An absolute gem of a store, they have everything and anything of reasonable price for restaurants, catering, or cooking at home, in addition to cooking supplies and ingredients in bulk. This store has everything from bulk canned corn to tubs of Ken's salad dressing to plates to saucepots that could double as bathtubs. I picked up a stainless steel baking sheet, a strainer, a set of tongs, and two plates for $20. I could've easily spent another $50 on pizza trays, twenty pounds of tuna and bathroom signs. You can get anything from a 21 cup muffin tin pan (check) to 100 bamboo skewers for $1 (check) to a gallon of lemon juice (check), pastry/cake boxes of all sizes (check), tiny meatloaf tins (check), any utensil you could imagine (check). Things I have purchased here: - a perfectly sized ice cream scoop (twice, actually. don't put it in the dishwasher. lesson learned) - little square cocktail plastic cup thingies to scoop ice cream into - little plastic spoons to eat aforementioned ice cream - plastic containers of varying sizes to which I will then put pestos and tomato sauce in and put in my chest freezer - candles like you see in cheesy Italian restaurants - giant bottles of vinegar - dozens of plain white square plates - dozens of plain white oval plates (multi course dinner party means lots of plates for lots of people) - new year's eve party shit - pot scrubber - Cheerios - little white boxes - various other random stuff Things I have not purchased here, but could maybe come in handy at some point: - giant cans of food - giant container of reeses peanut butter - like, the dessert kind - giant fucking pots - all the cleaning supplies - so many plastic utensils/plates - bar supplies - balloons - non-plastic utensils, including things like giant ladles and spatulas And all of it? Seriously cheap. Like, "are you sure you rang everything up" kinda cheap. It's a wonderland of awesome, cheap stuff. Okay... this is a restaurant supply store... A RESTAURANT SUPPLY STORE... not Ikea or a consumer kitchen supply store. For anyone looking for normal sized pans... maybe you would be better off at Williams-Sonoma... but if you are looking for a giant container of ketchup or 30 slotted spoons... this is your place. I got a set of 16 tiny espresso cups for $24... can't beat that with a stick! I also go here to stock up on bar ware like the kind they use at real bars... the plain metal tins that I keep leaving at parties when I am the default bartender in attendance. Stuff like that abounds. They do often sell out of the super popular stuff, but you are competing with local restaurants, sorry... but they might need 2 giant boxes of pre sized aluminum foil more than you do... so I don't get mad if they happen to be out, they will have it back in stock within days. I just got back from an emergency run for paper bags, and the experience was terrific! When I couldn't find quite what I wanted, I asked for help. Everyone there is really helpful and knowledgeable; even though I wasn't spending much, they guy helping me gave me his time and attention, and rustled up a pack of the perfect bags from "out back." It seems like they're used to dealing with people who don't own restaurants or anything, so they're pretty patient. I have a lifetime supply of paper bags now, but I'll probably be back; all of the plastic stemware and baking supplies had me planning my next party! read more

Love this place for those interested in a small catering operation to a pizza/sub shop! I've purchased bar supplies, catering supplies and fun decorations for summer holidays all for decent prices. I live in Boston not too far from JP and loooove it. So for those claiming it's ghetto please tell your 'suburban' friends how ghetto it is so they will stop trying to move here (will keep BMS' checkout running smoothly) . Psyched that my neighborhood party supply store has balloons and a helium tank. Not psyched that the two times I've bought a dozen latex balloons from them they have deflated and sunk to the ground in less than 24 hours. Old balloons, bad helium? Recently, I went to buy some pie shells at BMS. They sell 5 for $7.99, which is pretty good, I think. I made a cherry pie with one of them and it turned out great! For a pre-made crust, it's quite tasty. I also picked up a deep dish apple pie (Chef Pierre brand) for ten bucks. It was pretty good and more convenient than slicing my own apples but honestly, my pie fillings taste better. So, check out the pie shells! The customer service was the worst I've ever experienced and they didn't even offer to give me a store credit. The employees were rude, argumentative and confrontational. I can't begin to say how happy I was when I discovered this place just a short drive from home and work. They are a standard professional restaurant supply house with institutional sized packages of various foods and a large selection of large restaurant type pots and pans. They also carry a selection of party supplies but if you are looking for a very extensive selection of those type of items you might be better off going to a place like iParty, that said if you just need 20 plastic table covers, they'd have that no problem. Their prices seem quite competitive and the staff is courteous. I plan to buy several large high sided frying pans there this week to add to my catering supplies. read more

This store is wonderful! If you are a class mother or a church person who does big parties and other events you will think you died and went to heaven. Large selection of colored plastic tablecloths, paper plates, napkins, etc that are way cheaper than I Party. Disposable baking and roasting pans, foods in bulk (like spaghetti sauce by the gallon and huge sacks of frozen ready made meatballs), every kind of big pot and pan you might want for a church kitchen, inexpensive heavy duty dishes etc. I am so glad they are there! read more

My husband and I catered our own budget wedding (. . . . yeah) and this place was a fantastic resource. We bought serving utensils for food and drink, pans that kept the food hot, cake stands for our cupcakes, and probably more things that I'm forgetting. I have always had great experiences here. I have found a lot of baking supplies in bulk amounts here and the prices were good, although most items cost less at Restaurant Depot. They also have a good selection of pots, pans, and food preparation equipment of all types in the back. I've been able to find items here that I couldn't find anywhere else, such as 3/4 sheet pans. I like supporting local businesses. And i've shopped here on and off for 15+ years. But I have to say, their customer service is non-existent. I am used to there being no one on the floor to help guide you or answer questions, which is frustrating in and of itself and means that I often spend more time than I should have to trying to find what I need. But this past week was truly kafka-esque with their inability to provide one of their basic services for purchased and paid for product. If you purchase take-out containers they come in "sleeves" (contains about 25 pieces per bag) or "by the case" very affordable price. Organized place. My fiancé recently bought four baking pans at BMS that turned out to be too large for the flan I was going to make. This was right before the Thanksgiving holiday. After the holiday, Saturday I went to exchange the un-used items for a smaller size. When I arrived and spoke to the lady at the desk who was very unwelcoming she stated they do not return or exchange equipment. I stated they weren't used and the store policies on the left and right of me don't state you can't return equipment. She directed me to the sign behind me that was very large and also didn't state equipment cannot be returned. The owner was standing there listening to the whole conversation who walked away instead of stepping in and offering customer service. When I asked why he walked away from me he came back, stood at the door by his office and meanly stated he will not take it back and walked away. This place has absolutely no customer service and no where in their return policy did it state they don't return or exchange equipment. The rude lady at the desk pointed at a very small print on the very large sign that stated equipment can't be returned, however every other sign in the store stated returns for items purchased with cash would be fully refunded within 24hrs and all other returns within 14days would be issued a store credit. I would not recommend this place regardless of their cheap prices. They offer no customer service starting with management, they were very unprofessional and their store policy isn't clearly stated nor in clear view in order to not deceive the customer. Horrible experience I will make sure everyone I know is aware of this and stays away from this place. read more
