob Evans last night, waited to be seated about two minutes because the hostess was talking to employee. Got seated then waiter said she would be right with us, sit there around 10 to 15 minutes and still had not been asked about drinks much less got to order. We walked out! This is not the first time we have had problems there... They really need a manager there who cares. Every time we say something they tell us that they are short handed. read more

Decent service nice ambience, good food. When I had a small complaint, they were willing to fix my problem.

Everything about it has really gone downhill. Hostess appeared bothered to seat us. Waited 30 minutes for the food to arrive. No drink refills were offered. Had to continue asking for items (jelly, pancake syrup, napkins) that were not offered. The potatoes were burned badly. Toast cold. Hotcakes cold and rubbery. Service left alot to be desired. The restaurant was dirty. Seated at table that was visibly soiled. The restrooms were horrible. There was a greasy stale odor in the place. Next time will seek other options or drive to another location. read more

We stopped here on our way west for a late supper. We arrived at 8:50, and they close at 9 PM. We were graciously seated and given menus. ' Our waitress was very good. So was the food. I had chicken, mashed potatoes and broccoli and banana bread. All of it was very tasty. I am always hesitant to order broccoli in a restaurant because it seems like it sits and gets mushy, but this broccoli was just right. I'm giving it 4 stars because I think the carpet needs cleaned or replaced. Maybe it was my imagination but I thought the carpet had a musty smell. The entire restaurant needs an upgrade but it was fairly clean. "Old" just looks "dirty." Also, I would rather be served by someone whose appearance is clean and non-gothic. I have no complaints about our service - but it's disconcerting to have to look up at someone who is so ringed up in nose and eyebrows - and covered in tattoos. It looks unprofessional. That might be "in" for some folks, but Bob Evans is a family restaurant and this appearance doesn't depict what Bob Evans stood for. I'm a senior citizen, and that's my take. read more

Meal took about 40 minutes to arrive causing us to need to rush through our food when we had a deadline to leave. They blamed it on a sticky waffle iron. Rest of my meal wasn't warm due to this. Not a busy day either. Waitress was ok but oddly enough fawned over one of our guests and how pretty she was while I was also sitting there. Guess I'm chopped liver? Had to send silverware back so I could have clean. Coffee drinkers were never offered spoons but had enough syrup for one waffle to drown the whole table (5 servings). I have eaten here with my family many times over the years. The food is consistently terrible. It ranges between completely raw and uncooked chicken to finding hairs left and right to finding large pieces of cardboard in my deserts. The food has no taste and is terribly prepared. The waiters are nice overall. While trying hard to be friendly, many also get orders wrong frequently, treat you like an idiot when you order something "wrong" (even if you're reading it exactly from the menu), and rarely visit the table. The tables, dishes, seats, and utensils are also very poorly maintained. Nearly every time I go, there are crumbs in the booths, sticky substances on the tables (and booths and chairs), and there are generally dried bits of old food on the utensils and dishes. Lacking good food, good service, and a clean facility, I can not recommend this restaurant to anyone. read more

Our party was treated rudely by the staff and the manager when, after a 25 minute wait for our food, we inquired. It was delivered without proper garnish, sandwiches uncut, no drink refills, staff shabbily attired & sarcastic. We noticed others having to ask for utensils, etc and waiting too long for our food. We generally enjoy a trip to Bob Evans - especially after being unable to go in and eat for some time due to Covid. The past two times, not so much. On our last trip, it was a weekday morning around 10. There were 6 other customers in the restaurant the entire time we were in the building. Our waitress had our table and one other. The table we were seated at was sticky, and there were crumbs on all of the chairs. That is a no-brainer - wipe it down if it was missed when the table was cleared from previous customers. The waitress was polite, and prompt with the initial drink order, but the order was wrong in multiple ways when she brought it to the table. It wasn't a complicated order - party of 2, he got an omelet, home fries, toast, and asked that they not include tomatoes and a side of sausage; she asked for the blueberry pancakes with bananas with scrambled eggs, hashbrowns, and a side of sausage. He received a completely different omelet that he had to deconstruct to get the tomatoes out, hashbrowns (not home fries), and a side of bacon (not sausage). She received buttermilk pancakes with strawberries (not blueberry pancakes with banana) and two fried eggs (not scrambled), and home fries (not hashbrowns). Her side wasn't brought to the table at all. No syrup was brought to the table. We were on a schedule, so we didn't complain about the order being wrong or ask for things to be re-made; we did ask for syrup and the side of sausage she ordered. The waitress questioned providing the syrup by stating that the pancakes were served with strawberry pureed syrup. Again, the lady asked for syrup and her side order of sausage. They were brought to the table after the lady had eaten the eggs and home fries and the pancakes were cold (about 10 minutes). When she brought the syrup, she brought the check. After she left the check, she never returned to the table. He had coffee and flagged another waitress to get the cup topped off. I can't fault the kitchen. I believe the order was not entered right. The waitress didn't bother to write anything down. I noticed this when she took the order and asked her to repeat it before leaving the table. It took her three tries to get it right, and the third was with help. I told him that our order would be wrong, and he agreed. When we were here a few nights ago, the same thing happened, different waitress. Still, not writing down the order. Two things were wrong when the food was brought to the table. That was a party of 6. Write it down! There is no shame in it. I don't understand why a server would risk getting the order to the table wrong and potentially losing a great tip just because they don't want to write down the order. To me, it is arrogant. I live with these people and know what they order and I write it down when I do a call in order! Why would you feel you could memorize 6 orders with special requests on each and be able to get it all correct? If it was as simple as 6 cheeseburgers with everything - that is different - that you could remember. But six individual dinner (or breakfast) orders with substitutions, cooking instructions, side orders, and more? We always tip our server 20-30% of the check. Sometimes more if the service is great. We were probably thrown under the bus when we left as being "poor tippers" because we left only $5 for the breakfast order. If you read this and work at Bob Evans in Bluefield, Virginia - as a server or member of the management team - please write down orders. We don't want to have to drive to Princeton to eat breakfast - but we will. And if the Princeton restaurant forgoes writing down of orders - well, we might have to find a new place entirely for brunch. What a shame! read more

When I got there there was no one really there to show us to our seats we has to ask if we were gonna seat our self then someone came out but other then that the service isn't bad but the food my scrambled eggs were harder to cut then normal and. The sausage didn't have that much flavor along with the potato cubes the potato cubes had no flavor or seasoning and some were kinda cold along with the sausage as for the drinks I think the mason jars and creative and kinda cool the fork and knife I got had stains on the had to switch them out but otherwise it was good read more

Usually never have a problem here but good grief it was ridiculous today. Did online order at 445pm that said would be ready for pick up at 530. I purposely wait until 6pm only to get there and be told it's still not ready. Restaurant not even 1/2 full so that can't be the reason. Then this young girl proceeds to tell me that she just got here and doesn't know anything about my order. Then this teen proceeds to call me "baby" and "sweetheart" and I hear her ask the cook about my order. Turns out it's not even cooked yet. This while my groceries are melting in the car. Too bad for this little girl as the other one who works always has a smile that is genuine and goes out of her way to double check everything. She always gets a 20-25% tip. Bob Evens' management must hate their servers, because when Mary, her parents and I were at Bob Evans yesterday we noticed a strong lack of servers and the hostess seated 5 groups of people, including ourselves, in a section that had a party of 10 for one waitress. When this waitress finally came by to check on us, about 10 minutes later, we realized that we have had this waitress before and for the most part we have received superb service from her in the past and this time was no different. So, hats of to her for making what could have been a really bad service experience into one that was manageable, especially when I could look over and see another waitress having a 10 minute conversation with a table that she wasn't even helping. Some good servers and some bad, unfortunately, and this place has always been a revolving door of wait staff. Anyway, the food is always consistent and the coffee is okay. I got a burger for the first time here and I was pleasantly surprised with the quality. Their breakfast is always good and I have never received a wrong order. I just wish this place could appreciate its wait staff a little more and not bombard a single server with 5 tables at once. Maybe then the staff will stop going through the revolving door. Sorry for the soap-box. But, if you don't get there before 11:30, you will wait to be seated due to a mass of after church crowd. So get there early. read more

We drive to the Princeton Bob Evans to avoid the Bluefield location. We just can't get good service and consistent food quality at this location. People are friendly enough just staff is never the same and we haven't had good luck with getting our orders correct or fast service. read more

Bob Evans is one of the few breakfast restaurants in the area. So that online makes it a popular choice among many. Everytime I've been the food has always been excellent. Service is a little slow but overall it's a good experience. read more

Wait staff always good/efficient. Food not always up to bob evans standard. On this visit there was a hair on hamburger. (Thank goodness I wanted to add ketchup. Or I wouldn't have notice till bit into) Manager took hamburger off bill. Waitress was apologetic, assured her I knew I wasn't her fault. This was the second time food was the worst part of visit. Husband order his eggs well done scrambled. The person cooking chopped the eggs into tiny pieces not cooked well done(still can't understand that one). My Family and I went to Bob Evans today at 12:00, it took forever for our food to come out (45 min.) The waitress was trying her best, while there where other waitress's talking loudly about something being NASTY. My daughter had a grilled cheese and fruit cup, The grilled cheese was so cold the cheese didn't melt and the grapes in the fruit cup where rotten.My Husband and I both had cold over done french fries , they where cooked for so long the inside was gone. Everyone's food was cold & nasty. As we where leaving they ask us did we want to speak to a manager, I said I couldn't believe a Manager was there because of the mess the restaurant was in, Leaves was all over the front , dirty tables, and we saw people leaving over the service being so slow. Food was very good. Service was a bit slow. We had to request butter & jelly for our rolls. By the time the waitress returned with them the rolls were no longer hot. I was pleased to see the American Flag flying in front of the restaurant but then noticed how tattered it was. The flag really does need to be replaced and treated with respect by being in good repair. read more
