I was shocked to read the negative reviews on here, especially singling out Ben. We've been banking at this branch for both personal and business purposes for over 10 years now and have had nothing but stellar service. Especially from Ben, who we call "Superman". I know they battled a lot of issues during the Covid era. Staffing shortage, shorter hours, periodic branch closings... In their defense, a lot of the issues mentioned seemed to be out of their control and an extension of the staffing and hours cutbacks at the corporate level. In any case, it was distressing to hear about so many people being frustrated. We temper our expectations, do our research, clearly state our goals, follow up, and have never been disappointed. read more

I started an account with a banker. I needed more information, which was at home. I was not notified beforehand that I would need this information. My banker swa id I would have to come back to finish, but could not come back that day. I called him this morning requesting an appointment today at 3 or 4. He did not return my call or text me a response as I had requested. The bank will not take my pho9ne call. Very frustrated with them. Looks like I have to drive to the bank to get an appointment. Wells Fargo never treated me this way. read more

Super helpful staff! They informed me of how I can verify my account and had a banker assist me despite the appointments being full. First time opening a bank account all by myself and I'm glad it was Chase read more

Oh my God the new manager is a disaster. The ATMs won't give information, you have to go in and deal with 30 minutes to 24 hour waits and profanity laden piped in ""Music?"". No chairs, no coffee. Since I've complained, this skinny Asian lady chases me down trying to "have a talk" when I'm just trying to get business done and go ASAP! I don't want to hear derogatory names for women anywhere, do you? Like you're handing them your name, then they call you a "B#$@!h. Sorry, this isn't Sunset Blvd, and I'm not Divine Brown! Then they say it's just all policy that people's feelings and mental health don't matter. Only one friendly teller left there. Covid is some people's excuse for lousy customer service. read more

I'm a business account owner at Chase, and I have to say that Natasha Tennyson, their small business specialist, is hands down my favorite person who has ever ever worked in a bank. She is incredibly helpful and insightful about next steps for my business and has really been a key player in helping my business grow. It was hard for me to resist the pressure during the latest Occupy craze to keep my accounts here, and while I do have accounts as two local credit unions, I prefer the tools that Chase offers. Most of all I couldn't imagine not having Natasha handle my business account! The phone app is really useful for transfers and instant check deposits. **Update 10/9/12: So this last week my purse got stolen and when I called Natasha near meltdown, she totally made things better by taking care of my cancellations and reorders instantly. I also had a fantastic experience today going into the branch to get temporary checks printed. Sarah Napolitano was incredibly kind, personable, and fast. She was able to verify my account, get my checks printed, and she just generally made me feel better about my day. This branch is a total gem! read more

I recently went into this location to close out my account due to fraud. Ben Frechette helped me set up a new account and told me he just needed to call the online services department so they could set up a new online account for me to be able to access my account online or through the mobile app. He got on the phone and told me that I could leave since he may need to sit on hold for some time. I told him I had all day so I could wait, but he insisted that I leave and he'd take care of it. This was on a Thursday morning at about 10am I called Ben 2 times Thursday afternoon and left a voicemail. I did not receive a response back until 10am on Friday, to which he stated that "the phone lines were down Thursday, but he would take care of it today". I thanked him and went about my Friday. By 3pm, I started to get worried so I called. No response. Then I called again around 4:30 and left a voicemail. I really wanted to get my new account setup before the weekend, as most of Chase's call centers are only open Monday-Friday 9am-6pm pacific time due to COVID. Ben called back at 5:30pm on Friday to let me know he was unable to get through to someone, but that he would email me the number to call for online services. It was not enough time to reach someone before the call center closed, so I had to wait until the following Monday to set up my online account. After calling the number he provided and going through the system, I was told I was at the general customer service line, and they had to transfer me to online services. Ben's delay caused me to be locked out of my account for an extra 3 days, and the number he provided to me wasn't even the right number. His entire demeanor was that of someone who was too busy to help me, and I felt as though I was an inconvenience to him. I will not be returning to this Chase branch in Davis read more

Chase bank is a nightmare. Our business had Chase business credit cards. My husband was the primary card holder. Our business is in a family estate and I am the executor. When my husband passed away, Chase canceled our business credit cards due to an error on their behalf. The told me that the cards would be reinstated. But Chase lied. They lied over and over again. I lost businesd an many hours fixing their mistake. I would never do business with Chase. No one at Chase has any control to do anything to help. They call it the "back office. " But reallybit is offices outside the United States thst cannot help with any issue. Disgraceful!! read more

I stopped off at the downtown branch because my husband needed to get into his safe deposit box. I decided to take the opportunity to order some foreign cash instead of at the more convenient east Davis branch. They told me it would take just a couple of days and I would be called. Six business days later I still hadn't received a call so I tried to call the branch. The message said they were busy and try again later. That was unexpected, there was no option to leave a message for a call back (a couple of hours before closing) So anyway, I tried again the next day and got through to a person right away. She found the foreign money as well as a note saying that I had been called and had told them someone else would be picking it up. Nope. Wasn't me. She confirmed the money was there and apologized profusely for the note mix up. When I got to the bank and told the teller I was there to pick up foreign money, he knew about the error and also apologized profusely. He was very professional in counting out the money to confirm it was all there. Apology accepted. read more

Dont push your customers into using the atm to deposit money. I came to the line for a reason. Dont be so pushy. People have their own reasons, i was next in line and there was only maybe 2 people behind me. Thankfully i dont live in Davis. read more

It's a nice looking bank offering the full range of services, but an inexplicable tendency to operate only one human teller window at any given time. For instance I went to the bank to make a simple transaction, a woman appearing to be the branch manager approached us asking what we needed while we waited, she was unable to help us with the transaction and so left us to wait for the teller to become available. As a result it took my girlfriend 15 minutes to change a roll of quarters, even as other bank staff members appeared fully able to help her in a much shorter amount of time. read more

This particular Chase bank really combines that small town bank feel with the convenience of a large multinational bank! I've frequented this location for years and never had anything but pleasant experiences. The staff is friendly and informed. However, I am writing this review because they just went ABOVE AND BEYOND the call of duty. They just helped me solve an important quandary in spite of it being totally outside of the scope of what a bank "has to" do. My wife suggested they may be able to help and sure enough, Davis' Downtown Chase delivered. And to top it off, when I pulled out my phone to start writing this positive review on the spot, I realized that I had walked in 5 minutes after their posted closing hours! They didn't even mention it. What kind people. Such wonderful a small town bank feel! read more

Due to Ben's dishonesty and refusal to admit Chase's error (HIS BRANCH), my savings account was wiped out. Unforgivable. Terrible human being. Oh my gosh! I just read Maggie's review on Google and I can relate! First of all, I am so very sorry for the passing of her family member. Where this location screwed me over was also involving a situation of the passing of a loved one. I went in on 12/3/2021 to have my father (who passed away on 10/29/2021) removed from my savings account. I supplied the death certificate and everything. The employee even had a supervisor assisting him. I was promised all was taken care of. Fast forward to last month, a hold was put on my savings account for money my father owed FTB. Because of the unethical and deceitful nature of Ben, I was told there was no record of me coming in. Complete bs! He knows a mistake was made but instead of doing the right thing, he did what so many immoral and greedy people do, he lied and screwed me out of everything in the account. Disgusting. Thank God the Chase where I live has an upstanding and nice guy as a manager! Chase needs to fire Ben ASAP!! He's a liability that the company should let go of. read more

This branch is awesome. They always engage in conversation and chase is by far the best bank I have ever had. The customer service is awesome here and they always have lollipops for the little ones in the lobby. The reps always call me by first name and make the experience very personal. Any time I have had issues with my account, such as losing my debit card or an unexpected fee, they are quick to assist and there has never been a long wait to be helped. The personal bankers are exceptional as well. I went in to take someone off of my account and the banker made it his first priority to help me and fax the information to another branch to get it taken care of. And as if that wasn't enough, he took down my phone number and called as soon as it was completed. Nothing but good experiences here. read more

New to town and not particularly needing to visit the local branch, I didn't give it much thought. Waiting for my Starbucks drink, a Chase associate and I were in line. She was so nice and pleasant, I was thrilled to find a personal banker that was very sincere. Now I make it a point to visit my local Chase Bank. Just for the sake that they have my money and care for it well. read more

I came here to write a cashier's check for my apartment lease. The teller was extremely patient and understanding while my housemate and I struggled to get everything together since we were pretty new to the whole leasing situation! This is going to be my branch for the rest of college so I'm glad it's rather nice! read more

Horrible customer service and the bank tellers are very rude and not very friendly. Stay clear of this particular branch.

I'm in shock! That being a member at this bank means that I can't get over 200usd in cash per check cashed and that the rest of my money won't be available until the bank gets the money from the payer. Now this is the only branch that's shown to be incompetent of doing a secured check verification, but seemed to be passive aggressive rude that I would even ask . My other bank will give me 5,000usd on the spot when I make check deposit and let me order 10kusd for pick up the next day . read more

Tried to deposit cash in my friend's account because we live in different cities and I owed her money. Had all the info I needed and everything. They wouldn't take it. Cash. They don't want cash. I ended up just using PayPal and will from now on. Good luck keeping customers, Chase. read more

Absolutely horrible experience. Thankfully the folks at the Dixon branch did their best to make me feel at ease and actually helped.

The worse chase bank I've ever been. This review is for the tellers. I came here a few times. I would say their tellers have poor customer service. One of the lady has a bad attitude. And the other one wasn't just nice. I asked for new hundred dollar bills, but she was like "it's whatever comes up from the machine". read more

Chase is not my primary bank but my secondary one. With this said, it does not mean that Davis's Chase isn't fantastic! The help here is amazing. Once you walk in, you are greeted by either a bank associate or a person at the front desk. Like I said, they are very helpful and are always open to any questions that you may have on your mind. One person whom I had the extreme pleasure of having as a helper was Sarah (her last name escape me) and having been a former UCD alumni, she is very familiar with any loans or student bank accounts that you may have. read more

Chase bank is always my favorite and primary bank. They have the best custom service!! This one is also the same.

I use to really like this bank, before they dropped me because I wasn't a student by their age standards. So I couldn't use my ATM/Debt card anymore. I'd been using this since I was 16. They offered me a credit card, but I don't use this, so I don't bank with them anymore. read more
