What a great experience! It had been a long time since I had a haircut in a salon (we've just been going wild with the covid haircuts at home), and it was SUCH A TREAT to get a cut at Bluxom! I honestly can't believe it has taken me so long to leave a review, this place is amazing. Super friendly staff and the salon is always so clean and fresh. One of the nicest salons I have ever been to. I don't live in the area anymore, but I used to see Benji, he would freshen up my blonde. I used to try different salons everytime I needed my hair done. This salon is the only one I've returned to, for more than a year now. Salon is easy to find, easy parking. Scheduling appointments is easy and I've always been able to go during a convenient time. The products used are high quality (important bc I'm allergic to many things) and the stylists are all really nice. Rochelle is my go to stylist. She's turned my hair red, blonde, silver, brown and back to black all in the same year. My hair is still okay! Still healthy and she always cuts it in a way that still looks good when it grows out. I called last minute to get an appointment for a wash and blow dry on a Friday afternoon for that evening and these guys were kind enough to fit me in to the last slot of the day. The stylist was really attentive and asked me all the necessary questions to get an idea of what the health of my hair was so that she could use products that would suit my needs. I was greeted nicely by the reception when I arrived and I liked how I was offered a beverage. I didn't have to wait long for my manicure with Bronte. After a brief consultation she got started on my manicure. I like to talk during my service and we did a lot of it! Even better that they are a vegan salon and take more of a natural approach with their products. First haircut post SIP was a wonderful experience at Bluxom salon with Marci! They have you fill out a form ahead of time to make sure you do not have any Covid symptoms/haven't been around anyone who has it. They take your temperature upon arrival, only operate at 25% capacity and wear masks the entire time. I felt incredibly safe there! I was pleasantly surprised to receive a follow up call from the owner after writing this post. She was genuinely apologetic about the situation and took a sincere interest in my health and wellbeing. She also informed me that a few of the communication strategies have since changed since she was never informed when I originally called the salon. I am incredibly scared and have major trust issues whenever I have someone new styling my hair because I have A LOT of thick hair. After having my hair cut by Benji, I am convinced he's a goddess sent to Earth to make the world a better place, one style at a time. Really disappointed in this place. Came in and spent about 20 minutes with the hairstylist, explained in detail what I wanted and got my quote/estimate. The stylist added it won't be more that that. Got my appointment weeks ahead before the New Years.. came in on the 30th and my price was now $100 more. My opinion was to leave of course.. which I did. With my hair now looking like shit for New Years. I got three confirmations from the salon about my appointment but Benny never bothered to call and let me know he completely misquoted me. I found this place trying another salon and WOW so happy I found them! All their products are cruelty free and chemical free. Other salons will say this then offer you products that don't align with my values. I was able to book an "at home service" within a few days. Jenn is an absolute doll! We had some miscommunication about what I wanted for my hair and she came and finished the job on her day off! Obviously wouldn't had been a thing if we were at the actual salon!
