I bought my 92 Corvette new so I've had it aligned many times over the years. I had it 4 wheel…read morealigned to OEM factory specs a year ago. It cost me flat rate of $245 and took 1 hour and 45 minutes. I was able to wait on a couch in the lobby. This year I thought I would try another shop with some very slight camber adjustments. I made an appt. w/AutoEdge 2 weeks in advance for an appt. at 7:45AM, I live 40 miles away and was told I could wait for it. I arrived on time. While the atmosphere of shop was nice there was virtually nowhere to sit and wait so they directed me to walk a half a block up the road to a Caribou to wait. After waiting at Caribou(3 hrs.), sitting on the curb outside shop(1.5hrs) and walking around the neighborhood(1.5 hrs.) until my phone battery went dead, my car was finally done after 6.5 hours!!! They told me it was going to be $375 and that they were going to be "kind" enough to stick with that instead of charging me $120/hr until the job was done!! Would have been over $700!! They stated this was because I brought in "specific" settings. The only thing I requested was -.5' camber on front/back tires, no toe or caster changes, virtually stock settings. To even consider charging a customer $120/hr for a 4 wheel alignment because your technician doesn't know what he's doing is goddamn ridiculous!! When he finally got the -.5' camber in front, he messed up the already existing caster angle. As I said, I've owned my car for 33 years and lots of alignments. For a customer to make an appt. 2 weeks in advance, wait better than 6 hours with nowhere to sit, and then threaten to charge an hourly rate because your tech don't know what he's doing is the most assanine thing I've experienced at a shop!! I will never go back there and will make sure nobody I know does either.

Absolutely amazing!…read more I was skeptical going to an auto shop connected to a gas station but I'm SOOO glad I did. WHAT HAPPENED: I blew out a run flat on an AWD vehicle in the evening not long before closing time. I called several large chains who specialize in tires closer to my flat location who all told me crazy things from "they didn't have the equipment to take my tire off and they'd have to cut it off and replace it with a regular tire" to "I could play for a regular set of tires then but a set of run flats when they ordered some" (aka pay for two sets of tires). HOW THEY HELPED: I called North Oaks Auto Service at the urging of a friend. Josh assured me they could handle my tire no problem and waited for me to arrive despite the fact he was getting ready to close. While they didn't have 4 tires that would fit my car they were able to get 4 tires in first thing the next morning and have me on my way by 10am! Amazing service and customer service. She had an issue with her car that was requiring intermittent jump starts and power loss. Obviously, as a father, the idea of her being stranded or being vulnerable in a compromising situation weighed heavy on my mind. Independently, she had asked for referrals and assured me to follow her ideas on where to take her car. She had a good feeling about this place. As I clutched my wallet not knowing how outrageous chasing an electrical gremlin in the vehicle could cost, I told her to get it in right away. After all, winter is coming. She took the car in per the scheduled time, and popped the hood. Presumably a little later they came out and informed her that her issue was quite simple and taken care of. Her battery cables were loose. She went to settle the bill and they said there was no charge. She called me, and told me what the result was, and despite our insistence to pay the shop for their time and consideration, the refused payment and wished her well. This isn't an advocation or review of how to get free work, because no one would be more deserving of some form of payment than here. For the peace of mind and increased safety for my daughter when she is beyond my range of protection or immediate rescue; this was a sigh of relief that she is at a quality establishment, in a quality neighborhood, with a reputation that deserves the highest marks.
