Came here for lunch (last meal in Europe before heading back to the States). Really glad I did. Had the Kinky Quinoa Salad with Tuna and the Salmon Toast. Both were super fresh and delicious. Prices were not bad at all either. Would definetly come back on my next trip to Amsterdam. read more

I have a few critiques, but I'm still going to give this 5 stars because of how adorable and delicious the food is! First of all, the decor is darling! Cute blue and white chairs with partially tiled floors of all colors. You walk in and instantly feel like you're in a better mood! The tables are extremely close together; they tried to pack a lot of people in a little space. I ordered the quinoa salad with tuna and my sister ordered the cauliflower power salad. Both were not great and very underdressed, so my advice to diners would be SKIP THE SALAD, GIRL!! TREAT YO SELF!! My mom got the vegetable dough pizza with chicken which was amazing! You couldn't even taste the cauliflower in it! But keep in mind that it's not gluten free. My dad got a ham and cheese sandwich with tomato soup. Both were Delicious! The service was not great. We had dirty dishes piled up on our table and we had to flag down waitresses to order dessert. For dessert, we had the gluten free carrot cake. The cake was crumbly but the frosting was amazing! Even though I have a lot of critiques for this place, I would certainly come back here. Its location is perfect in the Museum Quarter and is perfect for a pre- or mid-museum pick me up. Food is definitely healthy, fresh and tastes pretty good. We were turned off by the wait staffs' attitudes. First was admonished for bringing in an outside bottle of water (we just walked from the museum) and informed that "it is not acceptable behavior in Holland". Ordered tea and got a small cup of water, which I finished quickly. When I asked for more I was told that I'd have to purchased another cup of tea because they can't refill hot water. This is insanity IMO. A bag of tea brews 2-3 small cups of tea, anything else is just wasteful or lazy. read more

Food was okay, I had the veggie burger, which was a prepackaged patty. My husband had tomato soup that was a mix between soup and tomato sauce. The music was loud, rhythmic and annoying. Seating is terribly close. And the staff is overworked and not terribly committed to pleasing you. Tables were cleared on an as needed basis, leaving the the restaurant looking a mess. We went here after reviewing feedback. We found the decor to be nice and the location near museums convenient. The service was clearly overwhelmed with 25 tables and one waiter. It was simply poor and slow. The server chose to clean up tables rather than address customers. Sufficient clean tables were available at that time. The coffee we ordered was decent, the cooked components of the food consistently inedible, burnt, and abysmal. Our conclusion is that you can order anything that be assembled such as a salad, but stay away from anything where heat needs to be applied such as pancakes or omelettes. read more

Pretty good food and drinks, and in a really nice location in a busy area, close to many museums/things to see. However, the service was not good. We arrived during lunchtime with a big-ish group of people, and the staff seemed annoyed we were there. We pulled tables together by ourselves and they didn't help. They forgot some of our food, and the food that did come took a really long time. However, with that being said, it was really good food! I'm only giving one star because I can't give zero. Was waited on by two versions of Dutch Macklemore with rictus grins who took requests and proceeded to vanish forever. You can't buy water without purchasing coffee. Ambience could have been charming but came off as trying too hard for, of all things, a hipster aesthetic (why). You can't buy water without purchasing coffee, and they only give you about 6 fluid oz water for each cup of coffee. The tables are so badly laid out that by the end of the meal some skinny over tanned lady couldn't stop glaring at me over her detox smoothie because I had to climb over her. Buzzing with people and the food was really tasty and healthy!! Literally have been to so many cafes in Amsterdam looking for a rooibos cappuccino and this is the first one I've found in 6 months of living here!! CRAZY! A great place to go after a nice afternoon at the Van Gogh Museum! Blushing is just across the street and open until 6. My friend and I had no trouble finding a table, and enjoyed a delicious butternut squash soup, some coffee, and I had a cheesecake. The coffee was solid, the soup - delicious and a healthy portion - and the cheesecake was ok. Nothing amazing but I enjoyed it. The atmosphere was casual with many small tables and - a strange recommendation, I know - do check out the wallpaper! Its a compilation of different movie stars from different eras enjoying coffee. Friendly, but painfully slow and overpriced. I went here a few times, hoping that it would improve, but they can't make a proper flat white to save their lives. It was a cup of foam each time, which is quite the opposite of what it should be. It also took a long time, the servers were more interested in their own conversations than the line of customers, and the price was almost 4EUR for a small and bad cup of coffee. Service is okay. They're very strict about things which makes there service go down for me. Me and my friend both had an entree and 2 drinks. Yet they refused to give me more hot water without charging me for another tea. I don't like this because I'm sick and all I wanted was some hot water to drink, but they absolutely refused. The girl inside at the counter was great as was one of the female waitresses. Vanilla latte was good and came with a tiny foam art heart, nice touch. For lunch I had the Pzalm 50 -- smoked salmon, light cream cheese with chives, avocado, rocket, chopped red onions and capers on a piece of bread. Went there for brunch and food was superb. Delicious coffee as well. It was very crowded and the service was spotty but definitely recommend for the food. We had the scrambled eggs with added smoked salmon and mushroom with spelt bread (delicious.). Also the eggs Benedict with avocado and smoked salmon and my son had the flapjacks. My mom and I were on our way to the Van Gogh museum and looking for a spot to grab a quick bite of breakfast before our time slot. We just kind of stumbled upon Blushing and I'm so glad we did!! I loved the atmosphere of this place, so modern and clean but also cozy. The service was very friendly, could be slow at times but that was only because they were PACKED, really don't fault them for that! The menu was in Dutch and English which was very helpful (and always nice when I don't have to be the annoying American harassing wait staff for an English menu). The first time we went (we went back again within our one week visit because we loved it so much) we both got the Farmers Choice (buckwheat pancake, so delicious). The second time we went I got the Flapjack (whey protein pancake, I just love European pancakes) and my mom got the egg's benny which according to her was quite delicious! We sat inside both times as the weather wasn't great but it looks like they had a really cute little outdoor dining area as well.
