Does anyone remember "watch the tram car please?" If you do your a original "OG" in AC!! If your open minded you can enjoy the best Boardwalk ever!!! There are Tram rides, old souvenir shops, pizza, and patio bars!!! Not to mention access to the most exciting casinos in the world. So people watch and grab a drink and walk..

I hadn't been here in years and decided to visit during the long weekend. It has definitely changed over the years as expected. I recall the days of a bustling boardwalk filled with shopping, busy casinos, and museum. This time around Ripley's museum was closed (sad to see such a big empty building), casinos were moderately filled, and a steady flow of cart pushers that made walking the boardwalk a sport. I understand some may not be able to walk the full boardwalk and these carts could help, but they should really designate a lane just for the carts. They weave through people and then there is the Hard Rock tram trying to move through. This makes you constantly have to dodge them both as you try to take a leisurely walk. This is a bit dangerous at night when you may not see them as clearly. The area around Ceasars casino is very well lit, but as you go towards Margaritaville and Hard Rock it is darker. Lots of shops selling basically the same thing - souvenirs, clothing, $5 henna art. They sell ice cream, funnel cakes, pizza by the slice, Italian ice, etc. The nicer restaurants seemed to be inside of the Hard Rock casino. The carnival area is usually packed as people try to weave through games, stand in line to buy tickets for the rides, or buy carnival food. Ferris Wheel tickets were priced at $12.

One of the best things in Atlantic City is walking their world famous boardwalk. Not only is it free but you can see various wildlife such as cats, squirrels, seagulls and bunnies. The seagulls will take your food if you decide to feed one. The bunnies will generally run away from you if you get too close. The squirrels have learned to approach humans to see if they get food. I gave one of them a cashew that I was eating and they have now remembered me and approach me each time I pass by.

Iconic oceanfront boardwalk featuring views & a variety of shops & restaurants since 1870. Historical landmark in Atlantic City, New Jersey Love just sitting on a bench and taking it all in.

This was a really pretty place at night. I loved the string lights. There was a lot of people to watch! I think after dark, it's not really a place for kids. It almost turns into Vegas. Good for me, I don't have kids. There are a lot of restaurants, shops, and casinos. You have beach access right from the boardwalk.

Better than I expected. Clarification, my expectations were very low. I have never watched jersey shore, but have heard enough to think it wouldn't be my cup of tea. I do enjoy anytime I am near the ocean. Cleaner than I expected on boardwalk and felt much cleaner than Ft. Lauderdale and Miami Beach but less clean than Santa Monica Pier. Many dead areas between shops. Good variety of transportation including hand carts and little shuttle trains. Beach had a lot of broken glass and signs indicate the fun police had to be put into place likely because people have made poor choices. Basically can't play catch, no umbrellas, no pets and the list goes on. Overall not a bad little area. Good mix of old dingy Vegas meets an ever so slightly sketchy florida beach.

Love the AC Boardwalk ! For one of the first weekends of spring and my first real drive out of New York City .. I can completely say I had a more than perfect Easter weekend at the Boardwalk. Great place for friends, family and dates.

At night avoid the almost completely closed and barren North End, and stay in the busier areas between the Tropicana and the Steel Pier.

This should honestly be a two part review. One for the beach and one for the boardwalk. They are…read moretwo separate areas and should be separate landmarks to be enjoyed. Also, don't trust the Yelp sort for reviews when looking at the page, they are only going to show you the five star reviews from over a decade ago. Let's start with the beach. Beautiful and peaceful. Great for a walk to clear your head and to just get a little bit of an escape from the chaos of the boardwalk. Walking the beach, hearing the lapping of the waves, feeling the breeze. This could be any other beach if not for the high rise casinos nearby. The boardwalk now. Lord, I can echo everyone that said it is a long walk. Really long walk. But it is something to do if you so feel inclined. I did walk the thing in almost all of its entirety. The ends, away from the hustle and bustle offer some great views and places to sit and enjoy the day. The areas around the casinos and hotels, a bit crazier. What I noticed most about the boardwalk is how disjointed it felt in this area. You could walk a block length of the boardwalk and have a ton of options to do things, then there would be a block where nothing was open. Just abandoned storefronts. Then blocks that had a mixture of full and abandoned storefronts. Along the way there are places that have monuments and plaza type areas to skip off the boardwalk for a break. Connecting the piers, beach, casinos, hotels, shops, monuments, and restaurants. It can be crowded at times. With more than just people taking up space, you have the push cart things and then you have to watch for the motorized vehicles. There is a tram like taxi thing that you can pay to use that goes up and down the boardwalk. Then there are the police vehicles you need to be aware of as well. Just keep in mind that the yellow lines in the middle of the boardwalk is the area they should stick to. Or you could just walk on the boardwalk, but do it at your own discretion. I was walking along behind a couple of ladies and one of them went down. I'm sure this was embarrassing. to her. The boardwalk needs some maintenance. She had tripped over a nail or whatever they use to secure the boards. It was sticking up out of the boardwalk. They did a quick, simple fix to it as I passed it later, they just pounded it over and then down into the boards. I sure do hope that they are able to fill in spots to liven up the boardwalk ab bit more.

THE GOOD ----------------…read more+ Boardwalk is suppper long (supposedly the longest boardwalk in the world at 5.5 miles) and is accessible from multiple casinos. + Beach is free to access and monitored by lifeguards during the summer months/beach season. + A lot of restaurants, small eateries and souvenir shops line the boardwalk. + The Steel Pier and Playground Pier sit on the boardwalk and provide plenty of amusement park fun and shopping. THE NOT SO GOOD ---------------------------- - Can be a bit sketchy with suspect characters walking around here and there. - The only safe parking for the boardwalk is probably through a casino parking lot.

This place is squeaky clean, super safe, and delightfully dry (as in, no alcohol allowed on the beach) The boardwalk has everything a family could want: pizza slices bigger than your head, fudge that defies logic, mini golf courses every 15 feet, and rides that are reasonably priced.
