I was in need of a trusty mechanic to service my BMW regularly, until I was referred to this place by my uncle. I believe "BML" stands for BMW, Mercedes, and Lexus. This shop is a family-owned and operated place - you'll see Dad and son working together quickly and efficiently. They give you an accurate time frame and give you great pricing. I got my tires checked, oil changed, and parking light swapped out for a great price. Will come back soon! read more

My husband and I have been coming here for over 10 years and it is always such a great experience. We have had many cars ranging from BMW to Porsche and now Land Rover. They always have time for me and always offer options. Even now that we have warranties with our cars, I still come here for anything and everything. They are worth every penny. read more

I brought my car in for a quick simple check they ended up keeping my car for three months and I had to eventually tow it to Stevens Creek BMW where my 100k$ car was told engine had blown and I had to let it go. They're good for simple things like oil change but for anything else I don't recommend. read more

I have a 2004 BMW and brought it in to switch the starter Pros They took my car the same day I called and fixed it the same day He knew exactly what was wrong within 10 mins of starting my car He let me pick it up the next morning Cons He said the place opened at 8:30 and I could pick it up then but I had to wait 30 minutes sitting on the concrete outside before anyone came to open the door One of the employees was sitting outside in his car the entire time and saw me looking in the door sitting in front and never acknowledged me. He had keys to the office the entire time The man who took my money and gave me my keys but didn't know how much the replacement starter cost and how much time they spent on the car or how much they charge per hour Usually the estimate is more than the actual cost because the mechanics give themselves extra time in case something goes wrong. However I ended up paying the estimate with no breakdown and I feel like I got ripped off. They couldn't even do a cash discount (which most places I've gone to do) because the manager wasn't there. It started out good but now I'm just pissed. I waited until 9:15 and the manager still never showed up. No else could help me with anything and I had to leave to get to work. read more

I have a 2003 Jetta VW and it was due for a timing belt and water pump change and a few other minor fixes. I brought my car to Stevens Creek Volkswagen to get an assessment and estimates and was blown away by how much they were quoting me to fix the timing belt, water pump and other issues. I asked them not to fix anything and I picked up my car the same day and was charged close to $300 for just the assessment alone, they didn't even fix anything!!! I found BML Auto Repair through Yelp and since they were close to my house and got five 5 star reviews, I took the chance and called them for an estimate. I spoke to Minh and he quoted me an estimate about 60% less than the dealership. I dropped my car off a few days later and spoke to his dad, Thuy. I mentioned what I wanted to repair, mentioned that I might need an oil change, etc. My dad usually does my oil change for me and Thuy mentioned that he'll check the oil level first and will only change it if it's necessary. He did the oil change for me using synthetic oil and said that it would be good for 10k before the oil change again. I was also happy that the price Minh quoted me on the phone was what they charged me and didn't include in additional costs, etc since it was really an estimate and they could've ended up charging me extra for parts or labor. Overall, I was happy and satisfied with the service and will definitely come back the next time I run into issues with my car, I'm definitely not going to back to the dealership!! Thanks BML!! read more

I took my turbo beetle here for a minor tune up. My first time taking it to a non-dealer. I pulled up and it was all Mercedes and BMW's. Mine was the only VW but I figured if they can work on those cars they can work on my little baby. The owner seemed really knowledgable, we actually thought it was time for a major tune up but we told him the mileage and he said it should be a minor, so he'll do an oil change and check everything. He told us that he will be using synthenic oil so my oil changes will be every 10k instead of every 5k, which was what I was doing with the dealer mechanic. We got an appointment within 1 day and they are opened on Saturdays. We brought it on Saturday morning and at 2pm my car was done. When we picked up my car and he mentioned that there was a little leak in my coolant but just to keep an eye out and refill it when it gets low and he'll repair it the next time we bring my car in for the major tune up. He also mentioned in the meantime don't drive the car far distances, which is not a problem for me since I don't drive it often anyways. I was impressed with his honesty and he didn't seem like he was out to get my money, which is how I feel about all mechanics. My beetle is running perfectly and I will continue to take my car here from now on. read more

I've been taking my car here the last few years for all my car's minor and major needs. Ranging from a basic oil change, brakes, timing belt and to diagnose those random clunking noises. Customer service here is great, Minh is extremely nice and takes the time to explain everything to you. Coming from a girl who doesn't know much about cars, I leave feeling well informed about what's wrong and what was needed to be done. They also give you good tips on how to better maintain your car which I know that lots of other shops don't do. Every time I bring my car in, they'll go above and beyond my expectations; always making sure i have adequate air in my tires, making sure my oil level is good even though I'm bringing my car in for other reasons. Turn around time and prices are reasonable. They tend to get busy but they try to get your car back to you as quickly as they can. A lot of people may think that they only specialize in BMWs, Mercedes or Lexus's but they actually work on all types of car makes and models. Thank you BML for always taking good care of my beloved Suby. A better selection of magazines for the female crowd in the waiting room would be nice! read more

Horrible service, I took my BMWs here to get serviced for 3+ years. They were quick and cheap for oil changes and what not for my 3 series. When I had major issues with my X5M they completely took apart my car and broke it. When I brought it in it was running with a bad fuel injector problem (though i didn't know at the time). There was black smoke coming out of exhaust. They kept my car for 7-8 MONTHS! I would come back to check but every time I came back there was a different reason why it wasn't done yet. I tried to be patient but after waiting with no car for almost a year I ended up going back and having to tow my car and pieces of it in the trunk (they disassembled it and couldn't put it back) to BMW dealership where they said the key would not turn over anymore thus they would have to replace the entire engine now costing $45K dollars. Before leaving I had a huge argument with the owner because I was tired of these excuses. He tried to have an insurance fraud by claiming the car was water damaged so he would be able to replace the engine and when I refused he pointed the fingers at my bf who wasn't with me. When my BF showed up he looked stupid ass hell for lying about it. He took the receipt he originally made me tore it up wrote up a new receipt with different things he did "to fix it -- including fuel injector" refunded me my money. I'm still upset because I'm now down on a $100K car that's no longer running thanks to BML. Crooks.. If there is anything other than minor service for your car I would not bring it in to BML, they are unprofessional and incompetent. read more

Thuy is very nice probably because he's friends with my dad, but he might be a nice person in general. For my 2006 camry, it took 4hrs to get 3 things done. Roters, axl, and brakes and battery totaled $800. Aiyaa!! (It's ok, my dad paid!) The good thing is, it's a big garage so about maybe 4 or so cars can be worked on making things go faster. Tiny Waiting room with 4 chairs and a payment desk. If you're waiting, I think there's food a couple feet away. $800 sounds ok considering I needed 2 of everything plus a battery. read more

If you don't have warranty for your luxury car and something goes wrong with it, then this is the place to go to. They'll fix your car in a timely matter. They'll give you a fair and decent rate and not try to overcharge you. However, chances are if you drive a luxury car you will get charged more for repairs than say a Honda. They're nice and courteous to their customers and explain what's wrong with it and what needs to be done with it. Overall great experience! read more

Finally I found a mechanic I can trust. Took my car to BMW and they wanted almost $11,000 to fix my coolant pipe which is located under the engine. These guys did it for $4000 and did a great job. Anytime I need anything they accommodate me and their prices are incredibly reasonable. I now take all my BMWs there and I know they'll do it right and not rip me off like BMW of Stevens creek does. In fact I think BMW of Stevens creek messes with my car because every time I've taken it to them it always ends up needing something else about a week later. Minh, the son, is one of the nicest people you'll ever meet. Honest and hard-working. read more

I've been taking my car here at least 5 years. They are working actually on all types of car makes and models. Prices are reasonable. If you go to buy a used car take Thuy with you, he will save money for you. I highly recommend these guys. read more

These guys are very friendly and prices are cheapest in the South Bay. BUT, on two occasions, I took my Mercedes in for service, I got it back once with a cracked wiper fluid reservoir, and the other time my window button was broken. Customer service, great. The other quiet mechanics, sloppy. Make sure u check the work once you get your car back... read more

Thuy is very knowledgable and honest. He fixed my brakes for a very decent price. His prices are very reasonable. I will definitely be returning to BML for my car's needs. read more

BML Auto offers exceptional customer service at extremely reasonable rates. I have been going to them for over 2 years now and have been very happy with the service Minh and Thuy provide. I took my car to BML due to a leak inside my car on the passenger side. Minh and Thuy were quick to find the issue. Leak was due to a clogged A/C hose that caused excess water to be backed up into the car. They fixed it in no time and had me on my way. Great service. read more

The engine light on my car was on and the engine running rough. After diagnosed carefully, they replaced just one exact bad part and reset the car. Engine is now smooth and running great. I had other places tried to charge me 1000% (one thousand percent) more what I paid today to do the same thing. read more

Won't take my car anywhere else. Super trustworthy and I always feel taken care of. So thankful for Minh & Thuy.

I travel 80 miles to go here when my cars need something other than the basics. The Dad is like the mechanic version of the soup Nazi. The son is super nice, however. Recommend 100%. read more

I just threw out $90 for diagnosis that was not really done but a guess from my prior diagnosis from different shop that I gave him. He explained well regarding possible issues related to my codes, unfortunately, keeping my car for 2 days and still telling me same stuff since i brought my car to you doesn't convince me that you really diagnosed the problem. I have great guys charging me less than you quoted but with great follow ups with me. I don't have to call and ask. They call and update me. Sorry but you did not deliver to convince me to send my BMW to your garage. Thanks for your efforts in explaining though.. 2 stars for that. read more

Always friendly, helpful, reasonably priced and fast. They keep working to fix the problem and make sure it's done properly. Been here a few times now and very consistent. read more

I have a 98 MB E320 and these guys always treat me well. Whenever I need an oil change or a fix to an issue, these guys will get it done. Due to going here for so long for my E320, my car rarely has any problem. Going on 220k mileage. read more

Very honest people work there, from father to son. I brought my 2004 bmw to other place, they told me all kind of problems (just that I am a woman, know nothing about car, they could make up problems that were never there) I brought it to Minh, BML, he said just one small problem and after paid only less than $200, my beat up bmw still running like a champ after 3 years. I paid attention so many times, very honest men there. I am happy every time I got my car or sister car or my son car back from them. Thanks God I found them. I would never go anywhere else but BML Auto Repair in SJ. Strongly Recommended. read more

My family has been using bml for years. When I visited today for brakes I was reminded of how kind and honest the owners are. I have always had five star service for my car repair needs. Thuy is great! He took me on short notice when my regular mechanic couldn't and looked at my car, checked it for problems since the engine light had gone on, but could find nothing wrong and told me to come back if the engine light went on again. Responsive and helpful and no assessment charges! I will definitely come back if I have another car problem and recommend him to my friends and family. read more

I have been taking my BMW to Mr. Nyguen for almost 15 plus years as I read the reviews that others have wrote about BML Auto Repair. I agreed with them all except the one person that says he had bad experience. But no auto repair shop doesn't have at least one dissatisfied custom. I not bragging I am sos satisfied with BML.that my wife and I bring a token of our appreciate on Thanksgiving and Christmas. You cannot bet the employee dedication or Minh and his father honesty. This is the worst shop ive ever been to. I took my car in 6/20 to get diagnostic.. 2 days later i had to call and ask if they found the problem yet so the owners son says my ignition switch is bad and need a new one. I said ok let go ahead and oder the part, he quoted me $1,070 for labor and work. One month passes by and he called me to say that he couldnt do the job (no explination what so ever) so i picked up my car 7/18 mad as hell took it to mercedes benz dealer. Got diagnostic done there again and they said it was my fuse box gone bad!!! When BML said it was my ignition switch. Mercedes benz dealers did the job for $750 parts and labor!!! Way cheaper!!! So fuck BML for waiting my time!!! read more

I have a Volkswagen beetle and I was coming here for a very long time because to me this guy was awesome he would leave me good deals and everytime I came here there was always something wrong with my car that he said just come back next time I'll do it your a customer. So it became suspicious that everything I took my car I had to bring it in 2 months later one time the bottom of my frame was falling off and they wanted to charge me a lot they said they have to do it they weren't letting me take my car. I told my parents they were the best but how could my car have so much issues in less than 6 months it wasn't until I had enough of those people messing with my car so I could come back that I took my car to another mechanic bc there I needed to get a new gas thing. They wanted to charge me 600 buy the other guy charged me 300 ever since I got that changed by a new mechanic I've never had one single problem with my car and it's been more than 6 months. When I.descretely confronted the little Asian guy about my car always having issues that it never did before he got extremely defensive and started yelling I wouldn't do that your car is just in horrible shape!!! Which is not it a2002 beetle and haven't had an issue since I stopped taking it with him. An innocent person wouldn't have reacted the way he did. read more

I bought a performance exhaust manifold for my BMW and took it here to have it installed. The mechanic who did the installation had to take off my whole exhaust system from the catback to the midpipes to get the exhaust manifold off since there's little clearance on my car. I am very pleased with the service so I will be coming back in the near future and referring this shop to friends and family. read more

We were driving through San Jose on vacation when our BMW had an issue. We called BML the next morning and they were able to look at the car and fix it. As soon as we arrived they started working on the car and were able to get us out within an hour. Thuy did a terrific job, checked everything to make sure we'd not run into another issue on the drive back to SoCal, and charged us what we expected and what our normal BMW mechanic told us was a fair amount. Great job, thanks so much guys. It's great to find a quality repair shop that's incredibly honest when they could easily have taken advantage of us. read more

Ladies every where this place should be your go to Mechanic! Going to the mechanic as a lady and with out a " car man" with you can be a nightmare at Auto shops But love both Mr. Thieu and his son also right hand man Minh. They are both so honest, polite and ethical !!!! My mom , my sister and I all take our Benz n moms BMW to BML the past 4 years and no where else. They have really decent prices for all their professional services at a mom and pop price. When ever I have a car problem or have a random car questions ( which can be many) I just call BML and Minh or Mr Thieu will answer my questions or help me quickly even when I'm not getting any services done. They are your all around unbelievably caring , professional, and reasonably price mechanics in all of San Jose. I have never felt oversold, or uniformed when I go here. I know when I come to BML my car and I will be superbly taken cared of meaning: Mr Thieu and Minh along with their staff will always have my best interest at hand, they walk me through every service that my car will receive and the costs associated with it. I just can't say enough great things about BML . If you are tired of your whack, grumpy mechanic who talks over you, and just wants you to pay pay. Then run the other way and call BML asap !!!! read more

I have been taking all my cars to them and they are better than the dealer except a lot cheaper. Yesterday I had my brakes done and they did a fantastic job. Last month I went to Stevens Creek BMW to order an extra key and the guy in front of me was buying a new BMW emblem for the car he just bought from them and it flew off on the freeway. The parts clerk was telling him how to install it and charge him $57. Yesterday at BML my friend was making fun of me saying that my emblem and faded lights made my car look old and Minh heard that. He immediately replaced my emblem and polished my lights. Car looks great, and my friend was speechless. When I asked him how much for the new emblem he said no charge since I'm a loyal customer. Couldn't help thinking about the guy at the dealer who paid $57 for the emblem and was told how to install it. At BML I was taken care of like a baller. Thx Minh. read more
