They were exceedingly polite, the work was exceptional and clean up impeccable. All three times I called the office the owner answered. How refreshing is that. Look no further. This company is a fraud. We agreed on terms shortly after the owner, Mike Makus, secretly closed…read morehis business and let his license and bond lapse. We had no idea he had done this, or we would never have allowed him to do the work. He held himself illegally out as still running a business, and then performed the work so poorly that we have to have it all redone. He literally sealed the fireplace making it unusable. We tried it out and choked our family on smoke for hours while we tried to figure out how to put the fire out without creating more smoke. The house and furniture smelled of smoke for weeks. When we gave him multiple months to repair his egregious mistake, which he promised he would with an every other week text message that said he would get it on the schedule, he finally confessed he had been lying the whole time and had no intention of coming out to fix the problem. There is nothing he could say that I would believe at this point, and he has left us with a multiple thousand dollar repair, which is more than the job cost. Do not be duped by him. This has been a nightmare, and he should be ashamed of taking advantage of people the way he has.

After the work was done, the first rain we had water pour in the house around the chimney. We did get Mike to send his guy out once. He added some sealant around the flashing, but when it rained again, we still had water enter our house around the chimney. I tried to reach Mike again many times and eventually discovered the business has been closed since before we contracted to have the work done. So disappointed. This is a very unethical business. I am on my own to get my chimney back to watertight as it was before he started.
