Just got notified that a company they work with, Marquis Software Solutions, had a data breach. Why did Marquis, who describe themselves as a "digital and physical marketing and communications vendor" need my social security number? When I queried BluPeak, they said it was to create a unique identifier. Um, I've worked in marketing and I know there are many ways to do this that do not involve SSNs. This is a cheap way out for them, and puts their customers at risk. This is only the latest in a series of problems I've had with them. read more

I received a thank you card from Ester W in this Davis branch thanking me for visiting the branch and asking me to give them a 10 star rating on a survey that I would receive. The problem is that I was never in that branch and I live in San Diego. I tried to send a secure message but BluPeak never responded. After much time on line holding for customer service ( up to 52 minutes) I finally talked to Marlene (supervisor) and found that the card was the result of a phone transaction about a month ago. Financial institutions don't send thank you card like this. To have it happen over the holidays caused stress and major concern as I have considerable funds in this CU. All BluPeak has to do is hire people so that they are adequately staffed with competent employees. Now I need to find a better institution and but that should not be hard. read more

I used to love BluPeak, but now that they have implemented remote tellers, I will be switching back to Chase. I had originally come to Blupeak to get a mortgage, as my colleagues had recommended them. I was very impressed with the customer service. The people were friendly, they remembered my name, and I always left feeling like I was valued. And even though the next closest branch is Berkeley and the parking situation is horrendous, it was worth coming there. But now that my mortgage was refinanced with a lower rate elsewhere and I can't do business with someone in person ... they push you to these new machines with a remote teller ... there is no longer a reason to deal with the hassle of going into downtown Davis and fighting for parking. Also, while the people in the branch are very knowledgeable, customer support via phone or electronic messages is terrible, the representatives don't even know how long it takes for a check to clear or what their own privacy forms say, so again, if I can't deal with a live human being in a branch, it isn't worth the frustration. read more

Extremely sketchy. I'm a college student, and I'm not supposed to be paying a $5 fee, but they're still charging me. I asked about it, and they told me I have to fill out a form online even though I opened a student account. My account is on hold, so I can't access my account online at all, and there's no way to fill out the form personally. Currently, my account is in the negatives because of the fees I shouldn't have gotten. My account seems to be lost as whenever I call the bank, they "can't find my card" so there's no way for me to be refunded or have this problem fixed. read more

I would have no idea USE Credit Union existed if one of my coworkers hadn't suggested them to me. I'm sure glad she did, as USE has been amazing. What initially brought me in is their excellent rates. They currently offer the absolute lowest APR I could find on an auto loan, 1.79% for 60 months for any car 2011 and newer! 1.99% is offered for 72 month financing. What's even better? 30 days of no payments! You can apply for the loan prior to becoming a member. If approved, becoming a member is easy, and can be done online. Opening a checking account is free and remains free after it is opened. I came into the Davis branch to set up a new account and was helped by Chris Majestic. He provided friendly, personalized, and thorough service. Everyone at the branch was friendly, kind, and helpful. The branch manager even walked out to greet me as I left. Prior to visiting the branch, I was helped by Thomas Torres over the phone. What was especially nice, is that over the several weeks I worked on getting the loan processed, I spoke with the same person (Thomas) every single phone call. It was so nice to have someone help me that was familiar with me and my account. I consider USE Credit Union a hidden gem, and I am really happy I discovered them! Give them a try! Some days ago, I went to the USE Credit Union, located at Davis, CA. I was attended by a clerk whose name is Reina. Reina with friendly and amiable manners called to be attended in her window. She showed me great respect and knowledge of her job. After doing my business, I discover in Reina the following qualities in the customer service area. 1). She is very friendly, courteous, and respectful with customers. 2). Reina has a good knowledge of banking operations. 3). Quickly resolves custormer's issues. 4). Great communication with customers. 5). Outstandind skills in her customer service. For those great qualities that Reina has, I want to congratulates USE Credit Union Davis, Ca branch, for hiring workers like Reina. My bank since 1992. I opened it when I was a college freshman at San Jose State. I'm grateful that they have online banking because we moved across the country. I've never had a problem with this credit union. They belong to the credit union network which means we can go to any participating credit union and do onsite banking if necessary. Only thing I don't like is that they don't open accounts online. read more

Disappointed to find out that a foreign exchange student over to attend university must have a social security number without fail to open an account. Surprising given that social security numbers are not easy to obtain and rightfully so and as such making it mandatory for even foreign students looking for banking just sends the wrong marketing message. We have a car loan through USE and they have always been great. Currently we were looking to consolidate some bills into a personal loan with a little left over to do some upgrades on our new home and Chris Majestic has been amazing. We are not sure of the status of our loan application yet, but even if we are not approved, Chris has done a great job and definitely worked hard for us! read more

This place is fantastic! I don't come here very often but when I do, the staff is always extremely friendly and always very welcoming. Several of the people that walk into this branch are greeted by name which is so sweet and endearing, especially for a bank. Located by Black Bear Diner, this location is super convenient since it is located in downtown. The service is always very quick and efficient. Highly recommend! read more

Wish I could have given no stars! As far as their auto loans, absolutely terrible. Received my welcome packet 3 weeks after my first payment due date. My payment last month was not even 30 days late and they refused my payment and repossessed my vehicle after I was told I would receive a call back from a supervisor. Never heard of such a ridiculous company who is not willing to work with the customer... especially when you are only a matter of a few weeks late? Thank God I have 2 other vehicles with excellent banks so this vehicle was literally a commuter car. Never using or recommending USE to anyone.. for ANYTHING! read more

The worst experience I have had in mortgage lending. I'm very experienced in the industry so understand the process. All I can say is that everything you want to avoid when doing a mortgage transaction is what happened. More fees, higher interest rate than promised, chasing them for communication and long unprofessional underwriting period. Very disappointed at our treatment after being associated with them for over 25 years and being a A+ member with strong credit history. Will not recommend to any of my clients as refinances and home buying is stressful enough as it is. read more

Very slow credit union using outdated data system. It took two months longer to get a preapproved loan processed than Wells Fargo. Clerks are also slow and friendly (asks personal questions like what does your business do). It is a good bank for people who have time, but not for busy people. read more

used to be SO much better, each time they change their website it is impossible to locate anything.. just wasted over 3 hours dealing with first the idiots at their service center, when the idiot who answered couldn't even repeat my number, I asked for a better one, had to wait hours again, then she knew nothing, then passed me to someone else, then she said they are not answering, could they call me back, I said don't U use USE where is the spot to do a deposit online.. she just laughed and sent me to another number, I waited for 20 minutes of ringing and got some bozo from some OTHER service center, I told him to pass me to the DAVIS Branch and he asked which CU and where? he is the backup for thousands it appears...I stayed on hold listening to music for almost an hour before it cut off.. the folks at the branch are amazing, but all of the idiots at the "service" center should be trained or let go..... read more

Was wonderful for years but it feels as if the wheels are coming off now. Counter people are really great but checks cost $18 for 25 checks now and you can't call the local branch. They don't give out the number. Check reorder service is frustrating. And they won't cover a check I write to a personal friend even though its my money, not theirs. If you don't have an account there you can't cash a check there even in the company of the check writer who keeps his money on deposit there. It didn't use to be this way.
