My…read moresister and I lived far from Vero and we were concerned about our father having no family in the area, yet needing care (and caring). We were blessed to then have Caron D'Ambruso (of Active Home Health) enter our lives. Initially is started with Caron helping clean and dress my father's skin cancer wounds which he had not been properly tending to. Not only Caron provide care for his wounds, she demonstrated a compassion and a caring for him as a person, something he desperately needed in his poor physical and isolated condition. Despite my father's decline, he was highly intelligent and a former trail lawyer who could be a bit of a "curmudgeon" and not easily trust people. Caron's loving and caring style, combined with her high intellect (she is a Harvard graduate), quickly earned her a special place in my father's life. He respected her greatly and lit up when she would visit to care for him. She wasn't just providing care for his physical wounds, but also his emotional ones. And that is because she actually cares for the people she is treating. Knowing that his two daughters lived in other states and cities, Caron provided us with updates and shared insights about his condition and care that he needed. This was instrumental in our knowing what additional resources and doctors he needed. On the morning I flew down to see my father and take him to a new neurologist for memory issues, my father collapsed in his apartment with a stroke. After landing, I called him on my drive to Vero Beach and he did not answer the phone. I called Caron and expressed my concern, and asked her to let me know if she saw my father in the common areas of the facility. I was about an hour away in the car and was anxious. Caron took it upon herself to go to his apartment. When she knocked, she could hear his small dog barking, but no one answered. Caron sought security who helped her enter his apartment and they found him on the floor in dried blood and urine. Caron immediately tended to him and called for an ambulance via 911. The paramedics arrived and Caron called me to let me know what had happened. I re-routed my rental car to the hospital. My Dad had to be in the hospital and then a rehab facility for over three weeks. During this treatment period, Caron visited my Dad on her personal time in both the hospital and rehab facility. She helped bring changes of clothing and other items he needed. Given my father's stroke and his lack of proximity to family, my sister and I decided that we needed to move him back to his hometown of Fort Lauderdale once he was released. This would get him closer to family and friends which he clearly needed. The saddest part of this decision was that Dad would lose his nurse and caring friend, Caron. It was a big loss indeed. Needless to say, Caron was a Godsend to my father and family. She continues to occasionally check in to see how he is recovering. We miss Caron and hope that others who are in the Vero Beach area are fortunate to have her care, and the other great caretakers at Home Health Care.

The audiology staff performed thorough hearing testing and provided a very understandable evaluation of the test results with informative recommendations of what to purchase based upon our needs to help us with our declining hearing and tinnitus. This beach had an education center across from the beach with nice clean bathrooms. This center had nice walking paths around the intercostal, the other side. The parking was free but limited. There was space to park on both sides. If you can find parking. I recommend checking the beach out.

Blowing Rocks is an amazing natural look at what the Florida Shoreline should look like. They have…read moretwo trails you can go through for the maritime hammock one close to the beach and the other by the intercoastal. The beach is unguarded and as the name suggests has exposed rocks. The rocks are super fun to explore. While I enjoyed my time there the parking area is quite limited so getting parking can be a hassle but one that is well worth it.

The staff is always so nice and greet you when you walk in and the admission is FREE unless you'd like to make a donation which is greatly appreciated and helps the local turtles and sea life. Kids will have a great time! They even have a children's play area on the upper deck. Very interactive! The outside area is shaded with canopy's and has many tanks filled with turtles, sharks, fish, and stingrays. It's amazing to see and get up close with the beautiful creatures God has created. They have guided tours and there are many volunteers near the tanks to answer all your questions. Very nice, dedicated crew. My favorite is the gift shop. It has a bit of everything you could want and makes a perfect place to get gifts and souvenirs for your family, friends, and yourself. I got a beautiful necklace, a beautiful collar and leash for my puppy back home, and a postcard for my friend. Everything is priced really fairly and it is a donation to help the turtles at the marine life center. I would recommend getting there early or when they open. Parking is HORRENDOUS. It always is usually especially with spring break. You might be waiting awhile for a parking spot. If you see someone starting to leave or backing out wait behind them and give them room to back out and then pull in to their spot. Parking is the only thing that's stressful but you can eventually get a spot. This is a must visit place for the whole family. I love Loggerhead!

The entire event was set up neatly, and you could tell how much care and effort went into making it special. The volunteers and staff were incredibly knowledgeable and super friendly. They took the time to explain the different species of sea turtles and shared so much interesting information in a way that was easy for both adults and kids to understand. It was not only fun, but also a wonderful learning experience. The festival itself was fantastic. There was live entertainment on stage, many vendors to explore, and even free rides, which my kids absolutely loved. The setting alongside the ocean, with the clear blue water, made the whole experience even more beautiful. I also appreciated the hydration stations with free water--it showed how thoughtful and well-planned the event was.

Our experience was fantastic. Justin, our ax instructor, was great and offered some excellent tips on how to hold the ax and release it better to land on the wooden target without ricocheting off. Like the Boynton Beach location, the Jupiter Game of Axes offers some beer, wine, hard seltzer, and light cocktail options in cans and bottles. They have some beers on tap as well. The price to rent a lane is by the hour, which is adequate to do at least nine (9) rounds of ax throwing without getting tired. If you need an activity to kill time, I recommend checking this place out in the afternoon or evening.

The guide at the top knows a lot of history and is more than willing to take your photo. The view from the top is stunning. I like that there are resting spots as you climb that you can rest and look out. The authentic Seminole Chickee Hut was a nice shady spot to talk with other guests. The admission is reasonable, and it all goes to restoration and staffing. I passed this lighthouse so many times when I was growing up, so it was a thrill to visit and and climb. There is a stunning banyan tree that is very impressive. There is also a dock where you can watch the passing boat traffic. We happened to see a pair of Manatees, which was a real plus.
