For starters, I've been a patient of the practice for at least 20 years. I've probably been to 95% of the total providers in the practice. While a lot has changed over the last 20 years, I can honestly say that I can't think of another group that provides the total care model as does BMG - Family Physicians. I've never had difficulty with getting an appointment with a provider in the group. The locations are now more convenient than ever. The skinny - the front desk staff (regardless of location) has always been polite and efficient (shout out to Vernita at Bartlett). The medical triage team has always been calming and easy to talk to. In my experience, the providers are focused on truly listening to you and not just hearing you. Over the years, I've had some excellent providers and the current is no exception. Shout out to former providers: Barry Avant, Claire Ellender! Though they have each moved on, they left a legacy of excellent patient care. The current goat is Jason Stewart - it's like talking to an old friend. The entire team is amazing - Dr. Wong to Dr. J. Smith and Drs. Charles and Melanie Woodall - you can't go wrong with finding a provider to suit your needs. read more

If I could put no stars as a rating, I absolutely would. This is probably the worst care facility that I've ever been a part of. My mychart messages were left unanswered for three weeks. And it took for me to go all the way up to the facility to question why my messages weren't being answered for them to simply say " sorry your doctor is only at this facility once a month". Why even assign a nurse practitioner as a PCP if she's not at the facility more than once a month? I was writing the facility to complain about chest pain that had been going on for a couple of months. I wanted to know what the next steps were in my treatment plan and nobody answered. They don't have a direct phone number to the facility and they encourage everybody to contact their physicians through mychart. They are also extremely unorganized at the front desk. ZERO OUT OF TEN! I had an appointment today at 9:15am and arrived at 9:00am. I walked in and signed in to see my primary care physician. However, there was no one at the counter to acknowledge me when I signed in. I went and took a seat and there were like two others in the lobby with me at the time but they eventually got called the back. I even got up and moved in to their view so they could see that I had been sitting in the lobby with no acknowledgement. They began talking about a baby in the NICU and disregarded me. Another patient walks in and walks up and they speaks to her and asks who she is her to see and tell her to sign her name on the list. The clerk present her with a form to sign for her service for today and tells her they will call her back soon so the patient takes her seat. It is 9:30am, I get up and go there and ask how much longer would it be before I would be seen? The clerk at the desk finally asked what my name was and did I sign in? I replied yes and gave her my name and told her I arrived at 09:00am and who I was there to see. She then gave me a form to sign for my service and finally checked me in. She went to the back to inform the nursing staff and came back the front to tell me that it would be a few more minutes. But if I had not said anything how long would the clerks have sat and talked to each other about a baby in the NICU before they acknowledged I was sitting in the lobby by myself for over 20 mins? read more

I just left this clinic feeling disappointed with the care I received from one of their doctors. I came here because of some MRI results, and I requested a surgical consult to discuss my results. First, my appointment was at 8:15. I was not seen until after 9:00. The medical student was pleasant and thorough. Once the actual doctor came in, all he did was tell me that there is no such thing as hereditary or genetic pancreatic disease. I was mad to feel as if I was an idiot and had no clue about my family history. First of all, I am not an idiot, and I have also done much research about this issue. Why would this doctor not only discount my family but also be unhelpful to his medical student by telling me wrong information? My father and two aunts died from Pancreatic cancer, and he immediately tells me that there can be no correlation. I am not a physician but an educated person who knows how to research. If you look at all the literature on this matter, most agree that this affects small pockets of the population. I did not appreciate his rudeness, and honestly, I don't think he gave a damn. I will never return to this clinic to see this doctor ever again. If anyone reads this review, please take 3 minutes to look up genetics and inherited pancreatic issues such as pancreatitis and pancreatic cancer. When you do, ask yourself, would I be telling any patient that there are no familial risks of pancreatic cancer or pancreatitis to any patient? read more

Every time I have an appointment I have to WAIT! Let me rewind and add that getting an appointment is like pulling teeth. You'll have to wait almost a month out to get in. When you do get an appointment, prepare to cancel plans because you can't even guess when you will leave. read more

Was seen for double ear infections Thursday at 1045am. Dr. Bateman prescribed an antibiotic but never called it in. I called at 330pm and was told he had until the end of the day. Called again at 830am Friday morning and was told he would receive the message. No antibiotic through the weekend. read more

Always treated with respect and the care team of nurses and doctors do a wonderful job. I've been visiting this facility for over 20 years and while they are sometimes busy, I feel that they prioritize my healthcare over other considerations. This is very important to me. Too many people think that they are the only sick person in the building and should get immediate treatment. read more

I get that everyone is understaffed, but I have been calling for a little over a WEEK to try and get a prescription refilled and a lab only appointment. Have yet to get a response or any assistance after multiple voicemails and MyChart reach outs. Just very disappointing from a health provider. read more

No one will call you back when you leave a message. My husband had a semi-stroke at the beginning of OCT and was referred to a neuro doc 11/23! He has since had another episode and went to the ER. I have called and emailed several times trying to get in earlier to see the specialist or to see if another doc could be called- but I can't even get a return phone call. read more

This place gets 0 stars the one star goes to Heather Polmonari, NP. My bf and I scheduled physicals on the same day in January. Mine went great with Heather as usual. His on the other was a joke. When we got in the car he said that didn't even feel like a physical the doctor didn't do anything. He even said the dr told him his blood pressure was not that high. Skip to March BMG starts calling sayin we owe almost $200. Note his physical was covered 100% by insurance. He asked them what's going on. After looking into his file he was charged a visit for his bp not a physical. The doctor said he told him he hadn't taken bp medicine in a year which is a lie. Jose Gabriel Ongsingco, MD took it on him to not give a physical, but never communicated this. Nor does anywhere in his paperwork say should return for physical, because it wasn't able to be done that day. My bf just thought he got a crappy physical all along he was getting scammed for $200. I arrived for my 10:30 appt @ 10:15. I was called finally called back at 10:58 (28 minutes later than my appt. time) I was ushered into an exam room by 11:02 and told it "would be a wait as 3 patients were before me" for which I appreciated the heads up. Now, an hour after arriving, I STILL haven't seen the physician. All this to say, I understand the occasional wait as it happens sometimes. However, the last time I was here, the front desk personnel gave me heck for being 10 min late (which by the way was the 1st and ONLY time I have ever been late to an appt. here)! I can not begin to tell you how many times I have had to wait (just like today) WAAAY more than 10, 15, or even 30 minutes or more past my appt time to be seen or even called back to be seen! I am willing to be patient about an occasional wait but much less so if the grace extended isn't reciprocal! By the way, this has NOTHING to do with the MDs, nurse practitioners, or nursing staff that has ever taken care of me. They have ALWAYS been professional and gracious. But the office staff...not so much. read more

It's a physician group. The waiting room is pretty standard, no frills. The wait was absurd in my first visit -- after more than an hour sitting in a patient room without so much as a knock on the door, I went into the hallway and told the doctor I'd have to reschedule. After that, I was taken care of expeditiously, but it was a 2+ hour doctor visit. It is nice that they have lab capabilities on-site and easy parking. I might go back, but I also might not. read more

I went to their Collierville office for over 2 years. If you question anything, they treat you like your an idiot and if you do it enough, they will tell you to find another Dr. They changed my prescription from a $4 generic to one that cost over $165. I've been seeing my doctor at Family Physicians Group for over 20 years. He always spends time with me to address any concerns about my health, and is very proactive at monitoring for any changes that may be a early symptom of something bad that could affect me. Many of the MDs have been there almost 30 years, and there are several new MDs with fresh perspectives on your healthcare. They have 5 offices around Memphis, so I can get an appointment at any of them easily. Building a trusting relationship with your Doctor is important to your long term healthcare. Many of the doctors are very popular, so it sometimes involves a longer wait time in the waiting room, but I always think that they are treating other patients with the same level of concern that they show for me, so I don't mind the extra wait. It's not an express lane drive thru, it's thorough family medicine with competent professionals read more
