Had lunch there today. Was OK. Mediocre sandwiches in a vaguely beach themed atmosphere. I had the 'Tom's Choice' sandwich. I think perhaps Tom misunderstood the question. Although the sandwiches are pictured with an orange sauce on them, it is actually served on the side in a little plastic tub, which means you must dismantle your hastily assembled sandwich to apply the sauce. The stuff is kind of a loose rendition of French dressing. I suspect it is the 'Brew' that brings them in. A Saturday afternoon visit and there was no seats at the small U shaped bar. The bar flys here looked like they were the lost patrons of the Mimi's Cafe bar that had finally found a new home. It was an otherwise sedate bar setting, with quiet, disaffected chatting. No one was ready to fight, surrender being the rule of the day, likely owing to the influences of the afore mentioned French dressing. I've been going to this spot as soon as this location opened. I love all the B&B spots but this one in particularly is special. The people are so kind, welcoming, even greeting you on the way out. There's good beer, good sandwiches, and overall friendly staff! They have great bartenders (Sarah!!!) that make coming here a good time. Love that there's always new local beer on tap. I am so happy for this new location since it is closer to my home. Board and Brew never disappoints I ordered my favorite sandwich " the Turkado" it's so good and refreshing with super fresh ingredients. Staff was very nice and helpful. We also enjoyed the whole restaurant set up and we're able to pick a table. Our food was also brought to our table for the Dine in option. That is definitely a plus and I will be forever visiting this location. read more

Love that board and brew has finally come to Lake Forest! The food is so fresh, mostly healthy and yummy!! I am in love with the turkey deluxe. I get it with avocado, sprouts and some light onions.... So good with the secret sauce on top! My daughter loves the left coast pastrami , Their salads are awesome too and super fresh!! Their customer service is Supreme! All of the employees are super friendly and helpful... which is saying a lot especially post Covid when it's hard to get good customer service these days. So go and check out board and brew, You won't be disappointed! My one suggestion would be that if I hadn't found out about Board & Brews Opening, I wouldn't really know they are there where they're at. I think it would be awesome If they had some cool bright colored umbrellas out on the patio, would bring more attention to their business, and attract more customers, other than that they are doing an amazing job! Next time we come in, maybe will grab a beer or some wine with our sandwiches and or salads... don't forget the secret sauce! read more

Been here several times. The beer is flat half of the time and the special sauce has tasted like it went bad.

It just opened and my wife wanted to go. I was skeptical because I thought the "Brew" was coffee but I was wrong. $4 tap beer and really good food. My wife had the roast beef dip and I had the pastrami, both were delicious! The roast tastes like they make their own and thinly shave it and was not over done. We've had sandwiches from Lake Forest Board & Brew twice now, and we love it! It's very easy to order online and quick to pick up. Friendly and quick service. The sandwiches are excellent! You can immediately tell that all ingredients are fresh, and the portions are very large and filling. Since I've only done pick-up, I haven't had the chance to dine in yet, but the inside is super clean and there is a cool bar and patio area that looks fun. Glad to see this new sandwich shop in LF and I hope they thrive here! read more

New kid in town! Sandwiches are great- love the rolls. I had the Roast beef dip with cheese, onions, jalapeños - so big had to take half home! Note- draft beers are only $3bucks for Feb and March 2023- can't beat that! The outdoor patio will be great for summer. Only downside is I wish the bar seating was bigger. read more

I had the Turkado sandwich, and it was delicious. It was so fresh and looked like a picture of a sandwich you'd see in a commercial. Someone took care putting together that sandwich! My only issue is that the turkey was a little salty, but maybe if I'd used my sweet and sour sauce on the sandwich rather than my chips I wouldn't have noticed. I'm going to try that next time. Honestly, would have to agree with the other 1 star review posted and the sandwiches aren't great. You can make them at home. Nothing special at all. That sauce they show being pored on the sandwiches has no rhyme or reason. It doesn't taste good. Great service and friendly staffs. The sandwiches are delicious and large portions. I love their California delight and my kids like their Tom's choice and Turkado. The owner is really nice and helpful and his little boy is so cute. The little guy was always busy with cleaning the tables and handing foods to customers. Walked in today (Fri) at 1:30pm and stood at the front counter while two employees talked about what shifts they were working for 5min before an order was taken.
