Really enjoyed the environment and the wings. Our family all enjoyed our Meals and the excellent waterfront location. The other Family with us had a different experience. Although they enjoyed their food, Boardriders was out of a lot of their choices and then for charged for things they didn't get. This is hands down the best beach bar on the island. The food is always cooked to perfection, the drinks are spot on, the staff is always friendly and the view of the surfers is way cool! Boardriders is a great little spot with a fantastic view of the beautiful Luquillo beaches! The waves can get pretty crazy right in front of the restaurant so if you're lucky you'll get to see a bunch of people trying their hand at surfing which is fun to watch. The service was good, and the food awesome -- we had the make-your-own mahi mahi fish tacos that my husband raved about, and I had a cheeseburger (I know, but after 5 straight days of fried seafood I needed something class). The burger was pretty standard but had great flavor. Would recommend this place to anyone looking for upscale bar food with a great ocean-side view! read more

Terrific experience here. Beautiful ocean view, top of the line service, and great tasting food. Our server Ismael was awesome - he spoke great English and was super attentive and helpful when we had any questions. We had the hummus for an appetizer, which tasted great, then my wife had a bacon cheeseburger and I had the Ribs and Wings Combo. Beware - even the small size of Ribs and Wings will fill you up quick. We thoroughly enjoyed both our entrees, and then finished the night off with a piece of cheesecake. Also, FYI, they have happy hour deals from 5-7 pm on Monday through Friday on select drinks. We didn't arrive until 6:45 but worth noting for those interested. Waited an hour for a salad and some tacos and the food was terrible. The tilapia tasted like the inside of an old refrigerator. They charged a dollar for a thimbles worth of guacamole to go with the tacos. Salad was average at best. One star for our lovely waitress and another for the hot sauce. What can I say ... strong drinks and great food. I ordered the mahi fish tacos ... wow!!! Two huge pieces of perfectly grilled mahi ... and all the fixins to make great tacos!!! My wife and I visited Boardriders on multiple occasions and were 100% satisfied each time. We were told they had the best fish tacos on the island and those definitely lived up to the hype. All of the various food we had was always beautifully prepared with fresh ingredients. The atmosphere and location right on the waterfront are perfect. Great spot right across the street from the beach. After some pretty disappointing meals at our resort, this place was a breath of fresh air. While the food wasn't gourmet quality, the location and vibe made for a great meal (can't beat live reggae music and a gorgeous sunset overlooking the water). We were swimming and surfing at Luquillo Beach, we went to Boardriders for lunch on Saturday and then again on Sunday..I had the fish tacos both times, tilapia the first day and then shrimp the next day, they were fantastic. The homemade hummus was delicious and the tuna bites were seasoned and cooked perfectly. The bartenders and waitstaff are all smart, quick and friendly. This place is laidback but clean, professional and fun. Unfortunately, we were unable to stick around for any of the live music they had lined up for the evenings. The food is average, but the customer service is terrible. We ordered the scallops with rice, a burger, and mozzarella sticks, and two sodas. Our food came out before our drinks or appetizer?!?!? That would be a good thing Ifbit wasn't 20 minutes later. I tell my waitress, who sounds upset with me that I no longer want the mozz sticks. She then brought our sodas, and walked away without a word. Oh, they also charged us for a salad as a side that we didn't order. I usually don't review restaurants based on service alone because I realize one employee can have a bad day...but we had a similar situation here the year before. Vegetarian Review: Ate the vegetarian wrap, which had hummus and some vegetables. it was good that they have a veg option that was wasn't just a fried appetizer, but it wasnt particularly memorable (admittedly, I was more focused on the beers).
