A beautiful beach with access points on EVERY road! What's not to love. There's lifeguards on duty by many of the access points and many beautiful places to throw down a blanket and enjoy a book. Tons of great businesses to patronize before and after your beach visit as well. BIG waves during our October visit which made paddle boarding (or my version of it which is just going weeeee on lil waves) super fun. A 6.5 hour drive from Rochester and a really good option if you're just looking for a speedy getaway. read more

Beautiful clean beach here! I love Stone Harbor. The ocean is so mesmerizing and parking is not that hard to find if you want to park on a side street. Also they don't harass you to death for beach tags in my experience- many times the entrances to the beach aren't staffed with beach inspectors. Lifeguards are excellent and there are snack shacks and of course the mobile "Fudgey Wudgey" ice cream cooler. There is even a great Wawa in town if you are on a budget. Picnicking is not allowed and that is the reason the seagulls aren't out of control. The shops are great! One of my new fave shops is "The Well Dressed Olive". Get here early and don't miss out on the "Bread and Cheese Cupboard" piggy buns or theee "to die for" pepperoni tangy savory bread- cash only (booooo!!!) lots of fun at Hoy's and some junky type souvenirs that are fun n frivolous for all. Don't miss their happening t shirt and sweat shirt collection boasting the Stone Harbor name. Bathrooms are near the water tower in the shopping district. Things in Stone Harbor tend to cost a lot more. Be prepared. This area is crawling with money, so you are going to spend money! After hearing about how cute Stone Harbor was, we decided to make a day trek while vacationing in Cape May. It was off peak but there were still lots of people. They have a nice downtown that is...um...cute I guess. Plenty of eating establishments along with shopping and everyday spots. Nearby there is a beach which we didn't check out but we did have lunch at one of their restaurants. People seemed friendly but it's definitely a "rich" beach town. During the summer we hear it gets pretentious but we didn't witness anything of the sort while there. A nice stop a stroll and grub. read more

Great place for a calmer vacation rather than a high pop. place, people attitudes are arrogant and annoying however.

This beach had really good and accessible parking within feet of the beach. I went on a Monday so maybe that's why. Unfortunately no chair or umbrella rental was at this location and no shade. Luckily I parked at 30th street and set up a spot under the pier. That worked out super well as I would not have been able to hang out in the sun all day otherwise. The beach was very clean as well as the restroom and the parking area. The day tag was $6.50 and no one even asked for it. I would suggest getting your lunch in the way in and don't rely on the food near this area. Not very adventurous or delicious. read more

Stone Harbor Beach is the best parking is great the 95th Street lifeguard area the best also it has a rubber mat goes always halfway to the water on the beach area it is so nice to walk on this mat. The shops are great, shopping for clothing is very reasonable also the food is great there's so many different places to eat . Just come down and you'll see it's worth the ride we live in South Jersey so it's about an hour and a half from where I live read more

Love this beach. But pricey, at 8$ a head, but worth it not to have the 'riff' vibe that you get from many of the other more popular jersey beaches. Great for collecting shells, and the water was clear and beautiful. We got the treat of seeing what seemed like at least a hundred dolphins swimming and playing. Definitely would recommend it if you have the extra money. read more

Ok, I've gotta say it... I'm a little disappointed in myself for my beach negligence here. I have ALWAYS loved the south because I'm a fan of white sandy beaches and crystal waters. I have put off going to the northern states because somewhere in my mind I didn't think the beaches would be as pretty. Well, I need to smack myself because Stone Harbor was like a dream I didn't want to wake up from. As we drove in I couldn't stop taking pictures! There was bay area on both sides of the road, and it was like a picturesque postcard of a place I never knew existed. The houses were incredible, and when we pulled up to ours I walked out to the deck and could see the beach off in the distance from all sides. WOW!!!! The town is quaint and charming, with things to do for all ages. The beach was just breathtaking. The white sands burned at my toes, and I saw a few sunsets that will live in my mind for the rest of my life. We found so many unique shells, horseshoe crabs, and even a few fish! Conch shells that were still living were pulled up with the tide, and we even saw a few dolphins as they jumped out of the water! I have never seen a cleaner beach in my life, and all the people were very friendly. The lifeguards were attentive and everyone had a huge smile on their face. I can't wait to go back someday soon. Stone Harbor will live in my dreams until then. read more

The beach itself probably gets a five, but I'm from FL and I like warm water. First, the water is cold even for July (again, I'm from FL, so...). But, the sand is super clean because a huge tractor comes by in the morning and sweeps up the sand and cleans it (I'm from the Gulf and I've never heard of that...ok). So, yes, you do need a ticket thing for the beach, which also pays for the lifeguard (again, not a thing where I'm from!). So, when the life guard is out you can only swim in designated areas. The beach is very family friendly--lots of kids and families. Lots? Tons! It's very grandma and the grandkids sort of thing. It's very pretty. There are dunes that block the view of the houses for the most part, so it has a very natural look. The town itself is sort of small (depending on where you are from). It's several blocks of shops (general stores and boutiques) and restaurants. There's a bit of everything, but not a lot. It's a friendly, family place that's not overly touristy. We also went to a playground that is near the beach. Closer to the downtown is a public restroom, but I haven't seen an area that's near the beach for showers as I think most people rent or have a hotel near the beach. I don't think it's a sort of day trip place, although I could be wrong. read more

I love Stone Harbor, not only because it was my favorite beach as a kid but because I've lived in florida for 16 years and got to experience all the #1 rated beaches there and stone harbor gives me some of those things that I know I love. -it's chill, I'll never go to a wildwood style beach willingly. -it's clean, everyday it's clean, all the time. -they offer restrooms and waste receptacles, without these there's bound to me a mess somewhere. -it's friendly, everyone is nice, probably because we're all happy to not be in wildwood -lots of parking within easy access to the beach -lifeguards are pros -- this is great to have because I've got kids. I highly suggest stone harbor for a great beach destination but don't all come at once, cause I dont want it getting all mucked up! read more

I'm writing this review for the shops and mostly the beach. The shops are fantastic in stone harbor. There is a large variety and mostly boutique shops. The mini golf is great and so is the movie theatre. Now for the beach! We've been coming here for years! It's by far one of the best beaches in south jersey. There is always an ample amount of parking, although it's a $1.00 and hour. The beach is always clean. It's a bit on the high side it costs $58.00 for 2 season passes. I think it's well worth it though, much better then the free beaches. They do offer umbrella and chair rentals. There are also ice cream stands throughout the beach. Solid 5 stars for the island of Stone Harbor, we love it here.. read more

Fabulous beach 15 minutes away from the touristy Wildwood beach. You decide the pros and cons for yourself. I'm going to provide a list and add a pinch of my under developed sardonic wit. 1. You don't have a boardwalk 2. You can't purchase food that will slowly clog your arteries and eventually kill you. 3. You can't throw away money playing stupid games 4. You don't have to walk a mile to get to the water. 5. You will have to share the beach with some birdies. 6. You will realize as you drive around town and when you get to the beach that the people and the homes seem uppity. 7. You would probably thank your stars that you found this quiet, sophisticated haven that is a change from other Jersey Shore fare. 8. And then some girls will walk up to you and ask if you have day tags. That's when you decide whether to cough up $6 per person for the privilege to stay or leave. If it is a good weather day and you are not a family of 10 (keep busy are we?!) stay! read more

Stone Harbor Beach is clean, beautiful and well kept. Rub elbows with rich people! There's always something going on. Surf lessons for the kids, swimming at lifeguard protected beaches, or you can just relax and read a book. You'll need a beach tag, but it's well worth a few dollars they're asking. Clean public bathrooms, parking lot, and outdoor shower to rinse your feet off. There are even pizza places and hoagie shop that deliver to the beach. You can visit the famous Stone Harbor WaWa.
