I am a bona fide TREE FANATIC and I trust Manuel and his crew at BMC Landscape and Tree Specialists and have used them for YEARS!! I live in a neighborhood of Long Beach that is known for its historic homes and trees, so most of these beautiful trees in my neighborhood are 50-90 years old. Manuel and his men know the inherent shape of each type of tree and exactly how and when to trim them so their natural shape and beauty is not ravaged and ruined like so many of self-proclaimed tree trimmers are wont to do :(!! I made the HORRIBLE mistake of using someone else before I found Manuel of BMC Landscape and Tree, and this "arborist" hacked my gorgeous blossoming pear tree in my front yard so aggressively to the point where it nearly ruined the gorgeous natural shape and balance of my beautiful, irreplaceable, now 80-year-old tree. I have included a photo of this tree now, after Manuel and his men have cared for it for the past 13 years.
His prices are reasonable and in fact, he cares so much about the life of each individual tree MORE than his profit, that he will actually turn away immediate business to inform you that this or that tree should not be trimmed just yet, as he just did for me. I have three other trees that I want to trim - a large apricot tree, a nectarine tree, and a blossoming plum tree - and he told me that if I trim them now, in January or February, that it will not be beneficial and could be harmful to the trees because it is still too cold at night for the areas that would be freshly cut and they could go into shock and those parts, or even the whole tree, could die. He said they would fare better if he could trim them in April or May. This is an honest man!!
Manuel knows how to trim my trees so they are still gorgeous immediately after he trims them; he cares more for the life and longevity and beauty of the tree than some of these hackers who just want to make it easy on themselves by hacking away at the large primary branches so they don't have to do as much work, but then the poor trees look like denuded palm trees, regardless of their species, with just a long nude trunk with all the primary and secondary branches hacked off :(!! When the trees are young and growing, they naturally grow their primary, secondary, as tertiary branches for optimal balance and life support (and beauty!), but most of these careless and aggressive tree trimmers do not respect the natural shape and beauty of each tree but just either cut off all the trees branches right to the trunk or extremely close to it and then its true healthy shape is ruined forever. Manuel, on the other hand, respects the current and future shape and life of each tree and knows how to do what he calls a "perimeter cut and lacing" which retains the integrity of each primary, secondary, and tertiary branch for its balance and beauty.
Look at my gorgeous blossoming pear tree he maintains in my front yard and how healthy it is with all of its blossoms!! Call Manuel if you love your trees and want them maintained properly and carefully!! He is honest, knowledgeable, reliable, hardworking, and loves trees !!
*Note: His business and this review used to be under another name until someone else began a business using the same name, so he changed his business name to BMC Landscape and Tree Specialists. Make sure you are dealing with Manuel Cisneros... he is the one you want :)!! read more
