Such an amazing team lunch for 7 I had at BLVD Steak in Calabasas and that was thanks to the owner Paul and server Noah. They made our lunch very special. I loved my experience in Sherman oaks so I had to bring my team to the Calabasas restaurant. The food was divine. We shared shrimp cocktail. The crab gnocchi was too good. Just the perfect blend of gnocchi and crab mix. Shared the spinach dip which comes with chips - that was good. We had the pretzel bread which was nice and warm and pull apart. We shared the lime corn - very refreshing. The smashed broccoli was great. The wagyu meatball is all beef and very good. The sauce was great. We also ordered onion rings which were fresh and crispy. I ordered my steak frites with waffle fries and it was delicious. My steak was cooked perfectly. The waffle fries were very crispy. And then they were super kind as we were celebrating life. Took my wife here for her birthday and really glad we did. The vibe is nice right when you walk in. It feels upscale but still relaxed, not overly fancy where you feel out of place. Perfect for a date night or celebrating something. We started with the salmon crudo and shrimp cocktail. Both were really fresh, but the crudo was the standout. Super light, great flavor, didn't feel heavy at all. I got the steak and it was cooked exactly how I wanted. Good sear, juicy, just solid. We also had the fish and that ended up being a favorite too. Crispy on the outside, soft inside, and the sauce was really good with it. Service was great the whole time. They were paying attention without hovering, and everything came out at a good pace. Thought I would treat myself to a yummy Tuesday night dinner and finally got to check out the restaurant. Upon entering I was pleasantly greeted by the hostess and additionally one of the owners Paul that was there that night. My server's name was Colin and he was a Gem. He answered all my questions, gave some personal recommendations, and was very attentive throughout the evening. The restaurant has both indoor and outdoor patio seating, a bar area, in addition to a private room. What can I say the food speaks for itself as you can see in my photos. The portions were Hearty, and you do not go home hungry. There is a 3% California wage and benefits fee that is automatically added to your bill. Which I had no problem paying especially taking into consideration how welcoming and hospitable everyone was. I look forward to dining at this restaurant again hopefully soon. read more

Overall, BLVD Steak was a decent experience, but it didn't quite have the wow factor I was expecting. The tomahawk was above average and cooked well, but for a steakhouse at this level, the steak itself wasn't anything especially memorable. The Caesar salad, though, was easily one of the best I've ever had and was probably the highlight of the meal. The mac and cheese was pretty average and didn't stand out. The restaurant itself is small and cozy with a nice ambiance, and our server was really friendly and provided great service. My biggest issue was how long the tomahawk took to come out -- it was an extremely long wait. Overall, the meal was decent and there were definitely some highlights, especially the Caesar salad, but between the long wait and the steak not really blowing me away, I think 3 stars is fair. read more

What an amazing steakhouse! My wife and I become occasionally to Calabasas just to check out the scene and we found Boulevard steakhouse and we said let's try it and it was an amazing experience. We had Langoustine and they were divine, we had Seabass great presentation and flavors and we had a New York steak, which was cooked to perfection. The sides were wonderful and the dessert was heavenly. If you get a chance to ever go to Calabasas you gotta stop by Boulevard steakhouse. I still think Ruth's Chris has a more flavorful steak. The crispy chicken sandwich was also good. The bun was soft and fresh, and the chicken was cooked perfectly with a nice crispy exterior. My favorite part of the meal was the shoestring fries. My biggest issue was the price. For what you pay, I expected to be more impressed. The food was good, but I don't think it justified the cost, and I would probably stick with Ruth's Chris if I'm in the mood for a steak. The service was average. The ambiance is definitely the highlight... beautiful decor, an upscale atmosphere, and the kind of setting that feels perfect for a special night out. Unfortunately, the food didn't match the fine-dining vibe or the prices. I ordered an Old Fashioned, and while it was decent, the presentation felt underwhelming. At a steakhouse with premium pricing, I expected a more polished cocktail presentation, such as a large ice cube or sphere rather than a few standard ice cubes. For food, my husband ordered the burger, I had the sushi, and we shared the shoestring fries, artichoke dip, and pretzel bun. Nothing was terrible, but nothing really stood out either. The dishes felt average for the price point, and my husband's meal unfortunately didn't sit well with him afterward. Overall, BLVD gets high marks for atmosphere and service, but when you're paying fine-dining prices, the food and drinks need to deliver as well. They really elevated the experience which sometimes could be chaotic during happy hour. The martini is $18 on happy hour, not exactly a deal, but with the "side car" of almost another pour of the drink it is worth the price. The BLVD burger was pretty good but I would try something different next time. The fries were massive and filled us up quickly so we didn't order more items. I've been here for lunch and for DineLA - I'd compare BLVD Steak to STK (the one in Woodland Hills, not Vegas). It's a good steakhouse by Valley standards, in short, but offers much more than just meat which I like. The interior is new and appealing and green. The furniture is comfy and aesthetically pleasing. We preferred to sit indoors in one of their booths. Bar seating and patio seating are also available. My picks: Salmon Dry Miso, Steak Tartare, Crispy Broccolini, and Shoestring Fries. I was less keen on the BLVD Burger and Strawberry Kale Salad, but the rest of my table raved about them. If we were a hungrier group, we would have split the bone-in ribeye, which seemed like a popular item. Prices are a bit on the higher side, but to be expected for a steakhouse and an eatery in Calabasas. Service was efficient, no complaints. Free parking all around the Calabasas Commons, or else there's valet just nearby. BLVD Steak is near King's Fish House in the far corner of the Commons. read more

Second visit to BLVD and this time it was just a great experience all around. The staff was great and attentive, the General Manager was very kind and welcoming, and 2 kind patrons paid for our bill as a total and complete surprise at the end of the night!! Came in on a Wednesday to treat myself, but honestly, the experience was pretty frustrating. The Caprese cocktail was actually surprisingly good, but things fell apart after that. I ordered the king crab legs, a filet, and broccolini. I talked through the temp of the steak with the server to make sure the steak wouldn't be rare, and we agreed on medium. When it arrived and I cut into it, it was very rare and dark red in the middle. I called him over and he sent it back with my crab legs. I also had to mention I never got my broccolini, which he realized he forgot to put in. They brought out the broccolini first, but had already taken my plate and utensils, so I just sat there staring at a plate of greens with no way to eat it. When the rest of my food came back out, they gave extra crab legs (nice touch), but they had literally just reheated my cut-up steak, whatever. Plus, my butter, utensils, and napkin kept disappearing, so I had to keep asking for basic items throughout the night. The food overall was fine, nothing special. The butter cake at the end was mediocre at best. When the check came, there was a random extra $5 charge on it that the bartender said was a double-charge mistake for blue cheese but was marked as a refire. The place was practically empty, maybe four people at the bar and three tables. So there's really no excuse for this many mistakes on a slow night. Even with comped drinks and a coupon, I still dropped almost $200 with tip. The manager never even came over once to apologize or check in. Expected a lot better for a spot in Calabasas. read more

Quite frankly, this is one of the top restaurants in Southern California. My wife and I started going to BLVD Steak Calabasas when they opened, and now we look forward to stopping by a couple of times every week. We knew we were in for top-notch food and ambiance based on the reputation the previous locations had established, but what makes the Calabasas location different is the people who work there. From Tyler, Navid, Roya, Claire, Shanel, Skylar, Steph, and Frank at the bar, to Chase, Nick, Colin, and Savannah out on the floor (and so many others I've missed by name, my apologies), every single person is knowledgeable, professional and genuinely cares about the customers who walk through the door. And that's no surprise, considering how incredibly well Jimmy runs the place. The BLVD team has become an important part of our lives, and every visit feels like coming home. There are plenty of restaurants with great food, but very few deliver the complete experience that BLVD does. Location 4 stars: At the Commons shopping plaza in the Old Town area of Calabasas, California, off of Calabasas Road and Park Granada. It is located near the King's Fish House, on the Northeast side of the plaza. They have paid Valet parking on busier nights (but they were not there on a Sunday when I visited). There is also free self-parking on the premises, but you may have to walk a bit as the closer spaces are hard to come by. Venue 4.5 stars: Beautiful, contemporary and upscale setting with indoor tables and booths, outdoor tables and a nice large bar area. Lively, happening vibe. The background music is louder than your average restaurant, so you'll need to talk over the music to keep a conversation going. They take reservations on their website and on Resy. BTW this is the same ownership as Taisho and Casitas restaurants on Ventura Blvd, and they do also have another BLVD location on Ventura Blvd in Sherman Oaks. Service 4.5 stars: Super friendly and professional Maître d. Polite and professional server and bussers. Our server was attentive for the most part, but the service ended abruptly once the check was paid :D We were celebrating two birthdays and received two complimentary desserts which was super nice and much appreciated! They do add a 3% California Wages and Benefits surcharge to the check. My issue with this is why not simply add this 3% to the prices on the menu so that diners are aware? Food 3 stars: Modern American cuisine with international influences and a variety of Steaks. We had the Tuna Tartare and the Wagyu Meatball as appetizers, and the French Dip, the Faroe Island Salmon and the Spaghetti and Meatball as our main plates. The main plates do NOT come with any sides at all, so we ended up ordering separate side dishes which are expensive for what they are. We ordered the Shoestring Fries and the Chipotle Lime Corn, for $16 each. Taste wise, both the Salmon and the Prime Rib (in the French Dip) were way too salty. Not sure what happened there but we would humbly suggest to the chef to hold back on the salt :D The Au Jus for the French Dip also tasted burned. Drinks 3 stars: Large assortment of unique and beautiful-looking specialty cocktails, full bar, wine and soft drinks. The drinks are quite expensive ($28 for a Manhattan, $26 for the Martini, and the least expensive glass of Cabernet for $26). We had the White Negroni (unique concept and pretty presentation (see pic) but overly sweet and no hint of the gin), and a glass of the Thomas George Pinot Noir. The Last Word 3.5 stars: The decor, the vibe and the service are certainly excellent. To approach 5 stars, they should work on the food and the drinks. It would have also been nice if their prices were a bit more manageable and that the 3% surcharge is done away with. read more

For Mother's Day, my family and I came here for brunch, and the experience was nothing short of extraordinary. Our server, Nick, was absolutely fantastic, truly unlike any waiter I've had before. This is a great addition to the local happy hour scene! The Golden Hour is from 3:30-5:30 daily. When we arrived around 4pm on a Friday, there were plenty of spots, but it filled up very quickly. Don't sleep on this place! Lush, swanky interior with great service from Roya and the rest of the bar team. The happy hour items aren't cheap, but they're great quality and a great deal off the regular menu price. We enjoyed the BLVD Martini with Grey Goose ($18--though I jsut noticed now on my receipt that we were overcharged for this at $24; double check your receipt before you pay. That's the only reason for 4 stars), the Lemon Drop ($14), and the Watermelon Margarita with mezcal ($12). For food, we also enjoyed the Oysters ($18 for 6), the Salmon Dry Miso ($12), and the BLVD Burger ($18 plus $8 for fries). We had a great time chatting with the bartenders and some fellow patrons, as well as people watching. While I will meticulously check my receipt next time, I still recommend this place in your happy hour repertoire. read more
