Disappointing and Costly Misdiagnosis I brought my vehicle to Boardwalk Honda due to a humming noise and went on a test drive with the shop foreman. I was told the tires were the issue and needed replacement. Trusting their diagnosis, I spent $900 replacing all four tires elsewhere. The noise remained. When I returned, I was then told the real problem was a faulty front left wheel bearing, which would be replaced under warranty. This clearly shows the initial diagnosis was incorrect and resulted in an unnecessary expense. This experience significantly damaged my trust in Boardwalk Honda's service department. Took the car in for an oil change and issue with the warning lights. They did the oil change and return the car to us without being able to deal with the warning lights. They asked us to make another appointment. I explained it was difficult to get the car out there and that it took a bit of planning to do so. after reviewing other people's reviews, It seems they still have a lot of work to do to get their customer service right. Horrible dealership. Nobody cares here. I stood there and had to ask for somebody to help me buy a car. They just kept walking past me and ignoring me on the showroom floor - I HAD TO ASK FOR HELP as everyone ignored me. They sold me a car with something stuck on dash and a coffee cup stain. I asked them to try to remove stain, instead they took it upon themselves to remove the other thing AND the stain. Now it has bigger black stain and vinyl is discolored. Told me they would have it fixed then never called me. I made appointment with Sales Manager to discuss issue, only to have him no-show and stick another person with my issue. IGNORANT SALES MANAGER. Then they take it upon themselves to "spray paint" my dash, again, without permission. They do whatever they feel like and have ZERO communication with customers. Won an air fryer was told TWICE to come in and get it, only to have my wife sent home twice because nobody knew anything after being told to come and pick up gift. As she was leaving second time (was told to come back a 3rd time - absolutely ridiculous) only to have the salesperson in the lot say come back inside, I have your gift. It's a total 3 ring circus at this dealership and the reason is there is no owner that cares enough to keep his people in line and customers happy. They only care about getting your money. This is owned by an auto group, so there isn't anybody that cares about losing business. DO NOT BUY HERE unless you want nothing but problems. Made the appointment for recalls a week prior. Yesterday I received email and text message for a reminder to be here. Got up early to bring the vehicle. Waited 30 minutes in line while everybody was walking around doing nothing. When it was finally my turn, I was told I have to make another appointment because they are super busy and recalls would take 3 to 4 hours. Manager name Matt was absolutely unprofessional and very rude. The way he was talking whilst absolutely terrible. No apologize or anything. He said they don't even have the parts. Came for a routine oil change. Showed up 5 mins prior to appointment time. (2:45pm) Sat in line in the bay as per the sign waiting for an attendant. After waiting 20 mins (3pm) in a hot bay and seeing a line of 3 more cars behind me I finally went inside to find someone. 25 mins (3:05pm) after arriving I managed to speak to someone. Only because I spoke up when the service representative asked who was next. If not he was going to wait on another customer inside the building. My car was completed and ready rather quickly after being checked in. About 30mins. The service rep did apologize repeatedly and even applied a coupon for the inconvenience and wait. This did make up for everything when I arrived. It was a nice gesture and unexpected. My suggestion to Honda is to have rep's who only check customers in and a separate set of rep's who complete your final paperwork. read more

We were in the market for a new car for my son. I was fully transparent with Brian (the salesman), that we were headed out on vacation for the holiday. I was asked to put a deposit down on the vehicle on 12/24. I advised him I would not return from vacation until 12/31. I was told no problem. While on vacation, Brian called and text about the deal. I took the time from my family, while on vacation, to do everything I needed to, online app, documents and all to get the deal finalized prior to our return. I also asked if it was possible for us to accept delivery of the vehicle on 1/2/23, because our flight arrival was too close to the closing time on 12/31. Here it is 12/30, and I receive a text from the salesman stating the car sold. Then tells me they can only hold the car for 3 days. Which was NOT stated when I paid the deposit. Again, I was fully transparent about our timeline. They did not even give me until the agreed date of 12/31 to accept delivery of the vehicle. When i called to speak with a manager, they said "I did not accept the final terms of the loan by 5pm on 12/30". Of course, I'm not accepting loan terms prior to seeing the vehicle in person... which I also stated! No problem, we understand. I understand business is business, but shady business... not good! Be honest, and let your customers know policies upfront (if they really exist). Also, be upfront about your quotas! You rushed me because you wanted that end of month/year unit on the board. Now I have an additional inquiry on my credit report (because I was being rushed to complete the app), and we are back on the hunt for the right vehicle at another dealer! No good car stearlership. this is my second review in regards to my purchase at this dealership. Bought the car last July, full asking price. They put "new brakes" on the car, yesterday I was driving and heard a noise in the passenger side front brake. Come home, took the tire off and say that the brake caliper bolt had fallen off and that the brake caliper was hanging off, almost crashed the car. This is my second review since no one can follow up on their word. Once the sale was done i was a nothing. I wrote a review about one sales manager and a different one called me back to ask what can they do to make me happy. I was unsure of what would actually make me happy so JR (the one who called me) said you sleep on it and I'll call you tomorrow. This was three weeks ago! Two years ago I brought my year old Honda here for a routine oil change (which took forever) but the customer service was nice it was whatever. Later that day my car DIED on the parkway. The car wouldn't shift, the dash lit up like a Christmas tree, and then ultimately completely shut off. I actually thought my transmission blew up. After paying a tow truck to tow all the way back to my dealership in Turnersville, I was informed that whoever changed my oil left a rag on the motor which was sucked into the intake, thus making my car "die". After MONTHS Honda boardwalk finally reimbursed me for the oil change and tow truck but to this day I still have issues with it and I completely blame this dealership for almost blowing up my car (yet another problem just arose with my motor hence the late review). I recently brought back to Boardwalk Honda service department my certified pre owned 2017 Honda CRV , for the second time I purchased this car in December of 2020 with slightly more than 9000 miles and today it has a minimum of just a bit more that 10,000 miles , I may drive it to the supermarket twice a month and that is the extent of my driving mostly due to the Covid virus and my not wanting to get it . From December to parts of July there was no need for air conditioning . When their came the time for air conditioning, I had none . To make a long story short , my first visit, I was told a hose was leaking and I was there for 2 and one half hours , a week later , I had to take it back again and this time I'm told it was the compressor and I was there for three and one half hours on Labor Day . My question is, how does this happen when you purchase a certified pre owned vehicle with documents that assure the buyer that everything has been checked and approved . I was told the compressor was not under warranty, but thankfully that issue was resolved. What will I or what should I expect in the future, especially after my warranty is no longer in affect ?? Is this a Lemon that I was sold or was it that those who signed off on the car being qualified to be certified pre owned didn't do there job . My salesman has been helpful with these issues , but what must I deal with in the future . That's my question ? read more

I cannot recommend this dealership. Have been trying to get over $5300 they owe me for over 2 weeks now. I keep getting told by Steve the manager that the "check is in the mail." The paperwork that the dealership and I both signed, states the check would be available in 3 days. I had to ask them to stop payment on the check and send a new check. I have called numerous times, I have been there in person. Went today to make a matter of record police report. Will be filing in small claims court tomorrow. My car ended up eventually being painted due to my warranty. However, I was just driving down the road and the windshield gasket popped out of my windshield and was flapping around splattering black adhesive all over the roof and sides of my car until I could pull over and detach it. I had to get it in to a repair shop immediately since it was going to rain and cause leaking damage to my car. They said not only was this black adhesive the wrong substance used, but the gasket was not replaced properly - they said it looked like it was just cut off when they re-painted my car and shoved back in there with said adhesive. They never rotated my tires during oil changes so my front tires were completely bald and my back tires looked brand new. Recently, my window motor died (my car is a 2015) and the advisor Mike told me with labor it would cost over $600 because there is no after market parts. One of my mechanic friends found an after market part specific for my car for $175..this dealership is a complete scam! The advisor didn't wanna tell me the part is on nationwide backorder and I could just wait for it to come in for half the UPDATE: the GM contacted me and resolved all issues very professionally. read more

This is the second time in a row I have a disappointing experience with the dealership service at Boardwalk Honda. I dropped my car off last evening for a 7:30 a.m. Wednesday appointment as was recommended at the conclusion of the first disappointing experience. By 10:45 a.m. after no call about the status of the needed work, I called and spoke to the receptionist at the service desk who 'couldn't get an answer on the phone in the service area.' I told her the story and requested a shuttle pick-up when the car was finished. She assured me she would personally call me back with the status and note the shuttle need. Not until 1:00 p.m. did I receive a phone call, not from the receptionist, but from Demetrio telling me 'We'll try to get it done today.' Try? No, I need my car for Thursday. I dropped it off early for the early appointment so IT WOULD BE DONE TODAY. Please get it done today. Demetrio called at ~5:05 p.m. The car was done. Great! I asked for the shuttle to pick me up. 'Uh, the shuttle is not available. They are done for the day. Did you tell someone you needed it?' Yes, yes I did! I told you, Demetrio, AND the receptionist. Will there be any kind of compensation in the form of a discount for their poor service and my aggravation? Doubtful. But they can be sure they will not get my business any longer. UPDATE (09/15/16) To Boardwalk Honda' credit, they gave me a $25.00 discount on the completed service and an apology. However, I will not return for future service unless I absolutely have no other choice. read more

Came here for last resort because my car was not jumpable from calling my roadside assistance, even after i replaced the battery. in short, ended up only blowing the main fuse. 4 dollar piece, but charged about 100$ for labor, and another 50$ for other fees. service was also horribly long, even if i made an appointment with some guy, who wasnt even there that morning. you dont need to make an appointment, because they still treated you as first come first serve. but the nicer cars (being the acuras) was able to cut the line first. now thats equality now. i was there first, but they helped other people first. i will NEVER go back here if it is not my last resort. horrible service, horrible people! read more

Came here while on vacation because the axel on our Odyssey went bad. Drop off went great, but that's about all that went well. Received a call that the part would have to be ordered and we could pick up the next day. Spent over two hours the next morning trying to get in touch with the guy in charge of our van repairs, as NO ONE ELSE could update us or tell us anything. Finally updated and told we could pick up at 1pm. Arrive at 1pm and the guy that was helping us had just left for his lunch break. We can't get our van because we can't pay for it due to it being a warranty issue and information was not put into the system by the guy helping us. read more

I felt Boardwalk Honda deliberately tried to embarrass me in front of my daughter. I cannot recommend my salesperson C.G. or the dealership. I was told the price for a specific car would be $16,793, and I was encouraged to bring my daughter in to drive it. It was to be her first car. We went there the next day and drove it. She liked it, but they said the price would have to be $17,900. I asked why it had gone up over $1,000 since the day before, and they said their "printout" indicated other dealerships were charging more for a similar car so they would too. I felt we had been brought there under false pretenses, and that it was an attempt to pressure me and embarrass me in front my daughter. Before I begin my review on my car buying experience, I would to first off state the only reason this review is receiving a 2 star and not a 1 star is due to the 2 decades of business our family has dealt at this dealership with the previous General Manager. The summer of 2019 I had been looking to purchase and new car and laid eyes on their Certified Pre-Owned 2016 Honda Civic Touring in crystal black with roughly 26,000 miles. I had been comparing this vehicle with other dealerships in the area and they all had roughly the same miles, we were assured that this vehicle would be a better choice than the other dealership cars. Because we had done business with this dealership for many years we purchased the car here.(New Management is mediocre at best) After 3 week of having the car I did some clean up changed the wind shield blades since the ones they had on were leaving marks behind, then went to the dealership to get my plates. When I got my plates and service was installing the plates they noticed my car did not have a front license plate mount. They would have to order me one and then come back to get it installed. When I came in to get the plate mount installed the following week I noticed the bumper had slightly been skewed to the left and poorly repainted. When I noticed the issue I brought it to the attention of the service worker and was then directed to Jean and was told they would fix it. After talking to Jean the Sales Manager that Tuesday he said his "bumper" guy would be in on Friday. I came in Friday after school and when I showed up Jean had informed me his bumper guy had left for the day. So he told me to follow up the following Tuesday and he would make sure he would be here when I come in. I came in that Tuesday and the car was brought a crossed the street to Acura to have the paint touched up. When it came back the paint was slightly better but you could feel a gritty texture on the surface. Also the bumper had not been repositioned. After talking to Jean again he said "this was the best that could be done and any other body work would be at my expense. He also said if I didn't like it I could trade it in.(which I would have to shell out more money)." Since I wasn't satisfied by the options given by Jean I was told by a worker in service that talking to the GM Joesph would be my best bet. He had come back from vacation the following Wednesday and so I followed up with a call and met me at the Honda lot to discuss my options. He said he would take my car in to get the bumper serviced. I was given a renter car to use and filled the gas back up when i returned it. After getting the car back from service the bumper had been put back to place. Then I noticed my side indicator lights were not working, so I make another stop to the dealership(6th visit since I purchased the car a month ago). They again had told me my lights had never been installed on the car and they would need to order the parts and come back again. So I come back 3 days after(7th time since I brought the car). After putting on the side indicators and leaving they forgot to put the manual in the car, so I had to come back and grab it the next day. So I called Joe the next day and tried to explain how it's unreasonable to go back to the dealership over 7 times since I purchased the car within a month. What he had told me was "I don't know what you want me to do about it" I was appalled and I didn't know what to say. Moral of the story be careful dealing with this dealership I would highly recommend bringing any car you think of purchasing to be inspected by at a minimum 2 auto shops before considering purchasing. read more

Buyer beware! I purchased a Certified Pre-Owned 2016 Honda Fit from this dealership in October, 2020. At the time, they only had one key fob available for the car, but promised me that they would get in a second fob quickly since the previous owner had probably simply forgot to leave it with them. When it came time to sign the paper that said I had received everything from them, I did say that I hadn't received a second key fob. They assured me that I would get it but that it didn't need to be on the paperwork. More fool me for signing the paperwork. I called several times, mentioned it again when I had to go and pick up the paperwork and was assured that they would have it in and to give them a couple more weeks. About a month later, I called and asked for a sales manager. He assured me he would look into it and that he would call me back in 20 minutes. I'm still waiting. I did call Honda of America and there is nothing that they can do. I will obviously no longer check out this dealership when it comes time to purchase another car - and would strongly recommend that you give them a miss also. I mean it's only a couple of hundred dollars for a key fob but the fact that several in their team were willing to tell me similar stories is a warning. I'm just thankful that, so far at least, it has only been the missing key fob. read more

I purchased 2017 Honda Pilot @ Boardwalk Honda, it was the best car buying experience ever. I have been Emailing all the dealership by me (NYC) and did not get a decent response with price. I was referred to Brian Ford @ Boardwalk Honda by Pilot forum and few Emails and a phone call seals the deal. This is first time I did not have to haggle for good price and being pressured by the sales person. Brian kept me informed throughout the purchase, I even got him a Xmas gift when I went to pick up the car on Dec 24th.... The only thing they can do better is to at least give me a key chain or something, lol..... read more
