Bad service. Overpriced drinks. The TV was on an NFL channel - frozen. You could excuse people saying they had cleanup after the Panthers game, but c'mon - that was over hours before my arrival of 7:45 pm. Here's how it went: i arrived and there was only 1 couple at the humongous bar. The bartender for my drink order soon enough. When my drink arrived, i asked for a menu, but no one heard me. I got up and got one from a table. I returned to my barstool reviewing the menu - forever! The guys were busy with glasses and such. I felt invisible. I wanted the trio dip. No one read interested in taking me order after 15 minutes. I flagged someone down to get my check and left. I went to ezzz and had a martini and the ahia tuna nachos. Boatyard sux. Went to duel piano event that was advertised on Facebook with info for ownership to see how many people were interested and clear sign it would be packed. They were understaffed at 630. Wait over an hour for a drink. Getting food was not an option with wait time. One food truck wait time 20 min to order and 30 min to get food. Great entertainment. Perfect family place. I'm only giving it 3 stars b/c I think the service could use some improvement. The servers are always super friendly but it seems the kitchen runs behind a lot & they run out of several of their beers frequently. The outdoor area is awesome for families - my kids LOVE to run around & play & I get to sit & enjoy good food & a drink! It's a huge perk when they have live music. The food is great & they have a decent beer menu - but the past 2 Sundays I went they were out of several draft beers (there were 2 beers that I was eyeing and those were both out, plus the one my husband wanted was out too) which was a little annoying. I visited BoatYard Eats for the first time on Dec 28, 2019. We went in to get something to eat. I ordered one of their speciality salads for $10. I was served romaine with a few tomatoes on it; however, I will say that the flatbread appetizer was really good. I was less than impressed by the bar staff, who seemed to have their own little party going on. The '80s hair band was really fun to listen/dance to. I would not recommend this place without giving fair warning of what to order and informing that their bar stools and chairs are metal (although they are a knock-off of a designer brand) and super uncomfortable. read more

I love the space here at BYE, and they've created a really innovative concept. Food trucks come and park outside, so you have your choice of food there, as well as the small selection that they offer in house. The inside is very beautiful and brand new. The bar is one of a kind, and the inside really does feel "lakeish" and summery. They have a covered patio with seating as well as a larger part uncovered closer to the stage, where they have live music very often. There is also sufficient areas for the kids to play, so the adults can enjoy themselves as well. CONS: Beer is too pricey, at $7-$10/beer. I can't justify that. I think they need to have some drink specials and lower the price of beer to draw more consumers in. I can't speak to the quality of the food because I didn't try any. I'll be interested to see how this place does as the weather cools down. read more

What a beautiful spot. Don't judge from the road, it's well thought out design with large beautiful bar and outdoor seating. Family friendly with corn hole, fenced in playground area so you can enjoy your drinks and eats while the kiddos play. Good food and great service. Audrey is new to Boatyard Eats but doing a wonderful job!! And must I mention the live entertainment . Probably my worst dining experience ever. The highlight was all the staff and mgmt saying we are working out some kinks. This is not their 1st big band night. One couple at our table food was so bad they went to the food truck. Could not get silverware so had to go to food truck to get some. Prime rib at In The Wind would be 110 times better. My recommendation, hire more people and don't serve food. read more

Cool place. First time there last night. However, some major issues if this place wants to rock. Bar - inexperienced and clueless about how to serve patrons. I waited for my first round - saw multiple bartenders walk back and forth past me - I was the only one within a 4 foot area with my card out. Nothing. No greet, no ask - nothing. 5 minutes later, a few people came up to the bar and they served them. Still waiting. I moved to the end of the bar and grabbed another bartender. Came back for a second round and to cash out. Ordered the beer, tasted it and could swear it was not the beer I ordered. I questioned the bartender and he stated that was the beer. Had my wife try the beer as well - not the beer I ordered. From there, I found out today that they ran my card 2x so I got charged twice for the drinks. I went here twice. The 1st time there were supposed to be (4) Food Trucks, there was one Food Truck and an ice cream truck. The 2nd time there was supposed to be (4) trucks including Jive Turkey Legs, I called before going there and was told The Jive Turkey Legs trick was there. I arrived less than 10 minutes after calling and was told the Jive Turkey Leg truck was not there. That was twice I went there and the Trucks advertised as being there were not there. Great location to watch live music as the space is great and not super crowded. That being said how do you order the same drink 3 times and get a different total for all 3?!? I ordered a white claw from two different people at the bar and got 2 different prices and ordered the same drink at the table and got another price for that one. I was with 2 other people who ordered titos with soda and had the same issue. Not good practice at all. read more

So disappointed in this place. Didn't realize it has new owners! We had a horrible experience and will never go back! No more servers food was cold and horrible! Asked for new fries as mine were cold had a young kid Huff and puff like I was totally putting him out! He ran to his manager as if I had done something wrong! His manager came over to inform me they make all their fries fresh! Basically defended his rude employee. I asked hostess if they were trying to discourage kids at their restaurant her answer was Yes ma'am. We will miss the boatyard Eats that was full of families and good food and service. Absolutely loved the atmosphere! Love the open concept and the music outdoors. The reason for the two stars is because when it came to dining it was extremely off. We sat down and ordered, we started with what was suppose to be champagne; but we were given rose wine instead..we mentioned it to our waitress and she said it should be the champagne. We had to explain to her we are avid champagne drinkers and this is definitely not it. She apologized...and because we are not too picky we drank it. We went to order food and were told the kitchen was backed up and we could not order anything. We understand that there are off nights, but this was a terrible start to what we thought would be a cool place. read more

Pro: They did a great job with the place, very nice inside and out. Con: Couldn't get waited on. Went on a Sunday, it was not busy at all. 3 Bartenders standing with their arms folded, 3 Waitresses walking around in circles. No one acknowledged us as we looked for a table. Went there to watch a band with a group. Unbearably crowded. They just kept letting people in at a $5.00 cover charge. By the time the band started you could not move. People were pushing and shoving. Fights breaking out. Impossible to get a drink. We all left 10 minutes into band. Advised manager of my thought and he stated 'I'm short staffed'. This is no excuse. Never again. It was an unsafe atmosphere. read more

The staff at Boatyard Eats is awesome and the new chef is fantastic. We had a surprise birthday party for my brother and everything was so awesome. The food was outstanding and everyone was so friendly and accommodating. I really love the atmosphere and decor, it's light, modern and clean. This place can't seem to get the service right. I want it to work and keep trying but every time there's an issue. Food and drink take forever. If you're outside it's worse, almost like you're forgotten. I watched the one waitress take the single beer menu to four different tables in the hour I was there. Each time a new table sat they went and took the beer menu from the previous table. Please work on the service issues, the venue is too good to struggle like this. read more

Friday night visit for some food, spirits and music. Music: was great as usual, however seating is not comfortable. Metal high top seats with metal bars in the way on the table. Can't sit for long. Spirits: what can I say. They were good and server was great. Food: we ordered from kitchen, couple of pizza's. The crust is awful they need to change it quickly. Cardboard One of pizza's was served with hair. Yuk. Sent it back, lost appetite. After observing the staff I can understand why the food was contaminated with hair. Noticed Multiple servers playing with their hair. One person was twirling and pulling her all night long she couldn't stop. Terrific Atmosphere, we were greeted at the door and we received very prompt and informative service. We have never been, but have seen the crowds for a year, but we went when there was no bands on a Tuesday when their sandwiches were half price and the food was delicious. Enjoyed the outdoor area for the kids, but could use a few additions like corn hole or tetherball or something of the like. Enjoyed $5 mimosas. I wanted to like this place because of the fun vibe I've heard about, but, since we arrived before the comedy entertainment scheduled for later that evening, this review is based on the food. First, the drink order was disappointing when my husband ordered a "New Fashioned" and they subbed an Old Fashioned because they didn't have an ingredient for the first. They didn't give him an option for the sub, just came to the table with an Old Fashioned instead. Unfortunately, the subbed drink was lacking any type of sweetener, so it wasn't even good. Next, we ordered the nachos app to share. It came out at the same time as our entrees, and it was actually cold - as if it had been sitting for 15 min or more. The manager came over later to apologize for that, but we were the only ones there besides one other table, so it was an odd oversight. One of us ordered a burger, and the meat tasted like those pre-made frozen burgers you get from the grocery store. My husband's taco salad was bland. These were simple bar food orders ... hard to mess up, right? The good? They took the nachos off the bill, and the servers were friendly. The bad? Everything else. So disappointing! read more

Took my family to BYE. Arrived a bit before 6 pm. Left at 7:45 and still had not received the appetizers we ordered. They did manage two rounds of drinks in the almost two hours we were there. Manager was aware but didn't haven't professionalism to even come to our table and apologize and take the blame so the poor server didn't bear the brunt of the manager's and kitchen's abysmal failure. Can't comment on the food because we never got any. Served drinks in plastic cups because they said they couldn't keep up with washing glasses. We've been to BYE a couple times since it's opened and its always a good time. It's a large place with lots of seating and tons of food trucks to choose from. Very casual. The inside menu only goes to 9pm, but the food trucks stay later. The only catch, the food trucks are pretty expensive, but the food is great. There are usually bands in the back on weekends, which adds to the festive atmosphere. Kids are welcome, and there's lots to do for them. The whole area is fenced in. Parking is a little bit of a challenge, but we've made it work. Each time we've gone, its been crowded, so there was a definite need for this kind of establishment in the area. Wow. What an experience. We showed up it was clearly busy, understandable that it took a few minutes for the server to get to us. We ordered drinks where she told us a variety of kids beverages that she later came back and told us no kids drinks were available. We said that's fine we'll still take ours but she disappeared and then came back asking us if we wanted to order drinks again and we responded asking for our original order. She apologized and we got our drinks and then decided not to eat there. The service was horrible and the drink I ordered (the Norman) was supposed to have ginger beer in it but only had vodka and lime. It was horrible. read more

Absolutely horrible. Ordered nachos and after an hour went by we were told the kitchen can't handle any more orders. We cancelled all our food we ordered and tried to leave, that took another long time. We would have just left but they had our credit card so we weren't doing that. No sign of a manager at anytime. We had sweet tea and yes they charged us for it. If you are going here eat first and have very low expects and you may be ok. If you want a fun night out do NOT go here. read more
