Oh. My. God. It's hard to find a place to really splurge in good ole rock springs but this is it. We started with the Korean Fried Chicken and it was incredible. Beyond words just unbelievably good. Everything else was cooked perfectly and came out quickly. Our waitress was very kind and the host staff was quick to take care of us as well. Looking for a decent steak in Rock Springs? Boars Tusk will satisfy that craving. We enjoyed some delicious adult beverages, for very reasonable prices, while we enjoyed a truly amazing crab cake appetizer. Our very excellent server, Brittany, told us the crab cakes were made in house- also incredible! The crab cakes are made Baltimore or Maryland style, which is very crab rich- unusual away from the East Coast. We split the ribeye, which he prefers au poive (coated in cracked pepper), a loaded baked tater & seasonal veg. All were absolute perfection. Beautiful decor, terrific service, and wonderful food. Our first part of our review absolutely has to give a massive thank you and show of respect to Brittany who was our waitress. The restaurant was very busy and she handled her job with professional professionalism. We never had an empty glass. Our food was hot. Excellent excellent service. Now to talk about the food. Really exceptional! We had reservations but it didn't seem like we really needed them, as there were only a few couples in the restaurant evening. Quiet but welcoming vibe; music in the background wasn't overwhelming. Our food was very tasty; our steaks were perfect. We didn't have reservations so even though the restaurant was sparsely occupied with guest we still had to wait 15 mins to be seated. I ordered the sirloin with grilled peach salad, which was my favorite thing, and fried okra. My husband ordered the swordfish, seasonal vegetable which was green beans and carrots, and a Cesar salad. I loved everything about this steakhouse. I was just traveling through from California to Denver and stopped in this little town for the night. Most of the smaller towns on the route of I 80 between the Bay Area and Denver are just not great food towns. And most of the restaurants were quite forgettable. However, the Boar's Tusk was a welcome exception. The service was great at the bar where I sat. The steak was fantastic as was all of the accompaniments. The drinks were excellent! The ambience was good and the people were friendly. I would recommend anybody traveling through to come to this restaurant. I was super happy that I went and would gladly go again! read more

Was craving a steak, so I found this spot. I've driven by it and it looks nice from the outside. Once inside it looks very nice. The have a bar that has tvs and the environment was very good. The service was great. The young lady that was at the bar was very friendly, polite and professional. I ordered the top sirloin which comes with 2 sides. My server recommended the whipped Yukon potato's. So that was one of my sides, my second side was a salad. Which I have to say that was a big portion. I had a craving for some French fries so I got some also. The only thing is the fries had a seasoning that I could have done without. Other then that everything was good. One last thing they open at 5pm for dinner. Make sure you check the times before you stop by. read more

Evolution of this restaurant is clearly an art of passion. Things are made in house. If you can't tell the difference between a lava cake from dominos and an artisan crafted dessert , this place might not be for you. The ambiance is incredible, located in the old Union Pacific railroad building. Before heading over, I called to ensure that they have seafood plates for my wife to enjoy and greeted by someone who pleasantly advises us of non meat options. The place is huge and the staff were really pleasant to work with. We ordered a few items and though, we appreciate listening to Ramsay on being generous with seasoning, all the plates were a bit saltier than to our taste. Upon checking around, I guess it was just the saltier taste of the people in the region. Though, kudo to the check of cooking our fish and meat exactly to the temps we are requesting. We were passing through Rock Springs and stopped in at this great find. Thank goodness for Yelp or we would have never stopped here as it isn't located about 3 miles from the Interstate. We say at the bar and the bartender was friendly and efficient. I had the small size smoked beet salad, which was a very generous portion. Very tasty. My husband had the rib eye steak, which was cooked to perfection with good flavor. The French fries were homemade and hot from the fryer. We enjoyed a great steak here in Rock Springs Wyoming. The natural wood in the restaurant was warm and welcoming. Our server, Sergio was a very pleasant and knowledgeable server. Sergio and I had a fun back and forth repartee together. We both enjoyed speaking with him. Now for the elephant in the room...we did something that we rarely do. We asked for a remake on our steaks. Both of us ordered medium rare, as befitting a fine Filet Mignon. Unfortunately they came out medium well. Sergio cheerfully and without a moment's hesitation took them back and had new steaks prepared. We both felt bad, but these were not inexpensive and should be prepared as ordered. Sergio brought out some delicious house made bread with regular and flavored butter. Very quickly new steaks were presented and this time perfectly prepared. They were delicious! Joined with garlic whipped potatoes, the meal was great. As a compensation, Sergio brought out a complimentary three flavor parfait - also excellent! One of the manager's came over to us to apologize one last time for the mis-prepared steaks, If I'm ever in Rock Springs again, I will certainly return to the Boar's Tusk! read more
