James and his crew did the most top quality painting job within a time frame that was established upfront, he performed the work on time and within the agreed budget. Furthermore, James communicated effectively via phone or text, so that there were no surprises. They were always courteous and professional paying special attention to detail. They took very good care of our belongings and of others by taping and covering everything to protect it from paint. For example: He not only taped around window and door frames, but would also cover any of the neighbors' cars with plastic, so that they would not get any accidental paint. They also removed unneeded fixtures like old satellite dishes, and unused cables that were in the way at no extra charge. James fulfilled my expectations and for that we have hired him again for jobs on another house. I highly recommend Cougar Painting for any quality painting job.

They power washed our house and then did a great paint job. I was concerned about our roofs and I asked that they put the ladders on plywood while on the roof painting and they did. The workers came on time and worked very hard while they were there. He brought in a special person to repair the redwood trim on the house. When they finished, they promptly cleared everything away. Mr Tucker, the owner was most cooperative and made sure we got the right kind paint for our house. The workers had little to say, they just went about doing the job. We were happy with the job and the price. N.Watson

AWESOME contractor! Mr. Ayala & his sons work efficiently with attention to detail, providing high…read morequality construction work for a very reasonable price. After painstakingly interviewing a dozen contractors over several months, Mr. Ayala's extensive construction experience, kind and respectful demeanor, relatively short time-line to complete the job (a few days!!! - instead of at least 2 weeks like the others) and highly competitive cost estimate won my contract! When, as virtually in all construction projects, unanticipated events popped up, Mr. Ayala and his sons managed them with assuring style and in stride. Each of them at different times during the project reiterated that they're working to make their customer happy. Being somewhat of a neat-freak, I very much appreciated how at the end of every day, they cleaned up extensively after themselves. In fact, Mr. Ayala could often be seen picking up stray debris that was barely visible to me after his sons vacuumed. This project entailed: installing prefabricated quartzite kitchen countertops; a cast iron sink; a new dishwasher air gap; a built-in soap dispenser; a touchless faucet, and a high-powered garbage disposal. Mr. Ayala and his extended family also specialize in any home construction project, floor installation, painting, plumbing and electrical work. Me, my neighbors and my friends are already discussing our next projects with Mr. Ayala and his family. So, I'm sure his schedule is getting filled. But when you find someone with such skilled expertise, thoughtfulness and integrity - you just continue returning to the one you trust. May your home projects go as well as mine did!!!

The crew leader for Jeff really made sure that the job was done right and they went above and beyond. Just the little stuff, like removing the two old direct tv satellite dishes from the previous owner... They did it without question, and made me feel comfortable when I asked questions. To be honest, Jeff's price was the same or higher than a couple other people, but you really pay for what you get. My neighbors told me some horror stories, and once I met Jeff and saw his proposal - I know The Paint Company was the one for me. See you in a few years Jeff!

I had two separate painters commit and flake on me. Then I found James and John Painting, and I'm…read moreso happy that I did. It's now John and his son Nico, no James. They walked the property, we talked some details, and they gave me a competitive bid. They started two weeks early. They pressure-washed, pulled nails, caulked, patched, scraped, and fixed up our house. That was A LOT OF WORK. Then they primed with rollers and painted with spray. It was funny because the primer had a bit of yellow in it, and it almost perfectly matched the color of the old house. I panicked but John calmly set me straight. They went back and with brushwork for the trim and touch-up, a three color job for us. OUR HOUSE LOOKS FIRE-TRUCKING GORGEOUS. I'm not allowed to use bad words here, sadly. The paint is thick and even with close attention to detail. The wood is smooth. It's all just so darned good. It was also an immense amount of work. A 2800 square foot ranch home, a separate ~2400 square foot split-level four-car garage with apartment above, a well house, and a fire pit. There was tall-ladder work on a hillside with eaves 30 feet up. John and Nico just plugged away at it like the true professionals they are. I'm so impressed. Plus they're a lot of fun to talk to. I've had good contractors and bad contractors. John and James Painting are the best, period. I'm sad that they're done and leaving.
