I've lived in Atlantic Beach my whole life, and have always gone to Beach Bagel for bagels. I decided to check out Boardwalk Bagel for the first time. Place is clean, orderly, bagels are large, comparable to Beach Bagel. I've heard many good things from a good friend. As for the service: Even though no one else was in the deli, they managed to mess up not only my order, but also my sisters. I ordered a sesame bagel with lox spread, my sister ordered a mini whole wheat bagel. I saw them toasting an everything bagel and asked if I it was mine because I ordered sesame... they claimed I ordered an everything bagel, so I kindly asked them to make my order with a sesame bagel. Once I left, I realized they gave me an everything bagel (which I don't understand because I even corrected them) with what seemed like regular cream cheese (couldn't even taste the lox) and they gave my sister a sesame bagel (instead of a mini whole wheat). We brought our sandwiches back, and they offered to remake them, but after they confirmed they had given me lox spread (which tasted nothing like lox, more like regular cream cheese) I wasn't interested in a new sandwich. I was offered something else in exchange but considering all I wanted was a bagel with lox spread, I declined and left without asking for my money back. It was my first time there, and I'm sure the rest of the food is great, but I'll probably just stick to Beach Bagel because I know what to expect. read more

Best bagel I've ever had in my life ! I'm here in NY with a 4 hour layover made the risk to come to this place. I found it close enough from JFK and also wanted to see the Atlantic waters. I get here and I knew I made the right choice. One of those love at first sight moment before I even step in. I step in and greeted, kind looking staff. Then I get lost in the endless items listed on the menu. In the end Gerard lets me customize my own bagel sandwich. I see a line of people form after I come in and this man orders multiple cinnamon bagel so I get one of that too. I impatiently bite into my cinnamon bagel with strawberry cream cheese while waiting for my everything bagel with lettuce, tomato, scallion cream cheese, avocado, and egg. Wow. Crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. My sandwich was also superb. Ingredients are fresh I cannot believe it! I can never get something this back at home in LA. And right when I was getting out my wallet Gerard states it's on him. God bless you! I am definitely coming back ! read more

Read the Yelp reviews and decided to drive from Tenafly, NJ to Boardwalk Bagel. Was not disappointed! Employees were very nice and the bagel selection was deliciously varied. Only disappointment was that they were sold out of their garlic bagels! When I mentioned I wanted a dozen to take back to Anchorage, they were surprised and happy. Love love love this place!!! The best bagels around. I pass other bagels shops to come here. The sandwiches, wraps, heros are awesome. We love the Jaws & the philly cheese steak which is on the menu as a wrap but I always ask for it as a hero. My kids love the chicken parmigiana dinner. Many of the daily specials are great, especially the penne ala vodka. Breakfast bagel sandwiches are fantastic too. Great food & really great service, which unfortunately is hard to find these days. It's refreshing to have another option on the west end/Atlantic beach area other than Beach Bagel and Deli, where I've been a loyal customer for years. The experience overall is much more pleasant at boardwalk. Friendly greetings, quick service, and most important of all ... great food. The heroes are HUGE! Bagels are top notch (I've been spoiled with beach bagel for years. The sausage egg and cheese is excellent. Cheese is always melted, and I love the way they pre-grill the kaiser rolls. This is just as good, if not better). I usually call up on the way to work and they have my order waiting for me by the time I arrive. Parking is limited and they know it. Im pretty picky and so when trying different food spots im hesitant. I was deliciously surprised at this bagel place. I ordered delivery and was very happy. The bagel was toasted perfectly with crunch, veggie cream cheese was tasty and coffee was pleasantly good! I dont usually get coffee from any place except Starbuck when not home because i love strong coffee! The entire experience was satisfying and will definitely. Be back! The bagels were delicious!!! Great food...my girlfriend and I picked up a dozen bagels and it was absolutely delicious. My only gripe was the service...the folks working there seemed annoyed to have to wait on you.
