I have been living away from royston for the last five years, The boars head always had a certain reputation. however that reputation appears to have changed, after what appears to be new owners in charge and a refurb the pub now seems to be more orientated towards food, and a lot more modern and friendly, from when we first walked in it felt like A country pub but in a town, the place you usually have to drive to get to, I ordered a pint and asked what they recommend one of the regulars suggested the Guiness, and I must say it was the best Guiness I have tried outside of Ireland. My partner ordered the aptly named wild boar rose zinfandel.Me and my partner sat down at a table and looked at the menu, it offered many choices from traditional English food to a few other special items, my partner ordered a home made burger and I had the sea bass from the specials, it appears as though everything is freshly made on site and home made, we waited about fifteen minutes and our food came out with a smile from the waitress. And the food was lovely, perfect for what we were looking for, we would highly recommend this place to any one reading this. It is by far the best place we have found for food since returning in the town and we will be back.
