Forgive me for I have sinned... I cheated and just found my new favorite deli! Call me loyal or call me crazy (or both) but once I find a deli I like, I try not to go anywhere else for my usual morning bacon egg and cheese sandwiches and a coffee. I just so happened to be biking by when a customer open the door to leave.. I was curious so I slowed down and caught a glimpse of the interior. You see, you can't see through their windows so I always assumed (incorrectly) that it was either never open or just kinda well, blah. From what I saw, it actually appeared to be a recently renovated deli and boasted a bit of modern flare. I couldn't resist - I just had to walk in. And boy was I glad I did. The owner was super welcoming, engaging and very hospitable. They have some very reasonably priced breakfast specials (many which include a free coffee or water) and a ton of different sandwich options that are named after some of their most loyal local customers! I ordered a bacon, egg and cheese sandwich, with the eggs over-easy.. and wowza. It was stuffed with bacon and the cheese was extra runny, just how I like it! So if you're like me and overlooked the place because of the outside, you owe it to yourself to walk and give them a try! read more

Deli Boy has excellent sandwiches. Uses Boars Head products. Salads are fresh and tasty. The cucumber salad is terrific. Can call ahead and place order. Convenient. Cash or credit card. Also great for bf. Their egg on a roll is fantastic with coffee. Which they also serve. The one drawback is parking. They are on a corner and there is only street parking and not too much. Tough at times to get a spot. But the food is consistent and excellent. Worth the effort to park. read more

50-year Baldwin resident. Paid a visit on Halloween for the first time in years. I wasn't recognized when I walked in. I was the only customer in the store. I'm pretty sure I recognized the owner, who served me. The hero was okay, but the owner was rude. He could barely acknowledge me when I thanked him for his service. I thanked him a second time, and he mumbled "you're welcome", no eye contact. That will be my last visit, as Harbor Deli has much better customer service. read more

Delis are many things but rarely clean and organized. This deli was SO clean and organized! You get so many options with your egg sandwich a juice box which is so nostalgic for me LOL, tea or coffee! The service was what really stuck out to me. Very kind. Food came up quickly the guys in there were just very pleasant which goes a long way these days. Staff is always pleasant and accommodating. Lots of great choices for sandwiches. My daughter who lived in Italy for a year claims they have some of the best fresh mozzarella in the states. Be patient. Sometimes difficult to get through during busy times. Wish you could order online but that might overload the staff. read more

Make sure you check your sandwich before leaving. I ordered 6 sandwiches. Said what I wanted for each one very slowly and clearly. Also said exactly what i DIDNT want very slow and clear ! Ordered a turkey, cheddar, jalapeño on wheat toast. Repeated it on the phone, had the guy repeat it back to me. Arrived to pick it up and it was $10.40. The guy repeated the order to me again and it was written down. Left the deli and there were no jalapeños on there. Not to mention the fact that it was almost $11 for turkey and cheese on toast. This place has been here for as long as I can remember, and I have been coming here for a decade. I always run through Atlantic ave, and this is on the way for me. They really do it right for a deli. Their breakfasts are spot-on, cooked as you asked, and they use quality ingredients which might sound silly, but you will be surprised at how many deli's cheap out on simple stuff. My only complaint, which might sound like an oxymoron from my last statement is the cheap ketchup packets they use...I mean come on now really would it kill you to use Heinz, and not some cheap watery crap? Today we were working by the boat and had breakfast, then came back for lunch. Simple as it sounds, they always get it right. Lunch was the same, they make solid sandwiches, and they prepare them right. No sloppy mess that falls apart as you eat it, just delicious goodness! So I walk into this deli to get a half a pound of bologna. When I arrive I am the only one in the store. I order my bologna and I wait. Meanwhile two white men come in after me and order 4 sandwiches drinks and sides. I wait, finally I see the two white men paying for their order and heading out the door. I ask where is my bologna their answer what did you order??? Wtf do you mean what did I order? Nobody could remember what I asked for but they took care of the Caucasian men. I have to say, I really enjoyed the food we had here while I was visiting my sister. Having ventured of to WNY (yes, downstaters, that's even further north than "upstate"...) it's hard to get good breakfast sandwiches. And there certainly isn't a single place around where I live that would understand an order that ended with "salt, pepper, no ketchup," which is how my mother always ordered breakfast sandwiches growing up. Deli Boy is kind of the epitome of what we need in WNY. The breakfast sandwiches were great, the coffee was good, and the service was prompt and friendly. Overall I have no complaints. I'm a big fan of this place. Breakfast is great and so is the sandwiches. The staff is always friendly making sure you get what you need and alerting you of what you get free with your meals. There are two reasons why this place couldn't get five stars from me and that's because the hours and delivery. The store closes at 5pm which is a bummer. Delivery I only tried once and it came very late, and the guy called because he was lost. Mind you driving I'm pretty much around the corner from them. The chili is almost always great, as long as you get there early before the lunch rush starts and people start filtering all the meat out of it and you're just left with a tomato/beef broth. haha.. Best deli in Baldwin Harbor! Consistently thick awesome sandwiches... my favorite there is simply cream cheese and extra bacon (best bacon ever) on a toasted egg bagel. Moderate pricing for the quality product you receive. The owner is cool and always accomodating. ...Aside from finding a 1/2 inch screw in my hero I waited more than 15 minutes for yesterday (no visible construction was bring done?)... and despite the fact that there were more employees behind the counter than customers in the joint, which has been happening more and more often lately... Service is terrible and the deli hours are totally unreliable and the owner is a whacko. went there today for lunch at 230 and they were closed! No sign, nothing. The workers were still inside looking at me through the window. I would understand if this was just a one time occurrence but this is the 4th time that this has happened to me in the past month. I don't have a problem with you closing early but either show some responsibility and work a full day like the rest of the world or change your hours and treat your customers with the respect that they deserve. So this place is a complete waste of your money and even more so, your time. What kind of place only allows one guy to use the cash register? He spends the majority of his day in the back while your food sits on the counter getting cold while you wait for him to show his (not so) pretty face.
