I purchased a used BMW several months ago from CarMax and brought it in to BMW North Scottsdale for an independent inspection. That was my first introduction to Eric R. as my service advisor, and he immediately made a great impression. The technician identified a few issues that needed attention, and instead of pushing to keep all the work in-house, Eric actually recommended I contact CarMax first to see if they would cover some of the repairs since I had just purchased the vehicle. That level of honesty and customer-first service was a welcome surprise. And to CarMax's credit, they did address some of the issues. For the remaining items, BMW North Scottsdale handled the repairs and did an outstanding job. Most recently, I needed to replace my windshield and already had a service appointment scheduled. I reached out to Eric to see if BMW North Scottsdale handled windshield replacements. While they don't, he gave me the contact information for Penske Rapid Repair and even suggested coordinating both appointments together to save me time. Unfortunately I couldn't make the timing work, but my service visit still went smoothly from start to finish. I usually wait at the dealership while my car is being serviced because the amenities are excellent. The downstairs waiting area has two coffee machines, snacks, free Wi-Fi, large TVs, plenty of tables, and comfortable seating. Upstairs there's another coffee machine and smaller waiting area, plus it's fun walking around the showroom checking out all the cars--especially the M and M Sport models upstairs. Even the parts department is worth browsing because it's stocked with BMW merch. One of my favorite things about their service department is the inspection video the technician sends showing exactly what they found on the vehicle. Eric also always takes the time to review the inspection results with me, including estimates for recommended maintenance, and he's great about answering follow-up questions honestly--especially when I ask whether something needs immediate attention or can wait. I also appreciate that most communication, including payment, is handled through text which makes the entire process incredibly convenient. Overall, this has consistently been one of the best dealership service experiences I've had, and it's the reason I continue bringing my car back to BMW North Scottsdale. read more

This is the third car I have purchased from this dealership, and it may be the last. Over the past 10 years, the experience has declined to the point where it feels more like a basic, non-luxury dealership. They do not even offer bottled water to customers, and if you are transferring belongings from your old car to your new one, do not expect more than a Fry's grocery bag. I understand that customer loyalty does not mean much anymore, but it was still disappointing to feel nickel-and-dimed throughout the process. The initial trade-in offer was so low that I almost walked out. They also fixated on a tiny windshield crack on my trade-in, repeatedly insisting I file an insurance claim or pay out of pocket to replace it. This is hardly my first car purchase. I spent years in the automotive industry, and my grandfather owned a dealership for 40 years, so I understand how the business works. And if a dealership truly cares about its clients and their experience, it should not operate this way. To be fair, my salesperson was very nice and seemed like a genuinely good employee so I have no complaints about him personally. My frustration is with how the dealership itself is being run. I love my X3, but going back to BMW North Scottsdale for either service or sales is extremely unlikely. read more

Sadly I had to have my car towed to BMW North Scottsdale. I don't look forward to working with the dealerships just because they tend to be a little more difficult and expensive. Not with this place! I wasn't there when my car was dropped off but I did receive a text letting me know it was received. I went to the dealership later that day to pick up a loaner vehicle and was in and out in under 10 minutes. After inspecting my car, Scott K sent me a very detailed video and checklist going over items that should be taken care of immediately, items that should be taken care of soon and items that were good. Scott also sent me that same list with cost estimates. The majority of communication between the dealership and I was done via text message which I greatly appreciate! My car was ready within the promised time frame and actually below what I was originally quoted. I pulled up for a carwash and to browse this dealership since I've never been to this location. This entire section of autos changed up a little and have added new dealerships. One of the many awesome perks about bmw dealerships are the free car washes!! I have a membership for carwashes elsewhere, but since I was in the area, I stopped to get one and to browse the latest vehicles. Upon my browsing indoors, at the new model vehicles that came out, the lovely Belynda was the first one to greet me and offer assistance. If you know me, you know that I'm a sucker for cars and known to go in and come out with a brand new one from the show room floors or to order them before the first model comes out... thankfully this time, I immediately told her, no need for help. Lol I only wanted to browse!!! Then comes, awesome Donnell Wilson words eyes got big, knowing that coming across me, was probably like coming across a good credit gold mine and he was getting me ready to drive out of the show room again . No sir/Ma'am, I am not ready to change or move up in vehicles just yet. I stayed strong for once and told Donell that he's my new sales guy if I am ready for a vehicle in the future . Terrible terrible service. A short appointment became five hours for an oil change. Poor to zero communication.

The client advisor, Terrance R, that I was partnered with when inquiring about a BMW X3 M online leaves something to be desired. After discussing about price and trade in, I decided to put a deposit (10/9) to hold the vehicle.until I could drive in from Las Vegas. Terrance assured me that with the deposit the vehicle would be marked as sold. After making the deposit the car was still listed online and looked as though it was available. I was scheduled to drive to Scottsdale to take delivery of the vehicle.on Saturday morning (10/11). I received a call on Friday night (10/10) that the vehicle wasnt going to be available for delivery after having made hotel reservations and other accomodations. There was no apology for the last minute notice or any idea when the vehicle would be done. After the weekend, I received an update on Thursday (10/16) that the vehicle was ready. With the delay and looking into maintenance concerns, I decided against purchasing the vehicle and informed Terrance about my decision. As with any deposit, I had expected to have the deposit refund processed with a day or 2. I've reached out to Terrance and Finance Department on multiple occassions since to have the deposit refunded. The vehicle had been sold the weekend of 10/18. I contacted a Sales Manager, Gary, on 10/28 and he told me that he would have Terrance process it right away. Shortly thereafter, I received a snarky text message from Terrance. "When a person put a deposit on the car, we don't usually refund it until after the car is sold. The car has been sold though so we will process it immediately." Completely unnecessary and shortsided in customer engagement, as Ive had over 10 BMW's through the years and love the brand. We are now sitting at 10/29, almost 2 weeks from the day that I decided against the purchase and no refund of my deposit yet. I fear for the reputation and credibitly of BMW of North Scottsdale if Terrance is their example of a brand ambassador/client advisor. I would be hard pressed to purchase from or recommend this dealership to any of my clients, friends, or colleagues that live in the Scottsdale/Phoenix Area given the lack of customer service and engagement. I never thought I would write a review for a dealership, but it really was a wonderful experience. I was connected to Terrance Ransom in sales, and he was just the salesperson that was able to help me find the car I was looking for. We are based in California, and were open to traveling to go purchase the vehicle. My wife and I had been searching for a used 2022-2024 GMC Yukon, and we found BMW Scottsdale just had one traded in, via an online search. I have run a successful Scottsdale business for more than 12 years. In the spring of 2025, I bought my wife a brand new 2025 BMW X3 xDrive30i. It seemed like a nice car. Really liked the salesperson. We own a second home in Flagstaff, resulting in 6 or 7 round trips to Flagstaff and back from Scottsdale. After returning down the hill on 1-17--as anyone knows there are major curves at high speeds--my wife went to EOS gym on Tatum the next morning, as usual at 4am. When she returned to the car, the steering wheel would not turn. No matter what she did. Had to call a tow truck. The tow truck had to get a special truck to lift the car out of the parking space because the wheel would not turn. We have now been without the car of nearly two months. But that's not the problem. They were sneaky. They did not disclose that the BMW X3 has had recalls for--you guessed it--defective STEERING GEAR. See on Google "The 2025 BMW X3 has been recalled due to a potential issue with the steering gear, where the connection between the starter-generator and battery may come loose, risking loss of control." 2025 BMW X3 Steering Gear Recall Overview Recall Details Affected Models: 2025 BMW X3 xDrive30i Issue: A potential defect in the steering gear may lead to loss of steering control. Even though they knew it was true, they did not disclose the fact. The either knew, could have known, or should have known, but the sale was more important. We are reasonable people, but we have completely lost confidence in driving the car--an accident could happen at any time and it could be fatal. We are shaken by the fact that we were driving down the road--both I-17 and in town here--not knowing the steering wheel could have gone out at any time. Researching the defective part, there is no way to know if the after market replacement part will be any more effective than the last one--which was defective. We are reasonable people, but there is no way we would have bought this car had we known about the recall, and there is no way that any professional, ethical dealership would not have (A) first let us know about the defect of such an integral component--giving us a chance to decide before buying--and then (B) contact us immediately to inform us of the delivery stop order. I had a blowout on my 2025 BMW and after replacing the tire from discount tire I needed my pressure sensor reset. I made an appointment at BMW North Scottsdale. They said it would be an hour service charge and wanted me to pay for a diagnostic of nearly $300 just to reset my tire sensor. I purchased a $75,000 vehicle with a perfect exterior. But before the car was put on the transport to deliver the car to the east coast, the driver's mirror was damaged. I had to take my time and get estimates to repair the mirror. Gave everything to the dealership. They have promised on more than one occassion to get me a check ASAP so I can have the mirror repaired which will take even more of my time. No check has arrived. Had a 10:00 appointment for brake fluid change that I scheduled the day before and scheduled a courtesy loaner car(even though they still charge you $35 for it), since I live 45 minutes from the dealership and had an 11:30 appointment in Mesa. The gal sent me a text with all documentation I needed to bring. I showed up today 10 minutes early and the Advisor, Patrick, finally comes out and tells me, "Sorry, we don't have any loaners available and there are 4 people on the list waiting." I asked him if they were able to do the brake fluid service in an hour since I had just driven 45 minutes for this scheduled appointment and he said No. Absolute horrible customer service and so disappointed we purchased our car from them.
